Episode 4 has us deep in it this week - layered, emotional and quietly setting up some big moves. We’re asking who can we actually trust right now? Because between Amaranthus (🚩 sorry, we said it), the Cunningham energy and secrets being shared a little too freely, well, things feel shaky. And when William opens up about being a bastard. Frankly we're concerned about who he’s telling and what that might mean.We are officially Elsbeth fans. She is intriguing, perceptive, and gives absolutely nothing away. The bark-for-bark exchange with Claire (slippery elm vs Jesuit bark) is iconic, and the way she sees Fanny so clearly - “she’s a remarkable child” - stand up MVP behaviour. Also Brianna and William. That reunion scene. Awkward, raw, perfect. Sophie Skelton is playing Bree with such grounded maturity this season - she’s gentle, measured, and the way she reminds William of who his family is. Heaven. Plus Lord John extending that invite. Yes please, more please. Meanwhile Roger is off on his own chaotic side quest trying to secure guns in Savannah, which lands him in a full-blown Continental army camp unable to leave while Jamie’s past in warfare is starting to ripple into the present. Fergus lovers assemble because he might just be the son of Comte St Germain and about to receive a huge inheritance: oh hi generational wealth and land deals for a French colony. The Beauchamp name popping up again is intriguing - there's layers, there's implications. There's history and drama. And there's Marsali just quietly loving him for exactly who he is. As always. We also touch on Buck MacKenzie popping back in, Ian and Rachel, Fanny and the ongoing mystery of Frank’s book. What was his actual motive? Help? Hinder? Something in between?Come debrief with us.Find us on IG @twoweelassiesTell us what are your predictions for the final season?!
We're asking the big questions this episode. How do we feel about Jealous Jamie? What's the blue light all about? And will William get his heart broken again this season? We're breaking down the incredible birth scene, militias forming, masks coming off (ahem, Cunningham), and we can feel the conflict brewing on the horizon. But it's not all doom and gloom! We're geeking out over character development, costume choices (because the details matter!), and speculating wildly about where this supernatural storyline is headed. Are Claire's powers going to change everything? Likely.Find us on IG @twoweelassiesSend us an audio note! What are *your* best predictions for the final seson?!
Bears are attacking, babies are arriving, graves are being dug up... and Frank is haunting Jamie from beyond the page. We break down all the big moments in 8.02 "Prophecies", which also happens to be Caitriona Balfe's directorial debut! We're talking Amy's heartbreaking death, the birth of baby Oggy and William's midnight graveyard revelation. We also get into why David Berry would be completely safe from Claire in a Sydney Woolworths carpark and Gen's deeply aspirational no-wash hair routine, plus how recapping Outlander is basically just HSC English for us all over again. The season is up and away and we're delighted to be back sharing with you!Enjoy! Follow us on IG at @twoweelassies.And send us a voice note at speakpipe.com/twoweelassies.
Season Eight is upon us!Join Claire and Gen as they dive into the first episode of the final season of Outlander. It’s emotional. It’s juicy. There's a new Skye Boat song by the inimitable Annie Lennox. There are reunions galore, questionable baby names, and all the regular MVPs (hi, dad-to-be Ian).Expect memorable lines, new characters and beloved old friends. It’s clear they’re setting the scene for a huge finale season.Enjoy!Follow us on IG at @twoweelassies.And send us a voice note at speakpipe.com/twoweelassies.
We're back! And we've got a LOT of ground to cover! After a bit of a life hiatus (overseas adventures, and hosting in-laws across hemispheres), Gen and Claire reunite for the penultimate recap before Outlander's FINAL season begins. This week: all 16 episodes of Season 7, divvied up between the two of us. We break down the highlights (hello 1980's!!!), the lowlights (Arch Bug storyline 🙃), our MVPs, favourite lines, must watch episodes from this belter of a season, and our best predictions for Season 8.Enjoy! This one's a rollercoaster packed into just eight episodes!Gen's diving into what is the most condensed season of Outlander, breaking down the musical highlights (helllo Sky Boat Song), Lizzie's wild relationship with the Beardsley twins and why Ian continues to be the character development king.Filming during the pandemic meant a shorter season, but it also meant some incredibly intense storytelling: Claire's PTSD takes centre stage in ways that are both difficult and important to watch, while the political landscape gets murkier and more morally complicated than ever.Plus, Fergus is going through it this season! Dealing with shame and identity in ways that break your heart. And community dynamics get real when Fraser's Ridge rallies when things get dark.Join us as Gen guides us through the shortened but emotionally packed Season Six!Find us on IGSend us an audio note
Claire's back in the driver's seat for this one and she's got opinions. Season Five is... well, it's a mixed bag folks and we're not afraid to say it.In this episode, Claire's walking Gen through the highs and lows of Season Five and let's be real, the first half is a bit of a slog. But stick with us, because the second half? **Chef's kiss** We're breaking down exactly which episodes are must-watches as you prepare for the final season (😭) and which ones you can maybe scroll through while folding laundry (we won't judge). But here's what makes this season worth it: Young Ian absolutely steals the show as MVP. We're talking about his character development, his journey and why he deserves all the love. Plus, Fraser's Ridge is really coming into its own now. The candle making seasons are giving serious cottage core and we're into it. We're also diving into the darker moments (because this is Outlander, ya know), the relationships that evolve, and how this show handles trauma. Strap in!Find us on IG.Send us an audio note.
Alright, it's Gen's turn to take Claire on a journey and what a journey it is. Season Four drops Jamie and Claire in America, aka the New World, aka "let's start fresh!" (spoiler: it doesn't go so smoothly)Gen's breaking down cottage core aesthetics, community building at Fraser's Ridge, the small matter of navigating pre-Revolutionary War politics and the complexities of being Scottish immigrants in America during this era. Oh, and the expanding Fraser family as Brianna and Roger cross through the stones! A time travelling family they are.Let's recap together and get stuck into the season where the Frasers finally try to put down roots, whether the New World is ready for them or not.Find us on IG.Send us an audio note.
Okay, deep breaths everyone. Season Three is a LOT.In this episode, Claire's walking Gen through Culloden (grab the tissues), jumping forward to the 1960s where Claire, Frank and Breanna are living in modern Boston during Jamie and Claire's epic 20-year separation. And then of course, we get THE REUNION. You know the one. The print shop. We're breaking down every second of it because we could talk about that scene for hours. Then the show throws us onto the high seas for some swashbuckling adventure, because Claire and Jamie can't just have a normal life. (Would we want them to? Probably not.)Join us as we navigate heartbreak and time jumps and the Season Three episodes you could probably rewatch before the final season begins!Find us on IG: https://instagram.com/twoweelassies Send us an audio note: https://speakpipe.com/twoweelassies
So you survived Season One? Congrats! Now buckle up, because Season Two takes our beloved Claire and Jamie to Paris, complete with powdered wigs, political scheming and THAT red dress. In this episode, we recap the Season Two episodes as Claire and Jamie deal with some heavy stuff: the weight of knowing the future (spoiler: it sucks) and navigating grief while trying to change history. But there's some fantastic fashion, and enough sass, intrigue and drama to balance it out, plus of course: Murtagh, the MVP support character we all need.Enjoy!Find us on IG: https://instagram.com/twoweelassies Who's your MVP in this season? Remember that moment when you realised you weren't just watching Outlander anymore... you were fully invested in the Highlander way of life? Yeah, us too. And with the final season dropping in 2026, we decided to make a podcast about our favourite show. We're watching every episode and bringing you the recaps so you're ready for season eight. So, welcome to Two Wee Lassies! We're Claire & Gen, and in our very first episode, we're spilling all the tea (whisky?) on what makes season one so incredibly special. From the gorgeous use of Gaelic language to Claire's evolution from fish-out-of-water to full-on 18th-century survivor, we're breaking down why these characters and stories get under your skin. But it's not all swoony romance (though there's plenty of that). We explore the more emotive stuff too, like what it means to belong somewhere, and how Outlander puts women's stories front and centre in a way we don't always see in shows of this genre.Join us as we relive and recap the season that started it all. Trust us, whether you're rewatching for the hundredth time or just getting started, we've got you.Follow us on IG.Who's your MVP in this season? Any predictions for the final season?
