Description

Phoebe Burgess and Hannah Ferrier have a lot to say - and very little they’re not prepared to share.

On (Over)Share, journalist and content creator Phoebe Burgess and Below Deck star Hannah Ferrier get into the conversations that often don’t even make the group chat on relationships, dating, marriage, divorce, sex, parenting, friendships, careers, money, bodies, ageing - and all the other stuff that gets more complicated as life goes on.

You know the moment you realise you are so stretched being the mum, the partner, the ex, the ‘divorcee’, the employee, the friend, the organiser, the fixer - and somewhere in the middle of it all you start wondering where you went?

Phoebe and Hannah have lived very different lives, have very different opinions and absolutely won’t agree on everything. Each week they bring their own stories, questionable decisions, strong takes and unsolicited advice to the things everyone is talking about - and plenty of things we probably should be talking about more.

It’s funny, personal, occasionally inappropriate, and always honest.

Nothing’s off limits. Probably too much information. That’s (Over)Share.

Elsa Hosk and Barbara Palvin’s return to the Victoria’s Secret runway has everyone talking about postpartum bodies again. So… are we celebrating women, or quietly slipping back into “bounce back” culture?  Hannah and Phoebe unpack the pressure to get your body “back” after having a baby, and what those first weeks postpartum actually looked like for them.  Plus, Phoebe opens up about her breast reduction, Hannah reveals she’s planning one of her own, and the girls talk mum guilt, doing something for yourself and whether baby number two is still on Hannah's cards.  They also get honest about spending money on yourself when you have a family, and why those first weeks with a newborn looked very different to anything you’d see on a runway.  This is (Over)Share, where nothing is better left unsaid xo    THE END BITS Follow us on instagram/ TikTok @oversharethepodcast  HOSTED BY: Hannah Ferrier & Phoebe Burgess  PRODUCED BY: Sally Best  VIDEO PRODUCER: Becky Lillyman EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: Shauna Anderson SET: A big thank you to Cozey for helping us bring the (Over)Share set to life. How do we raise boys to become good men while teaching our daughters they should never have to make themselves smaller to stay safe?  In this bonus episode, Phoebe and Hannah continue the conversation about raising kids in a world where the messages around sex, consent, respect and relationships seem to reach them younger and younger. Phoebe opens up about how differently her son and daughter process the world, what she’s learning from raising a boy and why the men around him matter.  The girls also unpack the impossible balance of raising daughters to know they can wear what they want, go where they want and expect respect, while still having the very real conversations about safety every mum wishes she didn’t need to have.  Plus, Phoebe looks back at her own university days and the hazing rituals, drinking and situations she once accepted as completely normal, and why becoming a mum has made her see those experiences very differently.  Because when it comes to raising the next generation, maybe it really is bit by bit.  This is (Over)Share, where nothing is better left unsaid xo    THE END BITS Content note: This episode discusses sexual assault, domestic violence and allegations of sexual misconduct.  Follow us on instagram/ TikTok @oversharethepodcast  HOSTED BY: Hannah Ferrier & Phoebe Burgess  PRODUCED BY: Sally Best  VIDEO PRODUCER: Becky Lillyman EXECUTIVE PRODUCER: Shauna Anderson SET: A big thank you to Cozey for helping us bring the (Over)Share set to life. Every day, another headline. Another woman. Another conversation we can’t afford to ignore.  This week, Phoebe and Hannah unpack the stories dominating the headlines, from the Cornell 7 sexual assault allegations to toxic sporting cultures, the behaviours we continue to excuse and the institutions that close ranks to protect their own. They explore why men need to start speaking up, how survivors process trauma and why speaking out isn’t always as straightforward as it seems. Amidst the discussion Hannah reveals a frightening assault at sea, and Phoebe unleashes on the NRL culture. Plus, they tackle the bigger question: how do we raise boys to become good men, break toxic cycles and build a culture rooted in respect, accountability and change?  Plus the girls talk parenting unpacking the conversations we need to be having with our kids about sex and consent, and Phoebe reveals the childhood routine that might explain her impressive elocution. And, because no episode of (Over)Share would be complete without a debate, they settle the all-important question: are siblings invited to kids’ birthday parties, or absolutely not? Imagine finding out your eight-year friendship might be over… via Instagram. That’s where Hannah’s at this week, and she’s bringing the whole thing to Phoebe. The girls talk friendship breakups, the subjects that can blow up even the closest relationships and whether you can stay friends when your beliefs are worlds apart. Plus, the girls talk AI taking over motherhood, Phoebe’s questionable phone habits and, somehow, wife swapping. We want your friendship horror stories. What was the landmine topic that blew yours up? Did you fix it? And are there some differences you just have to agree never to talk about? We’ve spent the last two episodes going through the headlines, but we’re not done just yet. Hannah has a few more questions for Phoebe, and this time she wants to know what was actually happening behind some of the stories everyone thought they knew.  Phoebe talks about the period when her private life became very public, why she couldn't see things then the way she sees them now and the warning she definitely wasn’t ready to hear.  Plus, why she hasn’t dated in seven years, the reason she’s keeping the Burgess surname and what dating would look like for her now...and why she’s not ready to go there.   And because this is (Over)Share, the girls eventually descend into made-up husbands, sperm donor rumours, accidental birthday invitations to Thailand and head lice.  Welcome to (Over)Share. Nothing’s better left unsaid.  THE END BITS If anything discussed in this episode brings something up for you, support is available through Lifeline on 13 11 14.
