This week's episode is a special edition of A Pint of Petrol... to celebrate the day of love (pass the bucket), Tim's wife has been given several automotive questions about him... but Tim has no idea what she has answered or said about him. Much to Ian's delight.  Sit back as this is a good one... back at the pub, talking Harlequin VWs, end parking spaces, Radio 4, Land Rover Monthly and many other automotive things, all with a beer in hand.  Marvellous. Recording February 2026.
This week, the boys aren't at the pub (again)... instead, they are visiting one of the largest indoor RC car racing events in the UK... the 2026 MKGP. This isn't a bunch of blokes playing with toys, either. Oh no, the British Off Road Grand Prix brings 430 competitors from all over the world for three days of high speed, highly competitive racing right in the centre of the MK:Centre.  So, what do the boys make of these 1/10 scale electric off-road RC buggies, truggies and trucks? Well both have raced in their youth, so enjoy this special trip down memory lane. Recording February 2026.
This week, the boys aren't drinking beer... they're not even in the pub! But, don't worry, they are still talking cars. In fact, this week, they are talking about one very important car... the iconic Land Rover Defender.  It's now been an entire decade since the very last Defender - classic style anyway - rolled off the production line. Today, it remains as popular as ever and is still a recognisable icon to this very day. So, what stories do the boys have on this global legend?  Grab your coffee, as we are about to find out. Recorded January 2026.
This week, the boys are in a different pub but don't worry, thats the only change... In this episode, Tim has gone all giddy for the World Rally Championship with WRC Monte Carlo. Ian's Land Rover is back on the road (at last). There is also worrying - or annoying - news that some Tesla drivers are NOT being fined for speeding AND a host of cars have pick up awards at the annual WhatCar? awards. Oh and there is a new Bugatti, too, the one-off FKP.  All this and more - including a rather naughty confession from Ian - is in this episode of A Pint of Petrol. Recorded January 2026.
After eight weeks, the boys are back! And Ian is going to explain why there hasn't been an episode of A Pint of Petrol since November last year... In this episode, Ian explains how he managed to crashed Hank, his beloved Land Rover 110, Tim reveals he has acquired yet another car and Willow fails to get comfy.  Yep, we're all back at the pub so sit back, pour a cold one and enjoy your latest episode of A Pint of Petrol! Recorded January 2026.
Welcome to this special episode of A Pint of Petrol, where Tim catches up with Paul Oxborough, founder of Mental Health Motorbike, the charity that aims to put a Mental Health First Aider in every town and city across the UK. Tim has supported this charity since 2024, proudly wearing their brand on his shirts at every show and event he presents. As of 23 November 2025, the charity has trained more than 1,100 Mental Health First Aiders. This is a very special episode that talks openly about Mental Health and the issues surrounding it.  Recorded at Motorcycle Live in November 2025.
This week, the boys are talking about car films and films about cars. There have been plenty over the years, but which really stand out and why? Well, Tim and Ian discuss all in this week's episode HOWEVER... there is a bit of a problem... Despite owning several vehicles, Ian doesn't have a single one he can use to get to the pub... so the boys have turned back the close to 2020 and are recording this episode remotely.  Will they get the whole episode done in time... or will the video call end too soon... time to find out... ACTION! Recorded October 2025.
This week, the boys are looking through the Iconic Auctioneers catalogue ahead of the NEC Classic Motor Show and there is one car that Tim might be bidding on... genuinely. Join the boys in the pub garden for one last time before British Summer Time ends for the year... they've got hundreds of lots to look through but will there be a bidding war? Tim has set an imaginary budget of £250,000, what will the boys buy? One mega car or lots of lesser ones? Well, there is one car that's got Tim talking to finance companies... Recorded October 2025.
2025 has been one of the busiest years for car shows, bike meets and military festivals with the boys attending more than 50 events between them. Was it the best year ever for events?  Well, there has been plenty of highs and very few lows so the boys are taking a look back over the season.  This week's episode is a bit different, too... Ian doesn't have a working car so the boys are in Ian's kitchen drinking tinnies, with his dog Clover.  Recorded October 2025.
It's a sign of the times when Volvo, the daddy of the estate car, stops production of one of it's most iconic models and Ferrari, arguably the chapel of Internal Combustion, is going all electric...  This week, the boys take a trip down memory lane and look at the heritage of the Volvo estate, looking back at where it all started right to present day. And Tim is way too excited about the technical details of the new Ferrari Elettrica, the brands first all-electric car.  Plus Ian's Monza is back from the paint shop. Is he happy with it? Have a listen to find out. Recorded October 2025.
It's the end of Show Season and the boys are back down the pub discussing Tim's latest show, VauxALL South. Did this new show down at Beaulieu hit the mark, or was it a wash out?  There is also some exciting news, as Tim reveals how many cars Ford need to sell to make the same amount of money as selling just one Ferrari... AND there is a bit of inside knowledge into the Ferrari buying tier system... thats right, you can't just go and buy one. Have a listen to find out. Recorded October 2025.
In this episode of a Pint of Petrol, the boys are having a bit of a midlife crisis. Tim has got it into his head that he wants to buy a caravan, and Ian thinks this is a stupid idea and that Tim should just buy a tent. Can Ian convince Tim to live life under the stars, or is Tim too wedded to the creature comforts of home?  They do find a compromise... and it might surprise you. Have a listen to find out. Recorded September 2025.
In this episode of a Pint of Petrol, Ian and Tim are back down the pub after week away. Tim has been to Goodwood Revival, being posh with some of the rarest and most expensive race cars from yesteryear. Meanwhile, Ian has been to We Have Ways Fest enjoying all things WWII... and occasionally hiding in strangers tents. Now they are back, and many things are happening at JLR, Tim's been in a BBR MX-5 AND Ian's had several important planes fly over his house. Get a drink in hand as the boys are back in their favourite place, doing what they love. Recorded September 2025.
In this episode of a Pint of Petrol, Ian and Tim are back down the pub and Ian has a big surprise for Tim... all the way from Germany, it arrived a week or two ago and Ian has been chomping at the bit to open it.  Also, the boys scour the news and discover just how desperate manufactures are to publish news when there is NOTHING going in the automotive industry... apart from one manufacturer, that is, who has be hacked and has COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN.  Get a drink in hand as the boys are back in their favourite place, doing what they love. Recorded September 2025.
In this episode of a Pint of Petrol, Tim has found two automotive versions of the legendary game that is Top Trumps. One of them is brilliant in every way, from the retro-style case, to the cars and the specs... the other one is not. It is THE WORST version of Top Trumps Tim and Ian have ever seen... however, they still (try to) play.  The boys also discuss some of the latest news AND there is ONE CAR Ian really doesn't like...  Find out by listening now! Recorded August 2025.
EPISODE 25 of A PINT OF PETROL! And to celebrate our 25th trip to the pub, Tim and Ian are answering your questions... We've had questions in from all corners of the globe, from as far as the USA to down under in Australia. Even in the UK, we've reached the glitz and glam of London to the depths of the Highlands... and now, the boys are back down the pub, pint in hand, ready to answer your questions. We even take questions from Chat GPT! So what have the boys been asked? Turns out, one of the questions reveals A BIG SECRET that Ian has kept from Tim... Find out by listening now! Recorded August 2025.
In Ep 23 of a Pint of Petrol, Tim and Ian are having an argument... which is better: The traditional car show OR the new trend of pop-up car and coffee meets? Tim is representing the old school event, where you pay an entry fee for a full day out of family entertainment, whereas Ian is flying the flag for the new tradition of localised car and coffee meets, which usually take place once a month at a local venue.  The boys are at Banbury Car and Bike Meet, one of the best C&C meet ups, to discuss the pros and cons of each. And there is one fundamental thing that the boys agree will ruin the new generation of events. Have a listen and find out what it is... Recorded in August 2025.
In Ep 23 of a Pint of Petrol, Tim and Ian reminisce about the good old days of car shows - and how the 2025 VBOA National Rally brought that back. Earlier this year, the Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association (VBOA) had a big problem - they had no venue for their National Rally. The existing venue had hiked the prices to the point it was unviable and the team did find an alternative... however, just two hours after it was announced, the online backlash put the entire event at risk. What followed was one of the greatest returns seen in many years, with the 2025 Rally finding a new home and taking everyone who went a trip down memory lane.  Have a listen and find out why it was so good... Recorded in August 2025.
Welcome back to A Pint of Petrol...  its been a very turbulent time for the UK car market this week and, according to Tim and Ian, it's absolutely F... What is going to be the outcome of a new EV grant that excludes Chinese car makers? What happens when they offer their own discount? And then what will happen to the used market? And can anything be done to revive the market and get us back to the glory days?  Have a listen and find out. Recorded in July 2025.
Welcome back to A Pint of Petrol...  this week, the boys are on the road discussing what makes a great road trip. Tim and Ian are heading down to Beaulieu for Simply Land Rover but what makes this more than just a drive? What are the top things you can do to make your long summer journeys that bit more memorable... Well have a listen to find out the ONE THING Tim does that truly offends Ian AND what causes Ian to almost boil over with rage. Recorded in July 2025.
