Today's Roundtable is with the co-founders of Everest Microbial Defense, an eco-friendly company with high quality disinfectants, protectants and sanitizers beyond anything on the market. Mitchell will be speaking with co-founders Mark Whaley and Jay Johnson who are leading the way to the Next Generation of these kinds of cleaning products based on a particular molecular structure that binds to a surface, be they be hands, clothes or a countertop, and by so doing creates a seal with invisible spikes that mechanically impale the microbes. Both Mark and Jay are consummate professionals in the field, having worked in the cleaning space for decades. It's a remarkable technology so we obviously wanted to feature what they're doing on A Better World. Mitchell will be hosting the Roundtable discussion.

There is of course war in the form of military conflict but there are much subtler ones being waged these days such as economic and cyber-wars. For cyber-wars, we gently call it “hacking” but it is war.  And needs to be dealt with as such.  Best of course is to educate people and inculcate the values of peace starting at early ages, but in the meantime, protecting a nation’s businesses and institutions from hacking at this point in time, is just essential. Today’s topic will focus on the serious increase of cyber-attacks and what can and is being done about it. To discuss this today with Mitchell is CEO of Emergynt, one of the leading cybersecurity firms in the U.S. and arguably, the world, is Ori Lapidot.  Mr. Lapidot is a Strategy, Business Development and Marketing Executive with more than twenty-five years of domestic and international experience generating over $1 Billion in revenues on multiple occasions.  Mitchell was part of the original founding of Emergynt and is intimate with its history, vision its ability to have valuable impact on & protection of our society. A Better World continues its ongoing series on the Environment & the subjects of Global Warming & what has amounted to Climate Catastrophe. Mitchell's guest today, internationally-renowned journalist and author of many books, most recently, The End of Ice, Dahr Jamail, terms it "Climate Disruption".  Today we'll take another look at the global, eco-systemic situation from the point of view of melting glaciers and ice.  Dahr's far-reaching, well-researched work reveals a picture of the planet that we are all better off knowing about than not. In late 2003, weary of the overall failure of the US media to accurately report on the realities of the war in Iraq for the Iraqi people, Dahr Jamail went to the Middle East to report on the war himself, where he has spent more than one year in Iraq as one of only a few independent US journalists in the country. Dahr has also reported from Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. He has also reported extensively on veterans’ resistance against US foreign policy, and is now focussing on anthropogenic climate and the environment. Dahr’s stories have been published with Truthout, Inter Press Service, Tom Dispatch, The Sunday Herald in Scotland, The Guardian, Foreign Policy in Focus, Le Monde, Le Monde Diplomatique, The Huffington Post, The Nation, The Independent, and Al Jazeera, among others. Dahr is currently and has been a feature writer for Truthout.org for five years, and his climate feature page there is titled ‘Climate Disruption Dispatches‘. Join Mitchell and Dahr today in this exploration of 'what's happening on the ground and in the mountains' of our beautiful planet that is heating up more rapidly than anyone might have predicted.  May it help to clear up what choices we can make to be part of the solution.
One of the most exciting proposals to emerge from Washington in a long time is the Green New Deal, a kind of legislation that would have been best implemented some 40 years ago when climate scientists at Exxon knew of the dangers of fossil fuels (that actually goes back to the 1950’s), and others such as NASA’s climate scientist, James Hansen, knew the danger we were facing.  He was made famous for his testimony before Congress on his findings in 1988.  The Congress, on the other hand, was made infamous for their inaction.  One of AOC’s chief advisers on the GND is today’s guest, Robert Hockett.  Robert the Cornell Law Faculty in 2004. His principal teaching, research, and writing interests lie in the fields of organizational, financial, and monetary law and economics in both their positive and normative, as well as their national and transnational, dimensions. His guiding concern in these fields is with the legal and institutional prerequisites to a just, prosperous, and sustainable economic order.  Robert has been in a flurry of national media interviews over the past several weeks but by and large, reduced to sound bites and pressed to speak of the least important aspects of it or of AOC instead of the heart and intent of the proposed legislation.  In today’s interview on A Better World Radio with Mitchell Rabin, a much more thorough examination of the Green New Deal, uninterrupted by drug and car advertisements, will be engaged.  We will look at the GND in some depth and come to understand of what it is composed and if wisely implemented, what it could mean for the future of our nation and planet.
Mitchell's guest today is environmentalist, entrepreneur, author and activist Paul Hawken, who has dedicated his life to environmental sustainability and changing the relationship between business and the environment. He is one of the environmental movement’s leading voices, and a pioneering architect of corporate reform with respect to ecological practices. His work includes founding successful, ecologically conscious businesses, writing about the impacts of commerce on living systems, and consulting with heads of state and CEOs on economic development, industrial ecology, and environmental policy. Paul is Executive Director of Project Drawdown, a non-profit dedicated to researching when and how global warming can be reversed. The organization maps and models the scaling of one hundred substantive technological, social, and ecological solutions to global warming.  Paul has appeared in numerous media including the Today Show, Larry King, Talk of the Nation, Charlie Rose, and has been profiled or featured in hundreds of articles including the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Washington Post, Business Week, Esquire, and US News and World Report. His writings have appeared in the Harvard Business Review, Resurgence, New Statesman, Inc, Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor, Mother Jones, Utne Reader, Orion, and many other publications.
Mitchell’s guest this evening is internationally-known and loved, cellular biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton.  Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences. Purchase Bruce’s books & CD’s Here. Purchase Mitchell’s Interviews with Bruce on DVD Here. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering. In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics.
Mitchell’s guest today is Fritjof Capra, Ph.D.,  Dr. Capra is a scientist, educator, activist, and author of many international bestsellers that connect conceptual changes in science with broader changes in worldview and values in society. A Vienna-born physicist and systems theorist, Capra first became popularly known for his book, The Tao of Physics, which explored the ways in which modern physics was changing our worldview from a mechanistic to a holistic and ecological one. Published in 1975, it is still in print in more than 40 editions worldwide and is referenced with the statue of Shiva in the courtyard of one of the world’s largest and most respected centers for scientific research: CERN, the Center for Research in Particle Physics in Geneva. Purchase Dr. Capra’s books here. His most recent book, The Systems View of Life (Cambridge University Press, 2014), presents a grand new synthesis of this work—integrating the biological, cognitive, social, and ecological dimensions of life into one unified vision. Capra is a founding director of the Berkeley-based Center for Ecoliteracy,
