Reverse
Revenge is a dish best served... in Cameron Indoor Stadium! The latest episode of the Duke Basketball Roundup is a look ahead to the eagerly awaited rematch with UNC. Of course, the big question hanging over this game is whether Carolina's Caleb Wilson will suit up. He's been missing time with a fracture in his hand and it sounds like he is close to coming back. Jason and Donald dive into what Carolina is like with and without their star forward. They also look at how playing this game in Cameron could bring an extra boost to the Duke team. After the break, the podcast team gets into the significance of Senior Day and how it may impact the play of Maliq Brown. The guys also stroll down memory lane to one of the great "last game in Cameron" performances of all time... by none other than Justin Robinson.

Dame Sarr was incredible as Duke clinched the ACC regular season title outright. His offensive surge was a huge boost for the Blue Devils. We discuss his big night as well as the rest of what Duke did well to run away from the Wolfpack. There were a lot of great performances individually and collectively as NC State had no answer after about 9 minutes had elapsed in the game.
There were some things to clean up, so we discuss what they can do a bit better. And, how can a timeout possibly be considered for Play of the Game? Stick around and find out!

Fresh off a big win against Virginia, Duke has to turn it around very quickly to play NC State in Raleigh. We preview that game along with some other nuggets on DBR Bites #148.
Duke has had some stinkers in Raleigh against the Wolfpack, but they're hoping to buck that trend. NC State has a lot of familiar guys from other teams, but have been inconsistent this season in several areas. We take you though what they've done this year, how they look in the metrics, and what it will take to get a win at the Lenovo Center.
After the break, we have a couple of other stories to touch on. First, Nolan Smith has won a regular season conference title in his first season with Tennessee State! Could they be a potential Duke opponent if they make the NCAA Tournament? We also look at how many double digit leads Duke has held over the past couple of seasons, and we discuss the streets finally saying that Jon Scheyer might be a frontrunner for ACC and national coach of the year.

This just in, Duke is really, really good. Facing yet another big-time opponent, a team on the fringe of the top ten and a club touted as the second best in the ACC, the #1 ranked Blue Devils ran roughshod over Virginia this weekend in a game that was mostly non-competitive. Jon Scheyer and his troops have built one of the most fierce and suffocating defenses in modern college basketball history, taking a Virginia team that was routinely reaching 90 points in other games and dismantling them to the point where they struggled to get to 50. The Duke Basketball Roundup spends a lot of time talking about the quality of the D and which guys are really standing out on that end. It is also worth noting that Isaiah Evans and Darren Harris caught fire from outside in this contest, contributing mightily to the easy victory. Be sure to check out the whole episode, as you will love listening in as Cam and Slim compare themselves to Patrick Mahomes and Randy Moss.

We are back with DBR Bites #147 as the Duke Blue Devils prepare for a showdown against the Virginia Cavaliers in a battle for 1st in the ACC!
Virginia has been playing very well lately, but so has Duke. We take you through what Virginia has done to date and why they have been so successful on the year. They have a couple of players that stand out, but they have played great team ball to remain just one game behind Duke in the ACC standings.
We also get into the things to watch for this game and tell you why the team who controls the paint and the glass will have the advantage in this one.

Well, that was fun! The Blue Devils showed exactly zero mercy facing an injured and outmanned Notre Dame club on Tuesday night, throttling the Irish in a game that felt like it was over only minutes after it had begun. There are so many superlatives coming out of the win -- the biggest Notre Dame home loss since 1898 -- that it takes some time for the DBR Podcast to fully lay them all out. The podcast crew has special praise for the balance Duke showed on offense and defense. After the break, the guys dive into a few other topics, including the never-ending search for a good nickname for Dame Sarr.

There is no rest for the weary and no time to bask in the glow of that stirring weekend win over Michigan. Jon Scheyer and he guys are in the Midwest as they get ready for an ACC clash with Notre Dame. The Irish have been bit pretty hard by the injury bug but still have some players who can make life miserable for the opposition, especially if they get hot from 3-point land. In their latest episode, the Duke Basketball Roundup breaks down everything you need to know about Notre Dame. After the break, Jason and Donald also dive into the weekend early bracket reveal by the NCAA selection committee. What does it tell us about Duke's potential path to the Final Four and what the committee thinks of the ACC this season?

This was arguably the biggest non-conference regular season game Duke has played in years. Everyone said it felt like a Final Four atmosphere. And when the dust cleared at the end of a physical and emotional battle, Duke was the team with the victory and the vaunted Michigan Wolverines took the L. Both Donald Wine and Scott Rich of the DBR Podcast were in the building for the game. They join Jason Evans for a look at the big takeaways from this game... a contest that will surely result in Duke being ranked #1 in the polls and with the inside track for the overall #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

We have all had this one circled on our calendars for a while. On Saturday, Duke ventures to the nation's capital for one of the biggest non-conference games you will ever find in February. #1 Michigan versus #3 Duke (though with Houston losing this week, the winner of this game is sure to be #1 on Monday). And the Duke Basketball Roundup is uniquely situated to provide you with a great preview of this game because DBR regulars Donald Wine and Scott Rich know Michigan as well as they know any team not named Duke. Listen in to find out what it is that fuels Michigan's #1 ranked defense and why this Wolverine club is currently on a path that would make them one of the best few teams of the past 30 years! Can Duke short-circuit that journey on Saturday?

We go through it all and get some sage thoughts from the legend. You won’t want to miss it! And thank you all for being on this journey with us. 800 episodes down, several hundred more to come!!

That was a fun game! Duke destroys Syracuse on Monday night, and we recap the victory on Episode 799.
Duke was able to turn stellar defense into incredible offense, and Jason was in the building for it all. He and Donald take us through all the good things from last night’s victory, and we even got some sound from the locker room as we hear from Pat Ngongba, Isaiah Evans, and Dame Sarr.
It wasn’t a perfect game, but it was pretty close! Still, we talk about the things to improve from this game as we look forward to the big matchup in DC this weekend. And we close with our play of the game. We’re feeling pretty great today about our team, so let’s enjoy it before it’s time to lock back in…the milestone episode is coming soon!

The Syracuse Orange come to town on Monday night, and Duke has to do a quick turnaround to face them. We preview the upcoming game on DBR Bites #144.
The Orange have some good players to look out for, but they haven't been able to find the consistency as a team. We go through who they've played and what they do well, but also where Duke may have an advantage. As we get closer to March, every game matters that much more. Duke has a great chance to keep their lead in the ACC, but they need to continue to play inspired basketball against Syracuse.

One of the most interesting, and best coached, teams in the ACC comes to Cameron on Saturday in the Clemson Tigers. The Duke Basketball Roundup crew takes a look ahead at the battle between the ACC's #1 team and the club that is right on their heels. Head coach Brad Brownell has put together a fascinating club this year. There are no stars on Clemson, not a single guy even averages 30 minutes of playing time per game. But, they play hard and play together -- a classic example of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. Have a listen as Jason and Donald dissect everything you need to know about the only ACC team to beat Duke last season.

The Duke Basketball Roundup once again welcomes former ESPN Magazine and The Athletic writer/editor Jordan Brenner to the show. The host of The Underdogs podcast is a passionate Duke fan (and longtime friend of Jon Scheyer) who also knows how to look at the team through an analytical lens. His insight is always on point. As he has several times over the course of the season, Jordan joins us with keen observations about what has happened and what he thinks will happen as Duke marches forward this season.

Let's just be honest, Pitt gave Duke more trouble than expected in their matchup on Tuesday night. The Duke Basketball Roundup dives into what was a sluggish, but ultimately successful outing for a Duke team missing Big Pat, its main man in the middle. Jason and Donald start out talking about the guards who led the way, Slim and CFos. They also have kind words for Darren Harris, who has seemed like the forgotten man in recent weeks. Is this the start of a revived role for him? With huge games coming up as the season enters the home stretch, there has never been a better time to subscribe to the DBR Podcast to make sure you get every episode the moment it drops.

Duke has to put this past weekend’s heartbreaking loss behind them, as they travel to take on Pitt and fellow Brotherhood member Jeff Capel on Tuesday night. We preview the game against the Panthers on DBR Bites #142.
We do go back to the court storming briefly to get an update on the staffer that was injured, with audio from head coach Jon Scheyer from the weekly ACC press conference. We then proceed with previewing the Pitt game, and Pitt has not been great this season. The metrics show where their flaws are, and we hear from Jeff Capel on the rebounding matchup between his team and Duke. We then get to some of the players that Pitt has, though a couple of the guys they rely on the most are out due to injury. Finally, we end with the things to watch as we hope to get Duke back in the win column tomorrow night.

Ugh... for 39 minutes, 59 seconds, and 6-tenths of a second, Duke was controlling Carolina... and then Seth Trimble had his moment. The Duke Basketball Roundup has a full breakdown of the dispiriting loss to the Tar Heels. But, you won't catch Jason and Donald wallowing in anger or frustration at the refs, the court storming, or other excuses. Instead, the DBR Pod crew is focused on how Duke gets better from this moment on. What lessons were learned in this contest and how does Duke avoid the kind of late-game meltdowns that have led to each of the team's losses this year? There were plenty of positive takeaways from the contest and many reasons to still think this Duke team can do some pretty special stuff that will cause this loss to quickly fade from our memory.

We’re doubling our preview of the Duke-UNC game! On Episode 794, we welcome back Jay Bilas to break down the matchup between the Blue Devils and the Tar Heels.
We start on the UNC side, and Jay tells us what’s made their bigs so successful and where UNC will have to perform well if they want to knock off Duke. Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar have been performing well, but who else can be a X-factor? Jay gives us his unique perspective.
We then shift to Duke, and Jay provides us with his thoughts on what Duke needs to do in order to walk out of the Dean Dome with the win and the bragging rights. The defense needs to be there and he’s not as concerned with the shooting. He also discusses whether Jon Scheyer will ever get the coaching recognition he deserves in the form of end of year awards. When Jay Bilas is on the pod, we listen because we know his thoughts are going to be good!!

Nickname for what Dame does to opponent offense - D Masculates them
Heel fan. I will admit that I started to get a lump in my throat during the post game. Even though I don't like Duke but the rivalry and college basketball will never be the same.
