Abundance isn't something you chase. It's something you are.
On a recent beach walk, I got to thinking about a friend, a fairly well-known spiritual teacher who has struggled a lot around money. It got me thinking about a disconnect I see all the time: so many deeply spiritual people, tapped into spirit and doing beautiful things in the world, still experience a sense of lack around monetary abundance. So I turned the question over to the guides, and what they shared blew me away.
In this episode, we explore where the belief that spirituality and wealth don't mix comes from, why money can pull us out of the natural flow of giving and receiving, and what keeps so many of us stuck in a sense of lack. Most importantly, the guides offer a way through: a shift in how we hold money, a practice for clearing the old wounds and beliefs beneath our relationship with it, and a reminder that money is only one expression of a much larger flow of abundance already available to us.
Key takeaways from this episode:
• Spiritual connection and financial abundance are not opposites, though many of us were taught to believe they are.
• The idea of noble poverty runs through much of our spiritual history, and it still shapes how we relate to money today.
• Money is only a representation of abundance, and clinging to it can actually take us out of the flow.
• When we focus on what's missing, we stay stuck in scarcity.
• Abundance is energy, and money is just one of the forms it can take.
• Many of our beliefs about money were formed in childhood. When we bring love and awareness to these limiting beliefs, they release.
When we stop treating spirituality and abundance as opposites, both are free to flow.

AI can think. But does that mean it's conscious? My friend and returning guest Chris Niebauer is a neuropsychologist and the bestselling author of No Self, No Problem, The No Self, No Problem Workbook, and his new book, The Abstract Mind. He has spent years exploring the relationship between the brain, the thinking mind, and consciousness, which makes him the perfect person to join me for this fascinating conversation about AI.
In this episode, we explore a question that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore: Can artificial intelligence actually be conscious? The answer may depend on something even more fundamental: whether thinking and consciousness are the same thing. Our conversation challenges the enormous value our society places on the thinking mind and considers what AI might be revealing about our own consciousness. If a machine can think faster and perhaps even better than we can, what does that tell us about who we really are? We explore consciousness as something far greater than thought, intuition as a deeper form of knowing, and what becomes possible when the mind stops running the show and becomes a tool for something greater. Key takeaways from this episode:
Thinking and consciousness are not the same thing. AI's ability to manipulate language and information doesn't necessarily answer the question of whether it is conscious.
We have spent centuries defining ourselves by our ability to think. AI may be forcing us to reconsider whether thinking is really what makes us who we are.
The thinking mind is an extraordinary tool, but we may rely on it far more than we need to.
If consciousness doesn't originate in the brain, we may need to rethink what it means for AI to be conscious.
Intuition comes from a deeper place than thought. When we quiet the thinking mind, we create more space for that deeper knowing to guide us.
The mind doesn't have to lead. It can become a tool for intuition, allowing us to move through life with greater flow, ease, and trust.
Maybe the rise of artificial intelligence isn't just asking us to understand machines differently. Maybe it's inviting us to understand ourselves differently too.Explore more of Chris Niebauer’s work on the mind, consciousness, and the science of self at ChrisNiebauerPhD.com

Is communicating with spirit reserved for a gifted few, or available to us all? Recently I came across a post from a well-respected medium pushing back on the popular idea that everyone is a medium. Her concern was a fair one: not everyone is trained to receive clear, accurate messages for other people, and treating mediumship as universal can gloss over the real skill and responsibility that professional work requires. I understand that completely. And I still believe we're all mediums.
We're all spiritual beings having a human experience, and we're all innately connected to the spiritual realm, including our loved ones in spirit. Whether you train to receive messages from spirit professionally, or simply communicate for your own edification, the ability belongs to everyone. In this episode I share my own unconventional path into mediumship, why I resisted the word for years, and why I've come to believe that integrity, love, and a genuine desire to serve matter more than proving anything or doing it someone else's way.Key takeaways from this episode:
Connection goes both ways. You can reach toward spirit, and spirit is always reaching toward you
Mediumship doesn't look the same for everyone. It might come through dreams, signs, words, feelings, or a simple knowing
We often feel blocked because we're expecting too much, or waiting for the information to arrive in a certain way. Start with what's already flowing
Stay curious and playful. Spirit isn't serious, and forcing it only gets in the way
Grief can cloud our ability to sense a loved one's presence. You're still connected even when you can't feel it
If you feel called to do this professionally, follow that call with integrity, love, and a real desire to serve
You don't have to become a medium. You already are one.

You've probably heard of near-death experiences. But what about shared death experiences? In this episode, I sit down with Reverend Dr. Scott Taylor, president of the Expanded Awareness Institute and a researcher and guide in near-death and shared death experiences. Scott has spent decades exploring the nonphysical universe and helping others learn to access expanded states of consciousness.
Scott's journey began with an extraordinary experience at the bedside of a seven-year-old boy named Nolan. As Nolan died, Scott experienced Nolan's mother, who had died just six days earlier, coming to meet him. Scott joined them as they moved into the light, while at the same time remaining fully conscious and present in the hospital room. Fifteen years later, another person who had been in the room that day independently described an almost identical experience. We talk about what shared death experiences can teach us about consciousness, the loving nature of the universe, and what happens when we leave our physical bodies. We also explore Scott's work helping people intentionally access expanded states of consciousness, connect with loved ones and guides, and experience the nonphysical universe without having to nearly die to get there.Key takeaways from this episode:
A near-death experience happens when you leave your own physical body and return. In a shared death experience, you witness or even participate in someone else's transition.
Shared death experiences offer a powerful glimpse into what happens when we die. In William Peters' research with 900 people who had shared death experiences, every person described a benevolent afterlife.
Consciousness isn't limited by the physical body. During his shared death experience, Scott experienced himself as fully in the light and fully present in the hospital room at the same time.
We don't have to wait for a near-death or shared death experience to explore the nonphysical universe. Scott teaches people how to intentionally enter expanded states of consciousness and explore these realms for themselves.
Outside the physical world, there is no linear time. Scott believes our other lifetimes are happening simultaneously and that their wisdom is available to us now.
Intuition has a different energy signature than the thinking mind. The more we listen to it and trust it, the stronger that connection becomes.
These abilities aren't something we need to learn from scratch. As Scott says, spiritual exploration is about remembering what we already know.
Shared death experiences show us that consciousness persists after we die, and offer a glimpse of what lies beyond the physical realm.

What you're reaching for arrives when you loosen your grasp. We cling to the things we want, a job, a dream, the people we love, sure that if we just try hard enough, we can keep them from slipping away. But so often, that very effort is what stands in our way. In this episode, three beautiful souls came for guidance with very different concerns, and the same message came through for all of them: you can loosen your hold. Everything is already working out for you.
Key takeaways from this episode:
What you believe shapes what you live. Pretending you don't have a fear won't move you past it, but meeting it with compassion will.
Overthinking a goal can create more resistance than momentum. When we relax the mind, the path forward appears.
Celebrate the abundance already flowing in your life. Appreciating what you have keeps you in the flow of receiving.
Don't do it if it's not fun. When sharing your gifts starts to feel like a burden, it may be a sign you've drifted from your path.
With the people we love, offer your guidance once, then trust them to find their own way.
Even when you're afraid for someone, their path is theirs to walk. Trust that their soul knows what it's doing.
When we ease our grip and trust the flow, what we've been longing for finally has room to find us.Join me and Dr. Larry Farwell for The Science of Creating Miracles retreat. Find the latest event details here: https://cactusblossomretreat.com/upcoming-events-two
