Newstalk Technology Correspondent takes a look at the Huawei Watch GT3 and also answers listeners tech questions. Review Notes Huawei Watch GT 3 Priced from €229 Extensive fitness and health tracking at a great price — although less than full support for iPhones The Huawei Watch GT 3 comes in two sizes with some key design differences. The larger 46mm model has a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display with a bevelled edge and etched dial. The Watch GT 3 looks stunning with unlimited contrast, vibrant colours and pin sharpness. The Watch GT 3 is super energy efficient and can last up to 14 days. Even with heavy use, you should still be able to eke out a week on a single charge. The Huawei Watch GT 3 features all-day SpO2, heart rate and temperature tracking GPS accuracy has improved and now includes features like Route Back that can guide you back when you lose your direction. Overall, the Huawei Watch GT 3 is a solid smartwatch that features a stunning display, exceptional battery life, extensive fitness and health tracking at a great price. However, some may be turned off by the lack of contactless payments and less than full support for iPhones.

Newstalk Technology Correspondent Jess Kelly reviews the indoor/outdoor BBQ from George Foreman Review Notes This is a 'quick, efficient and clean alternative to a gas or charcoal BBQ', it acts as both a freestanding outdoor grill and an indoor grill, so you can use it all year round, regardless of the weather. It's a winner for those short on space too. And as it's an electric grill, it's ideal for apartments, patios, caravans and other areas where charcoal or propane can't be used. There won't be any need to mess about with gas cylinders or charcoal. Our Technology Correspondent Jess Kelly joined Pat this morning with a review of the Oppo Find X5 Pro and Jess also answered listeners' technology queries.  Review Notes. Good: Overall, the quality of the Find X5 Pro is excellent, from its display to the camera to the performance. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and can handle everyday tasks without breaking a sweat.   Not so good: If you are a fan of camera gimmicks, the Find X5 Pro is light on this front. Instead it focuses on delivering a decent performance in low light, which it more or less delivers on.   The rest: The phone comes with fast charging – 80 watt wired and 50 watt wireless charging – so you can power up and be on your way in a matter of minutes.   Verdict An admirable follow-up to the Find X3 Pro, even if it doesn’t make some of the big leaps of its predecessor.  Listen and subscribe to The Pat Kenny Show on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify.      Download, listen and subscribe on the Newstalk App.    You can also listen to Newstalk live on newstalk.com or on Alexa, by adding the Newstalk skill and asking: 'Alexa, play Newstalk'.
Newstalk Technology Correspondent Jess Kelly joined Pat this morning with a review of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio. Review Details: Windows 11 Intel® Core™ i5-11300H Processor RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 256 GB SSD Quad HD touchscreen / 120 Hz Battery life: Up to 19 hours This is the latest in the Surface range that goes up against the Apple MacBook Pro. At first glance, this device is a laptop: it opens like a laptop and has a conventional keyboard. But if you reach for the top of the screen, grab it at either side and tilt it back, you'll quickly see why it's different.    If you pull the screen forward, it tents over the keyboard. There's another set of magnets here to hold it in place in what Microsoft calls 'Stage mode'.  This is an ideal position for watching videos, making presentations, or working with an external keyboard.  Pull the screen forward again and it folds down against the keyboard, into 'Studio mode'. Here you're working with it as if it was a tablet, with the screen at a slight angle. If you've been using Microsoft's Surface devices, you'll find the Surface Laptop Studio a pleasing upgrade. This morning on the show Jess Kelly our Technology Correspondent reviewed the Samsung S22 Ultra and answered listeners tech questions. Samsung S22 Ultra review notes If you were a fan of the Galaxy Note, this is the phone for you. This 6.8-inch Amoled display is one of the best screens you can get on any smartphone. As usual, the cameras are a particularly strong card for Samsung’s top flagship phone. Samsung has made the S-Pen handy and beginner-friendly, The S22’s battery life is between good and excellent. The S22 Ultra comes at three different price points here: €1,299 (8GB Ram and 128GB storage), €1,399 (12GB, 256GB) and €1,499 (12GB, 512GB).   it always lasted at least a full day.
Jess Kelly joins us again and this week Jess brings us a review of the Nokia Clarity Earbuds. Review notes  Inside their comfortable, ear-hugging form, the Nokia Clarity Earbuds are packed full of features. The unique light ring serves as a stylish and subtle indicator to others that you're on a call, while the dual mic with Qualcomm® cVc™ technology reduces background noise. Enjoy superb sound quality for up to 45 hours thanks to the charging carry case. ideal for someone looking for comfortable in-ears to wear while working The outside of the headphones light up when you’re on a call The call quality is very impressive They are very lightweight - but the charging case is not as neat as others such as the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 They pair very easily with Android and Apple devices Listen and subscribe to The Pat Kenny Show on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify.      Download, listen and subscribe on the Newstalk App.    You can also listen to Newstalk live on newstalk.com or on Alexa, by adding the Newstalk skill and asking: 'Alexa, play Newstalk'.

Jess Kelly reviews the whoop 4.0 which is a different kind of wearable. It doesn’t have a screen, but Whoop 4.0 is possibly the smartest bit of training kit you should can if you are trying to improve your athletic performance. The small sensor tracks your heart rate, your blood oxygen level, your skin temperature, and your sleep, silently collecting data and shuffling it over to the app on your smartphone to be assessed. Our Technology correspondent Jess Kelly joined Pat this morning on the show with a review of the Samsung Galaxy S series for 2022. Samsung's flagship Galaxy S series line-up for 2022 delivers three different phone sizes: the smaller-than-previous 6.1-inch S22 model; the 6.8-inch and curved-screen of the S22 Ultra (complete with integrated S Pen stylus); and this, the S22+, which on account of its 6.6-inch flat panel might well sit in the ideal sweet spot for most people.
