Description

You're in your 30s or 40s. You're building something, raising someone, and trying to take care of yourself at the same time. The questions are piling up: about your health, your hormones, your relationships, your ambition. Most days, no one in the room has the right answers.

IN IT is where those questions get taken seriously.

Jordan Harper is a board-certified nurse practitioner, founder and CEO of Barefaced, and a mom of four.

Ashley Buckler is Barefaced's Chief Brand Officer, a mom, and the kind of person who blends ambition with romanticizing life

Together, they bring in leading experts — and occasionally each other — to work through the topics that actually matter in this chapter: hormones, mental load, marriage, mindset, perimenopause, parenting, ambition, and everything in between.

No highlight reels. No hustle culture. No toxic optimism. Just honest conversations and better information, so you can move through this season of life with more clarity and less noise.

These are foundational years. Make them count.

If you're someone who feels guilty lying on the couch while your spouse is up and moving, or who fills every spare minute so you never feel like you're wasting time, you'll recognize yourself in this conversation. Mom guilt is real, but a lot of it is a story we tell ourselves. This is a girlfriend chat about mom guilt and where it actually comes from. We talk about why our worth isn't tied to our productivity, how the expectations we carry often trace back to the way we were raised, and why setting your own standards (like being home for bedtime or capping how many nights you travel) can loosen guilt's grip. We get honest about trying to be full-time at everything, the trad wife and girl boss algorithms pulling us in opposite directions, and why being a seven out of 10 in some areas right now is more than okay. We also talk about protecting your energy, staying connected to friends when you can't keep up with the group chat, and why the words you put after I am matter so much. Wherever you are in this season, you're not navigating it alone. Mentioned in this episode: Essentialism by Greg McKeown Start with Yourself by Emma Grede Hype song: New Name Written Down in Glory by Charity Gayle and David Gentiles
If you've ever wondered whether you can really have it all, or felt behind because your life isn't following someone else's timeline, this conversation is a reset. We sat down with Anne Mahlum, founder of [solidcore] and the nonprofit Back on My Feet, to talk about going all in without a plan B, knowing your number before you exit, and why your money mindset matters no matter what's in your bank account. Anne also opens up about meeting her husband at 42 and becoming a mom at 45, and why there's no such thing as early or late. However your story is unfolding, we hope this reminds you there's no wrong order to build a life you love. Season 2 is here! Most of us are building a life without ever stopping to ask if it's the one we actually want. Sahil Bloom did the math and changed everything in 45 days. He is the author of The Five Types of Wealth and this conversation will stay with you. The math that changed Sahil's entire life and why you can't unhear it The gap between the priorities you say you have and the priorities your actions reveal Why clarity doesn't come from thinking harder, it comes from slowing down A single identity-defining statement that makes saying no feel easy Why your phone is pulling your cognitive load even when you're not looking at it The two questions to ask yourself at the start of every season of life Work-life balance vs. work-life harmony, and why the distinction actually matters What your kids are absorbing from watching you Awareness is perishable. This conversation is the push to actually do something with it. Follow Jordan Harper on Instagram Follow Ashley Buckler on Instagram Follow In It podcast on Instagram
You've read the books. You've done the work. You know better, and you still can't shake it. This episode is our season one finale, and it's one of the most honest conversations we've had this season. Ashley takes us through her therapy journey and we discuss:  Anxiety that lives in the body, not just the mind  Why "safety is felt, not learned" and what that actually means for the way you've been trying to think your way out of hard feelings  Our nervous systems on overdrive Feelings as facts vs. feelings as feelings Identity claims we make from a single moment of frustration Why worry is just a false sense of control The train you don't have to get on You are not alone and this is just the beginning. Loren Castle was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at 22, and baking became her therapy. That therapy became Sweet Loren's, now in 35,000+ supermarkets, with Loren at the helm. In this episode, we get into how she survived cancer at 22 and the mindset shift that turned it into fuel instead of fear, the scrappy beginnings (a reused chocolate box, a toaster oven on the subway, and the Whole Foods meeting that started it all), and the hard lessons in packaging, branding, and customer feedback that came from standing in front of real customers every day. We also chat about marriage, the therapy work it took to stop taking each other's triggers personally, and what it meant to finally bring in a president to run the day-to-day, giving her marriage, parenting, and the business room to breathe. We love a story about building something from nothing, and what it costs along the way. Follow Loren: @lorenbcastle Follow Sweet Loren's: @sweetlorens
