Description
As Steve Jobs once observed, people often don't know what they want until you show it to them. Sacred Grounds
Now, we are certainly not comparing ourselves to Steve Jobs (that would be absolutely ridiculous), but we ARE saying that Sacred Grounds featuring Robby and Uncle Paulie covers a part of baseball that you never knew you wanted to hear - the story behind the story.....and then some!
In Sacred Grounds, the book, you'll hear firsthand accounts from people connected to some of baseball's most unforgettable moments. There's Mike Bacsik, who embraced his place in history after giving up Barry Bonds' record-breaking 756th home run and later built a successful career in media. Jeff Huson shares what it was like standing just feet away at third base on September 6, 1995, when Cal Ripken Jr. broke baseball's most unbreakable record — the consecutive games streak. And Larry Doby Jr. offers a rare look at what it was like growing up as the son of Hall of Famer Larry Doby, one of the most important — and often under-recognized — pioneers in the game.
Sacred Grounds featuring Robby and Uncle Paulie brings all of this to life....plus we will make you laugh. (Mainly Robby, but we'll let Paul give it his best shot, too!)
Paul Hogan is a retired, 23-year City of Pittsburgh firefighter He has a deep baseball knowledge, humor, bad haircut and passion for getting to all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums. He's at 26 and counting, with only Houston, Toronto, Tampa Bay & San Diego remaining.
Robby Incmikoski spent 16 seasons as a TV reporter & host in baseball with three teams - Minnesota Twins (2009 to 2012), Pittsburgh Pirates (2013-2023) and Texas Rangers (2024). Then in 2025, he took a look through his contact list and came up with Sacred Grounds, the book, which has photos & stories from 120 people from all across America's Pastime. He traveled the MLB circuit with a digital camera, starting on Opening Day, 2017 at Fenway Park in Boston and ending in Oakland at the late, great Coliseum in 2024 while working with the Rangers, and took photos from all around each of MLB's 30 ballparks!
This show brings all of the above to life....and please, tell Paul he is as funny as he thinks he is!
