Many of us have questions about eternity. Will my dog be there? What will life look like? Will we eat and drink? What will our days be filled with? In this sermon, Meghan Wierwille shows us visions of the future from scripture. We may know exactly what the future holds, but we know that since God is in control, it will be better than anything we could imagine.

Where is heaven? It seems like a simple question that everyone knows the answer to, but appearances aren't always what they seem! In this sermon, Pastor Will explains that the location where Christians go after judgment is a restored earth, also known as the kingdom, glory, paradise, or the garden. Once we know what to look for, we can learn more about what eternal life looks like for us.

Judgment. In many ways, this seems like a scary word. Many of us have been taught to fear judgment. In this sermon, Pastor Will builds a theology of judgment, showing that judgment happens after resurrection, that Christians do face judgment, and that the judgment for the wicked will be the second death. What happens when we die? This is one of the most profound questions that we face as human beings. In this sermon, Pastor Will begins this new series on The World to Come by working through what the Bible says about death as sleep and the limits of what scripture says, as well as the limits of our own understanding. No matter what exactly happens when we die, we have confidence that God will take care of us.

Last week, Pastor Will described a key aspect of the Compass community - our desire to keep the unity and build community with those who have different perspectives than us on doctrine. This week, in another virtual sermon, Will walks us through a case study on the perspectives that Compass's leaders hold on Jesus and the holy spirit. The God of the Bible is the Father. God's unique Son is Jesus, our Lord, Messiah, and King. And the holy spirit is the power of God (and later, after the ascension, Jesus) at work in the world.
