Today's mini-episode from Robert is a short, deep dive into the good work of evangelism. He debunks a typical, common way that existing churches and church plants tend to think about church planting, and suggests other ways to become the answer to the world through following the way of Jesus (missional purpose) and proclaiming the good news where and how people will hear it.  Find more from the Church Planter Podcast on instagram @churchplanterpodcast, on Facebook at Church Planter Podcast, twitter @cPlanterPodcast, and YouTube at Church Planter Podcast. Church planting Church plant Church startup New church Planting a church Christian community Faith community Church growth Church development Christian ministry Church outreach Spiritual community Church planting network Church planting resources Church planting strategies Church planting organization Church planting conference Church planting movement Church planting missions Church planting training Church planting assessment Church planting consultant Church planting support Church planting coach Church planting blog
Money is a touchy subject in churches, and with good reason. Too often we try to guilt people into giving, when we should be motivating them. In this episode, Pete and Peyton help explain how viewing giving as worship and mission is the biggest paradigm shift that we need to help people make, and they give some practical steps for how your church plant can begin to model that.Resources and Links Mentioned in this Episode:Reliant Mission: reliant.org/cppNewBreed TrainingMissionbyBusiness.comThanks for listening to the church planter podcast. Do you ever wonder if there's a better strategy (or any other strategy than the one you're using!) to reach lost people in your life in a way that feels authentic, kind, and not-cringy? For today's episode of CPP, Mat and Robert dig into this topic. They address cultural barriers to evangelism within the church, and shared personal experiences with engaging in spiritual dialogue with others, emphasizing non-confrontational, inclusive approaches. They also discuss strategies for evangelism specifically for church plants, focusing on creating a welcoming environment for sharing spiritual journeys, transitioning from casual to meaningful conversations, and building long term relationships. If that's not enough, there will be more! This is most likely part one of a longer series, so come back next week for more thoughts on evangelism.  Find more from the Church Planter Podcast on instagram @churchplanterpodcast, on Facebook at Church Planter Podcast, twitter @cPlanterPodcast, and YouTube at Church Planter Podcast. Church planting Church plant Church startup New church Planting a church Christian community Faith community Church growth Church development Christian ministry Church outreach Spiritual community Church planting network Church planting resources Church planting strategies Church planting organization Church planting conference Church planting movement Church planting missions Church planting training Church planting assessment Church planting consultant Church planting support Church planting coach Church planting blogMentioned in this episode:This episode was brought to you by ChurchWebBuilder. Praying may seem like Christianity 101, but our approach often needs to change to accommodate our lifestyle and personal growth. Instead of continuously being in relationship with God, we end up in self-reliance throughout most of our days. Peyton and Pete talk about how to reorient your life around prayer in this episode.Resources and Links Mentioned in this Episode:Reliant Mission: reliant.org/cppNewBreed TrainingMissionbyBusiness.comThanks for listening to the church planter podcast. Everyone has an opinion in a church plant and there's nothing wrong with simply voicing it. However, some people will try to manipulate you into doing what they want, and you can't allow that sort of behavior to take hold and become the norm in a new church. In this episode, Peyton and Pete talk about the ways people may try to manipulate you and how to handle those kinds of interactions.Resources and Links Mentioned in this Episode:Reliant Mission: reliant.org/cppNewBreed TrainingMissionbyBusiness.comThanks for listening to the church planter podcast. Churches have been focusing on two categories of people for decades: Christians and non-Christians. But what if that's too simplistic? Daniel Im believes we need to add one dimension to this mindset if we want to understand and reach the people in our communities.Resources and Links Mentioned in this Episode:Pre-order the Discipleship OpportunityReliant Mission: reliant.org/cppNewBreed TrainingMissionbyBusiness.comThanks for listening to the church planter podcast. As you're getting ready to plant your church (or in these early stages of church planting), what do you consider success? Sticking with ministry until the end? Establishing yourself as a reliable voice in your community? Having an impact on your neighborhood? Changing the culture? Today, Robert and Mat dive into these questions, exploring the concept of ministry for the long haul" in church planting, the challenges and benefits of church growth, and the reasons for planting churches in new areas. They talk through the attractional model versus a mission-focused model in church leadership, the importance of long-term community engagement, and the pros and cons of the 'launch large model' for church plant networks. Listen in! When Jesus trained the Twelve, he was prepping them for the Great Commission. Believers have always been meant to go on mission, but mission tends to get left by the wayside after a church plant gets going. How can you prevent that? Peyton Jones has some thoughts in this episode.Resources and Links Mentioned in this Episode:Reliant Mission: reliant.org/cppNewBreed TrainingMissionbyBusiness.comThanks for listening to the church planter podcast. For today's episode of the Church Planter Podcast, Robert is live with Chris Backert, pastor, author, the senior director of Fresh Expressions NA, and leader in the Ascent movement. The two talk all things mission and evangelical witness. They discuss the decline of traditional denominationalism in the church and the emergence of new forms of church expressions, including microchurches and networks, and explore the challenges and opportunities faced by church planters, the concept of a "blended ecology of church," and the cyclical nature of church growth and decline. They end with a discussion on the importance of engaging with children and youth, the need for better theological education, and the potential of planting churches in less "desirable" areas. More on Chris Backert: Working with church leaders to develop new expressions of Christian community is the passion of Chris’s life. In addition to his role as Senior Director of Fresh Expressions NA, he serves with the Baptist General Association of Virginia in the area of growth and venture development. He also serves as National Director for both Ecclesia, a US network of missional churches, as well as Missio Alliance. Previously, he served as pastor of New Life Christian Fellowship, a large university congregation in Blacksburg, Virginia and has been involved in the planting of three new congregations. Chris holds a D.Min. in Missional Church Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. He lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with wife Rachel, daughter Elliana and son Jase. Find more from the Church Planter Podcast on instagram @churchplanterpodcast, on Facebook at Church Planter Podcast, twitter @cPlanterPodcast, and YouTube at Church Planter Podcas
