Description

Join Lee, Darren, Jim and Elton as they waffle, wonder and jabber on about film, geek news, video games and any other tangential rubbish that spring to mind, before reviewing a movie from yesteryear. Removing the Rose Tinted Specs to see if a film really deserves its classic status or the Sh*t Covered Goggles to see if a bad film is actually as awful as its reputation.

Welcome to this weeks episode. Sadly Jim is off ill this week so unfortunately theres no adults in charge.  This week Elton celebrates Predator Badlands and puts forward a theory that the predator franchise might be more consistently better than the Alien one. Meanwhile Darren has a birthday and is denied his milkshake, but manages to get a beer in london for under a fiver which counts as a miracle worthy of note. Lee on the other hand goes full cocktail hour for his wedding anniversary, which is handy as he can drink away some of the sights he beheld at the very public Tattoo festival at the London Excel centre. He also managed to catch up with the Internet movie darling of the hour Coyote vs Acme. Then after some brief feedback its on to this weeks movie... Or as we should have called it group therapy as we ignite our lightsabers to review Star Wars The Force Awakens Media Discussed This Week Predator Badlands - Disney + Absolute Batman - DC comics Coyote vs Acme - Theatrical Release The Gentlemen Season 2 - Netflix Star Wars The Force Awakens - Disney +

This week there is no Jim. However, what we do have is discussions about how to live with just one tea spoon, SDCC trailers, Supergirl, The Odyssey, Disclosure Day, Masters of the universe and the discovery that Lynx body spray came in Marmite flavour. Then after some feedback for Colossus The Forbin Project its on to this weeks film Is it a brave new step forward for representation in Superhero movies? Or is it a tired, by the numbers, focus grouped to within an inch of its life, flow diagram of a movie with some pretty colours that aims for representation and actually falls in to parody stereotypes? We'll find out soon enough as we review The Blue Beetle Media Discussed This Week Ozark - Netflix San Diego Comicon Trailers - Doomsday, Blade Runner 2099, Lanterns, Reacher The Furious - Amazon VoD Supergirl - Amazon VoD The Odyssey - Theatrical Release Disclosure Day - Waste paper bin in the X files writers room Masters of the Universe - Amazon Prime Blue Beetle - Netflix
Jim tempts the guys with retro gaming hardware, Elton visits a castle and is shocked to discover that his Nintendo Wii is now more "retro" than previously thought. Darren has a problem with ants that may or may not be lured in by certain fluids and then proceeds to go into a 45 minute long burbling cheese dream over a My Chemical Romance concert he attended (featuring guest appearance from Lee's daughter Lisa via Whatsapp). Eventually we get to Lee's week and discover why the podcast has been missing for nearly three weeks. Plus Lee hands in his geek cred card as he abandons a movie double bill. And he gets rather vexed at a movie about a guy with a shiny helmet. Normalcy returns briefly as we get round to reviewing a frightneningly precient 1970s sci-fi movie Colossus The Forbin Project Media Discussed This Week.
