Will I know their face? Will I still be me? If you’ve ever wondered what our bodies will be like after we die, you’re not alone, and you’re not being morbid or faithless. In this message from Church in the Wild, Pastor Léonce walks through 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 and Paul’s surprising answer to the question of the resurrection body. Paul doesn’t give us a diagram. He gives us a seed. In “A Bare Kernel,” we see why the body we bury is not the body that is to be, and why the resurrection body is not a ghost but more alive than the one we have now. If you’ve lost someone, are afraid of losing someone, or have ever looked at your own body and wondered what God is doing with it, this message is for you. The body you see is just the seed. God is growing something beyond imagining. ___________________________  Thank you for listening to United Church's podcast! Subscribe for weekly sermons. You still have their number in your phone. You still talk to them in the car. What if your refusal to accept death isn’t a malfunction, but a memory of a world where it was never supposed to happen? In this message, Pastor Léonce walks through 1 Corinthians 15:12-34, where Paul follows the denial of the resurrection all the way down and then turns the argument with two words: “But in fact, Christ has been raised.” Along the way, we look at why the Bible calls death an enemy, and why your grief and anger aren’t a lack of faith. Death is an enemy with an expiration date, and it does not get the last word. ___________________________  Thank you for listening to United Church's podcast! Subscribe for weekly sermons. When faith feels thin, it’s easy to think something is wrong with you. In this message from 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Pastor Léonce shows us that the gospel isn’t something we manufacture. It’s something we receive: a report handed down through history, true on the mornings you feel it and true on the mornings you don’t. Along the way, we look at one of the oldest creeds in the New Testament, what Paul’s word “ektrōma” tells us about grace, and why Jesus went to Peter first. Because grace doesn’t deny your diagnosis. It overrules the verdict. Whether you’re a believer in a dry season or a skeptic who wants to look closely at the evidence, this message is for you. ___________________________  Thank you for listening to United Church's podcast! What does it look like to actually experience God, not just hear about Him? In this message, Pastor Léonce teaches Acts 19:1-10 and introduces us to twelve sincere men in Ephesus that had repented, been baptized, and believed everything they were taught, yet had never encountered the Holy Spirit. They had information about God without experience of Him. Then Paul rented a borrowed lecture hall and taught during siesta, and from that room ordinary people carried the gospel to an entire province. This message challenges us to ask whether we've truly encountered God, to show up to be trained, and to remember that the building is not the mission. The people who walk out of it are. Stop settling for hearing about Jesus. Let Him be the place you actually live. ___________________________  Thank you for listening to United Church's podcast! Subscribe for weekly sermons. You were made to be necessary, not a spectator. In this message from 1 Corinthians 14:26-40, Pastor Léonce unpacks one of the strangest church services in the Bible: a gathering where Paul assumes everyone in the room has something to bring. No stage, no audience — just people, each one necessary. We also walk honestly through two of the most debated verses in the New Testament (1 Cor. 14:34-35), what they do and don't mean, and why getting it right matters for every person in the room, brothers and sisters alike. Because here's the question this whole passage comes down to: not "who's allowed to speak," but "did anybody leave this room stronger because you were in it?" ___________________________  Thank you for listening to United Church's podcast!
