By The Grace Of The True Guru:ਹਮ ਸਰਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਬ ਪਤੀਆਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ham sar dheen dhiaal na tum sar ab pateeaar kiaa keejai ||(ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ!) ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੇ, ਤੇਰੇ, ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮੇਰੀ ਕੰਗਾਲਤਾ ਦਾ) ਹੁਣ ਹੋਰ ਪਰਤਾਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ । There is none as forlorn as I am, and none as Compassionate as You; what need is there to test us now?ਬਚਨੀ ਤੋਰ ਮੋਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧॥bachanee tor mor man maanai jan kau pooran dheejai ||1||(ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਿਦਕ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਚ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰੇ ।੧।May my mind surrender to Your Word; please, bless Your humble servant with this perfection. ||1||ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਰਮਈਆ ਕਾਰਨੇ ॥hau bal bal jaau ramieeaa kaarane ||ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂI am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Lord.ਕਾਰਨ ਕਵਨ ਅਬੋਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥kaaran kavan abol || rahaau ||ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ? ।ਰਹਾਉ।O Lord, why are You silent? ||Pause||ਬਹੁਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਥੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਲੇਖੇ ॥bahut janam bichhure the maadhau ih janam tum(h)aare lekhe ||ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਇਹ ਜਨਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇFor so many incarnations, I have been separated from You, Lord; I dedicate this life to You.ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਸ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਉ ਚਿਰ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ॥੨॥੧॥keh ravidhaas aas lag jeevau chir bhio dharasan dhekhe ||2||1||ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ—ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ; ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਬੜਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।੨।੧।Says Ravi Daas: placing my hopes in You, I live; it is so long since I have gazed upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||1||Bhagat Ravi Daas Ji in Raag Dhanaasree - 694

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥dhanaasaree mahalaa chauthhaa ||Dhanaasaree, Fourth Mehla:ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥mere saahaa mai har dharasan sukh hoi ||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ । O my King, beholding the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, I am at peace.ਹਮਰੀ ਬੇਦਨਿ ਤੂ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਸਾਹਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥hamaree bedhan too jaanataa saahaa avar kiaa jaanai koi || rahaau ||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ । ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ।ਰਹਾਉ।You alone know my inner pain, O King; what can anyone else know? ||Pause||ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਚੁ ਸਭੁ ਹੋਇ ॥saachaa saahib sach too mere saahaa teraa keeaa sach sabh hoi ||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈਂ । ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਭੀ ਉਕਾਈ-ਹੀਣ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਊਣਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ) । O True Lord and Master, You are truly my King; whatever You do, all that is True.ਝੂਠਾ ਕਿਸ ਕਉ ਆਖੀਐ ਸਾਹਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥jhoottaa kis kau aakheeaai saahaa dhoojaa naahee koi ||1||ਹੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ।੧Who should I call a liar? There is no other than You, O King. ||1||ਸਭਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਤੂ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਾਹਾ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥sabhanaa vich too varatadhaa saahaa sabh tujheh dhiaaveh dhin raat ||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ You are pervading and permeating in all; O King, everyone meditates on You, day and night.ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਇਕ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨॥sabh tujh hee thaavahu ma(n)gadhe mere saahaa too sabhanaa kareh ik dhaat ||2||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ (ਮੰਗਾਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ।੨।Everyone begs of You, O my King; You alone give gifts to all. ||2||ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥sabh ko tujh hee vich hai mere saahaa tujh te baahar koiee naeh ||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਤੈਥੋਂ ਆਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ All are under Your Power, O my King; none at all are beyond You.ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਸਭਸ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੩॥sabh jeea tere too sabhas dhaa mere saahaa sabh tujh hee maeh samaeh ||3||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।੩।All beings are Yours-You belong to all, O my King. All shall merge and be absorbed in You. ||3||ਸਭਨਾ ਕੀ ਤੂ ਆਸ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹ ॥sabhanaa kee too aas hai mere piaare sabh tujheh dhiaaveh mere saeh ||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ ।You are the hope of all, O my Beloved; all meditate on You, O my King.ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਖੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੩॥jiau bhaavai tiau rakh too mere piaare sach naanak ke paatisaeh ||4||7||13||ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਰੱਖ । ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।੪।੭।੧੩।As it pleases You, protect and preserve me, O my Beloved; You are the True King of Nanak. ||4||7||13||Guru Raam Daas Ji in Raag Dhanaasree - 670

ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥dhanaasaree mahalaa panjavaa ||Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੀ ॥jis kaa tan man dhan sabh tis kaa soiee sughaR sujaanee ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ । Body, mind, wealth and everything belong to Him; He alone is all-wise and all-knowing.ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਉ ਬਿਧਿ ਨੀਕੀ ਖਟਾਨੀ ॥੧॥tin hee suniaa dhukh sukh meraa tau bidh neekee khaTaanee ||1||ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ-ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਹਾਲਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧He listens to my pains and pleasures, and then my condition improves. ||1||ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਏਕੈ ਹੀ ਪਹਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥jeea kee ekai hee peh maanee ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿੰਦ ਦੀ (ਅਰਦਾਸ) ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ My soul is satisfied with the One Lord alone.ਅਵਰਿ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥avar jatan kar rahe bahutere tin til nahee keemat jaanee || rahaau ||(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਲੋਕ) ਹੋਰ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਇਕ ਤਿਲ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ।ਰਹਾਉPeople make all sorts of other efforts, but they have no value at all. ||Pause||ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਹੀਰਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਮੰਤਾਨੀ ॥a(n)mirat naam niramolak heeraa gur dheeno ma(n)taanee ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ । The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is a priceless jewel. The Guru has given me this advice.ਡਿਗੈ ਨ ਡੋਲੈ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨੀ ॥੨॥ddigai na ddolai dhiraR kar rahio pooran hoi tirapataanee ||2||ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤਰ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੱਕੇ ਇਰਾਦੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।It cannot be lost, and it cannot be shaken off; it remains steady, and I am perfectly satisfied with it. ||2||ਓਇ ਜੁ ਬੀਚ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਕਛੁ ਹੋਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਲਾਨੀ ॥oi ju beech ham tum kachh hote tin kee baat bilaanee ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਾਮ-ਹੀਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਤਕਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਬੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਹਨ ।Those things which tore me away from You, Lord, are now gone.ਅਲੰਕਾਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਥੈਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਨਿਕ ਵਖਾਨੀ ॥੩॥ala(n)kaar mil thailee hoiee hai taa te kanik vakhaanee ||3||ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਇਉਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗਹਣੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਗਾਲੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਰੈਣੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਢੇਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਸੋਨਾ ਹੀ ਅਖਵਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।When golden ornaments are melted down into a lump, they are still said to be gold. ||3||ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥pragaTio jot sahaj sukh sobhaa baaje anahat baanee ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, The Divine Light has illuminated me, and I am filled with celestial peace and glory; the unstruck melody of the Lord's Bani resounds within me.ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਘਰੁ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਓ ਬੰਧਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੫॥kahu naanak nihachal ghar baadhio gur keeo ba(n)dhaanee ||4||5||ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੫।Says Nanak, I have built my eternal home; the Guru has constructed it for me. ||4||5||Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Dhanaasree - 671,672

Continuously, continually, I chant the Word of the Guru's Bani.ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸਦ ਮੀਠੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਪਾਪ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥Gurbani always seems so sweet; I have eradicated the sins from within.ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥The disease of egotism is gone, fear has left, and I am absorbed in celestial peace.ਕਾਇਆ ਸੇਜ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਭੋਗੋ ॥Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the bed of my body has become cozy and beautiful, and I enjoy the essence of spiritual wisdom.ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸੁਖਿ ਮਾਣੇ ਨਿਤ ਰਲੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੋ ॥੧॥Night and day, I continually enjoy peace and pleasure. O Nanak, this is my pre-ordained destiny. ||1||ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਕੁੜਮੁ ਕੁੜਮਾਈ ਆਇਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥The soul-bride is lovingly embellished with truth and contentment; her Father, the Guru, has come to engage her in marriage to her Husband Lord.ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲੁ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਾਈਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥Joining with the humble Saints, I sing Gurbani.ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰ ਗਾਈ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਪੰਚ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੋਹਾਇਆ ॥Singing the Guru's Bani, I have obtained the supreme status; meeting with the Saints, the self-elect, I am blessed and adorned.ਗਇਆ ਕਰੋਧੁ ਮਮਤਾ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਠੀ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥Anger and attachment have left my body and run away; I have eradicated hypocrisy and doubt.ਹਉਮੈ ਪੀਰ ਗਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਰੋਗਤ ਭਏ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥The pain of egotism is gone, and I have found peace; my body has become healthy and free of disease.ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੨॥By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, I have realized God, the ocean of virtue. ||2||ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਛੁੜੀ ਦੂਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਬਲਿ ਗਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥The self-willed manmukh is separated, far away from God; she does not obtain the Mansion of His Presence, and she burns.ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਮਤਾ ਕੂਰਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਵਿਹਾਝੇ ਕੂੜਿ ਲਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥Egotism and falsehood are deep within her; deluded by falsehood, she deals only in falsehood.ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥Practicing fraud and falsehood, she suffers terrible pain; without the True Guru, she does not find the way.ਉਝੜ ਪੰਥਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੈ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਧਕੇ ਖਾਇਆ ॥The foolish soul-bride wanders along dismal pathways; each and every moment, she is bumped and pushed.ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥God, the Great Giver, shows His Mercy, and leads her to meet the True Guru, the Primal Being.ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਜਨ ਮੇਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥੩॥Those beings who have been separated for countless incarnations, O Nanak, are reunited with the Lord, with intuitive ease. ||3||ਆਇਆ ਲਗਨੁ ਗਣਾਇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਨ ਓਮਾਹੀਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥Calculating the most auspicious moment, the Lord comes into the bride's home; her heart is filled with ecstasy.ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪਾਧੇ ਆਣਿ ਪਤੀ ਬਹਿ ਵਾਚਾਈਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥The Pandits and astrologers have come, to sit and consult the almanacs.ਪਤੀ ਵਾਚਾਈ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਜਬ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੁਣੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥They have consulted the almanacs, and the bride's mind vibrates with bliss, when she hears that her Friend is coming into the home of her heart.ਗੁਣੀ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਬਹਿ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ ਫੇਰੇ ਤਤੁ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥The virtuous and wise men sat down and decided to perform the marriage immediately.ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਦ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਬਾਲ ਸਖਾਈ ॥She has found her Husband, the Inaccessible, Unfathomable Primal Lord, who is forever young; He is her Best Friend from her earliest childhood.ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥O Nanak, he has mercifully united the bride with Himself. ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥dhanaasaree mahalaa panjavaa ||Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥jatan karai maanukh ddahakaavai oh a(n)tarajaamee jaanai ||ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything.ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥paap kare kar mookar paavai bhekh karai nirabaanai ||1||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈThey commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. ||1||ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥jaanat dhoor tumeh prabh ner ||ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand.ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥aut taakai aut te aut pekhai aavai lobhee fer || rahaau ||ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।Looking around, this way and that, the greedy people come and go. ||Pause||ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥jab lag tuTai naahee man bharamaa tab lag mukat na koiee ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found.ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥kahu naanak dhiaal suaamee sa(n)t bhagat jan soiee ||2||5||36||ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ ।੨।੫।੩੬।Says Nanak, he alone is a Saint, a devotee, and a humble servant of the Lord, to whom the Lord and Master is merciful. ||2||5||36||Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Dhanaasree - 680

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥goojaree mahalaa panjavaa ||Goojaree, Fifth Mehla:ਕਬਹੂ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਚੀਤੁ ਨ ਲਾਇਓ ॥kabahoo har siau cheet na laio ||(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ-ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਵ) ਕਦੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਦਾ । You never focused your consciousness on the Lord.ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਉਧਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥dha(n)dhaa karat bihaanee aaudheh gun nidh naam na gaio ||1|| rahaau ||(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਇਸ ਦੀ) ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਪਦਾ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।You have spent your life engaged in worldly pursuits; you have not sung the Glorious Praises of the treasure of the Naam. ||1||Pause||ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਜੋਰਤ ਕਪਟੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਇਓ ॥kauddee kauddee jorat kapaTe anik jugat kar dhaio ||ਠੱਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਕੌਡੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਢੰਗ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਦੌੜਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ । Shell by shell, you accumulate money; in various ways, you work for this.ਬਿਸਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਗਨੀਅਹਿ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੧॥bisarat prabh kete dhukh gane'eeh mahaa mohanee khaio ||1||ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਆ ਵਾਪਰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।Forgetting God, you suffer awful pain beyond measure, and you are consumed by the Great Enticer, Maya. ||1||ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਨਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਮਾਇਓ ॥karahu anugrahu suaamee mere ganahu na moh kamaio ||ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—) ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ! ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ । Show Mercy to me, O my Lord and Master, and do not hold me to account for my actions.ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੨੫॥gobi(n)dh dhiaal kirapaal sukh saagar naanak har saranaio ||2||16||25||ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਹ ਕਰੀਂ ।੨।੧੬।੨੫।O merciful and compassionate Lord God, ocean of peace, Nanak has taken to Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||2||16||25||Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Gujri - 500,501

ਆਸਾ ॥aasaa ||Aasaa:ਆਨੀਲੇ ਕੁੰਭ ਭਰਾਈਲੇ ਊਦਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰਉ ॥aaneele ku(n)bh bharaieele uoodhak ttaakur kau isanaan karau ||ਘੜਾ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਾ ਕੇ (ਜੇ) ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਵਾਂ (ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਾਣੀ ਜੂਠਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਤਾਲੀ ਲੱਖ (ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਜੀਵ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।Bringing the pitcher, I fill it with water, to bathe the Lord.ਬਇਆਲੀਸ ਲਖ ਜੀ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਤੇ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਭੈਲਾ ਕਾਇ ਕਰਉ ॥੧॥biaalees lakh jee jal meh hote beettal bhailaa kai karau ||1||(ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸੀ (ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ; ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ) ਮੈਂ ਕਾਹਦੇ ਲਈ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਵਾਂ? ।੧।But 4.2 million species of beings are in the water - how can I use it for the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny? ||1||ਜਤ੍ਰ ਜਾਉ ਤਤ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਭੈਲਾ ॥jatr jaau tat beettal bhailaa ||ਮੈਂ ਜਿੱਧਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉੱਧਰ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ Wherever I go, the Lord is there.ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਕੇਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥mahaa ana(n)dh kare sadh kelaa ||1|| rahaau ||(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਬੜੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।He continually plays in supreme bliss. ||1||Pause||ਆਨੀਲੇ ਫੂਲ ਪਰੋਈਲੇ ਮਾਲਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਪੂਜ ਕਰਉ ॥aaneele fool paroieele maalaa ttaakur kee hau pooj karau ||ਫੁੱਲ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਮਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਕੇ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਾਂ (ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਫੁੱਲ ਜੂਠੇ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭੌਰੇ ਨੇ ਲੈ ਲਈ;I bring flowers to weave a garland, in worshipful adoration of the Lord.ਪਹਿਲੇ ਬਾਸੁ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਭਵਰਹ ਬੀਠਲ ਭੈਲਾ ਕਾਇ ਕਰਉ ॥੨॥pahile baas liee hai bhavareh beettal bhailaa kai karau ||2||(ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ) ਬੀਠਲ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਭੌਰੇ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸੀ (ਤੇ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਮੈਂ ਕਾਹਦੇ ਲਈ ਕਰਾਂ? ।੨।But the bumble bee has already sucked out the fragrance - how can I use it for the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny? ||2||ਆਨੀਲੇ ਦੂਧੁ ਰੀਧਾਈਲੇ ਖੀਰੰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਨੈਵੇਦੁ ਕਰਉ ॥aaneele dhoodh reedhaieele kheera(n) ttaakur kau naivedh karau ||ਦੁੱਧ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਖੀਰ ਰਿੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉੱਤਮ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਰੱਖਾਂ (ਤਾਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਜੂਠਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਚੋਣ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਜੂਠਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ;I carry milk and cook it to make pudding, with which to feed the Lord.ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੂਧੁ ਬਿਟਾਰਿਓ ਬਛਰੈ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਭੈਲਾ ਕਾਇ ਕਰਉ ॥੩॥pahile dhoodh biTaario bachharai beettal bhailaa kai karau ||3||(ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ) ਬੀਠਲ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਵੱਛੇ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸੀ (ਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਪੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ) ਮੈਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਭੇਟ ਧਰਾਂ? ।੩।But the calf has already tasted the milk - how can I use it for the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny? ||3||ਈਭੈ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਊਭੈ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਬੀਠਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਨਹੀ ॥e'eebhai beettal uoobhai beettal beettal bin sa(n)saar nahee ||(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਬੀਠਲ ਹੀ ਬੀਠਲ ਹੈ, ਬੀਠਲ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਜਗਤ ਰਹਿ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ । The Lord is here, the Lord is there; without the Lord, there is no world at all.ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਮਹੀ ॥੪॥੨॥thaan thana(n)tar naamaa pranavai poor rahio too(n) sarab mahee ||4||2||ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਉਸ ਬੀਠਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ—(ਹੇ ਬੀਠਲ!) ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ ।੪।੨।Prays Naam Dayv, O Lord, You are totally permeating and pervading all places and interspaces. ||4||2||Bhagat Naam Dev Ji in Raag Aasaa - 485

By The Grace Of The True Guru:ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਕਾਪੜੁ ਅੰਗਿ ਚੜਾਇਆ ॥dhirag dhirag khaiaa dhirag dhirag soiaa dhirag dhirag kaapaR a(n)g chaRaiaa ||Cursed, cursed is the food; cursed, cursed is the sleep; cursed, cursed are the clothes worn on the body.ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਿਉ ਜਿਤੁ ਹੁਣਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥dhirag sareer kuTa(n)b sahit siau jit hun khasam na paiaa ||Cursed is the body, along with family and friends, when one does not find his Lord and Master in this life.ਪਉੜੀ ਛੁੜਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਹਿਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥pauRee chhuRakee fir haath na aavai ahilaa janam gavaiaa ||1||He misses the step of the ladder, and this opportunity will not come into his hands again; his life is wasted, uselessly. ||1||ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਣਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥dhoojaa bhaau na dheiee liv laagan jin har ke charan visaare ||The love of duality does not allow him to lovingly focus his attention on the Lord; he forgets the Feet of the Lord.ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਤੈ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥jagajeevan dhaataa jan sevak tere tin ke tai dhookh nivaare ||1|| rahaau ||O Life of the World, O Great Giver, you eradicate the sorrows of your humble servants. ||1||Pause||ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਏਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥too dhiaal dhiaapat dhaataa kiaa eh ja(n)t vichaare ||You are Merciful, O Great Giver of Mercy; what are these poor beings?ਮੁਕਤ ਬੰਧ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸਾ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥mukat ba(n)dh sabh tujh te hoe aaisaa aakh vakhaane ||All are liberated or placed into bondage by You; this is all one can say.ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਧ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੨॥guramukh hovai so mukat kaheeaai manamukh ba(n)dh vichaare ||2||One who becomes Gurmukh is said to be liberated, while the poor self-willed manmukhs are in bondage. ||2||ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥so jan mukat jis ek liv laagee sadhaa rahai har naale ||He alone is liberated, who lovingly focuses his attention on the One Lord, always dwelling with the Lord.ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਚੈ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥tin kee gahan gat kahee na jaiee sachai aap savaare ||His depth and condition cannot be described. The True Lord Himself embellishes him.ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੇ ਸਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰੇ ॥੩॥bharam bhulaane s manamukh kahe'eeh naa auravaar na paare ||3||Those who wander around, deluded by doubt, are called manmukhs; they are neither on this side, nor on the other side. ||3||ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਲੇ ॥jis no nadhar kare soiee jan paae gur kaa sabadh sam(h)aale ||That humble being, who is blessed by the Lord's Glance of Grace obtains Him, and contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad.ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥har jan maiaa maeh nisataare ||In the midst of Maya, the Lord's servant is emancipated.ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਾਲਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥naanak bhaag hovai jis masatak kaaleh maar bidhaare ||4||1||O Nanak, one who has such destiny inscribed upon his forehead, conquers and destroys death. ||4||1||Guru Amar Daas Ji in Raag Bilaaval - 796,797

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:ਸ੍ਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥srab nidhaan pooran guradhev ||1|| rahaau ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।All treasures come from the Perfect Divine Guru. ||1||Pause||ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਨਰ ਜੀਵੇ ॥har har naam japat nar jeeve ||(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ । Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the man lives.ਮਰਿ ਖੁਆਰੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰ ਥੀਵੇ ॥੧॥mar khuaar saakat nar theeve ||1||ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੱੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੧।The faithless cynic dies in shame and misery. ||1||ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥raam naam hoaa rakhavaaraa ||(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਰਾਖਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ । The Name of the Lord has become my Protector.ਝਖ ਮਾਰਉ ਸਾਕਤੁ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ॥੨॥jhakh maarau saakat vechaaraa ||2||ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਿਆ ਝਖਾਂ ਮਾਰੇ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ।੨।The wretched, faithless cynic makes only useless efforts. ||2||ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਚਹਿ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥ni(n)dhaa kar kar pacheh ghanere ||ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਗੋਂ) ਖਿੱਝਦੇ (ਹੀ) ਹਨ । Spreading slander, many have been ruined.ਮਿਰਤਕ ਫਾਸ ਗਲੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਪੈਰੇ ॥੩॥miratak faas galai sir paire ||3||(ਆਤਮਕ) ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।Their necks, heads and feet are tied by death's noose. ||3||ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਮ ॥kahu naanak japeh jan naam ||ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਹਿਮ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਉਠ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਦੌੜਿਆ ਹਾਂ । I have been trying to liberate myself, running around in the ten directions.ਘਟ ਹੀ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਮਰਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ghaT hee bheetar basai nira(n)jan taa ko maram na paiaa ||2||ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ।੨।The pure, immaculate Lord abides deep within my heart, but I do not understand the secret of His mystery. ||2||ਨਾਹਿਨ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਕਛੁ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਕਉਨੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਅਬ ਕੀਜੈ ॥naahin gun naahin kachh jap tap kaun karam ab keejai ||ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ) ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਨਹੀਂ (ਜੋ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ, ਫਿਰ) ਹੁਣ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ? I have no merit, and I know nothing about meditation or austerities; what should I do now?ਨਾਨਕ ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਰਨਾਗਤਿ ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੩॥੨॥naanak haar pario saranaagat abhai dhaan prabh dheejai ||3||2||ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) O my mind, vibrate the Lord's Name, and all your affairs shall be resolved.ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥gur poorai har naam dhiraRaiaa bin naavai jeevan birathaa || rahaau ||(ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ । ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉThe Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord's Name within me; without the Name, life is useless. ||Pause||ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਫਾਥਾ ॥bin gur mooR bhe hai manamukh te moh maiaa nit faathaa ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ Without the Guru, the self-willed manmukhs are foolish and ignorant; they are forever entangled in emotional attachment to Maya.ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਨ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਤਿਨ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਥਾ ॥੨॥tin saadhoo charan na seve kabahoo tin sabh janam akaathaa ||2||ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨They never serve the feet of the Holy; their lives are totally useless. ||2||ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥jin saadhoo charan saadh pag seve tin safalio janam sanaathaa ||ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ Those who serve at the feet of the Holy, the feet of the Holy, their lives are made fruitful, and they belong to the Lord.ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਾ ॥੩॥mo kau keejai dhaas dhaas dhaasan ko har dhiaa dhaar jaga(n)naathaa ||3||ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ ।੩।Make me the slave of the slave of the slaves of the Lord; bless me with Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe. ||3||ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਿਉ ਚਾਲਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਾ ॥ham a(n)dhule giaanaheen agiaanee kiau chaaleh maarag pa(n)thaa ||ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ I am blind, ignorant and totally without wisdom; how can I walk on the Path?ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਲਹ ਮਿਲੰਥਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ham a(n)dhule kau gur a(n)chal dheejai jan naanak chaleh mila(n)thaa ||4||1||ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ!
