“The greatest strategy of the enemy is convincing us he’s not there. But the Bible makes it clear—we have a real enemy with real schemes. In this week’s message from Joshua, we unpack how spiritual battles are often hidden beneath what we see. The good news? Truth exposes every lie, and in Christ, we have everything we need to overcome.”
Sometimes we think the greatest threats to our faith come from outside pressures or difficult circumstances. But Scripture shows us that the enemy often works by distracting us from the voice of God. In this week’s message from Book of Joshua chapter 1, Joshua is reminded that the key to courage and success is simple: listen to God and do what he says. As Joshua receives his assignment and leads the people forward, we see that listening to God unlocks the identity, promises, and empowerment the enemy wants to steal. When we learn to listen—and obey—we begin to live fully in what God has already given us.
Spiritual warfare is often misunderstood as something dramatic or distant, but Scripture shows that the real battle often begins much deeper—in our understanding of God and our identity in Christ. In this week’s message kicking off a new series in the book of Joshua, the focus is on a truth the enemy would rather believers ignore: we must live by the wisdom and revelation the Holy Spirit gives. Looking at Joshua’s life and Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1, we see that God doesn’t just want us to know about Him—He wants His truth to become an unshakable reality in us. When believers linger in God’s presence and walk in obedience to what He reveals, our identity in Christ becomes secure, our faith grows stronger, and we begin to live with confidence in the power God has placed within us.
“Transformation" is a word we all want for our city, our families, and our church—but Acts 19 shows us where it actually begins: the human heart. In this week’s message, Pastor Jordan clarifies the Heart & Soul vision by reminding us that the battleground of the gospel isn’t primarily political, cultural, or geographical—it’s personal. As the Spirit transforms people from the inside out, Jesus is exalted, society shifts, and opposition rises. The call is simple and urgent: be saved, get connected, and live sent—because taken ground can be lost through compromise, but transformed hearts can change a world.
Being “Heart and Soul” isn’t just about belonging—it’s about advancing the mission of God together. In this week’s message from Ephesians 6 and Acts 19, we’re reminded that the church is called not only to take ground for the kingdom, but to faithfully occupy it. As the gospel takes root through Spirit-filled proclamation and prayer, God establishes radiating centers of influence that renew minds, confront competing worldviews, and ultimately bring transformation. When we understand that our battle is not against flesh and blood, we learn to persevere with courage, trusting that God uses ordinary faithfulness to accomplish extraordinary kingdom impact.
“Taking ground” can sound aggressive or political, but Scripture frames it as something far deeper: God’s people advancing His kingdom through faith, prayer, and proclamation—not fighting flesh and blood. In this week’s Heart and Soul message, we’re taken to 1 Samuel 14, where Jonathan and his armor-bearer step out with a simple “perhaps,” trusting that victory belongs to the Lord. From Genesis to the Great Commission, we see the consistent heartbeat of God: filling the earth with the knowledge of His glory. And in Ephesians 6, we’re reminded that taking ground requires spiritual strength and spiritual weapons—truth, righteousness, faith, the gospel, the Word, and Spirit-empowered prayer. As we live “heart and soul” together, we’re called to stop aiming our energy at the wrong enemy, lay down fear and distraction, and move forward in the authority of Jesus—boldly praying and boldly speaking until darkness gives way to light.
Church is often thought of as a place we attend, but Scripture invites us into something far deeper. In this week’s message launching the Heart and Soul series, Pastor Jon walks us through 1 Corinthians 12 to show that the body of Christ thrives when every person embraces their God-given role. We’re reminded that we’re not called to spectate, compare, or withdraw, but to belong, contribute, and walk together through both celebration and suffering. When we understand that no one else can do what God has uniquely created us to do, we begin to see that being “Heart and Soul” means playing an essential part in helping people go from death to life.
