If it enters the United States directly, it pays 100% tariff. It reaches the American consumer at over 36,000 dollars before logistics, distribution and margin. Impossible to compete. But that same car, assembled at the Camaçari plant in Bahia, Brazil — where BYD invested 620 million dollars — with sufficient Latin American regional content, enters Mexico through ACE-55, the economic complementation agreement with Mercosur, paying between 0% and 16% tariff.
