As someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas, I agree with your final conclusion. I would never expect a brother to take doen their tree so we would not stumble. We fellowship regularly with brothers and sisters with different doctrine. I keep coming back to one question though. James defines sin as "the transgression of the law (or Torah)" While there are no specific laws against Christmas (although the Torah is full of laws concerning not worshipping Him the way pagans do), there are laws that are considered done away with such as dietary laws and the 7th day Sabbath. But if sin is transgression of the law, wouldn't not observing these be considered sin? When Paul asked "what then, shall we keep sinning so that grace may abound?" he replied, "Heaven forbid!" Yes absolutely there is grace but there are also standards He expects us to live up to! Not to BE saved but because we are saved! Our children don't have to worry about not belonging to us anymore everytime they break a
