Description

A podcast about positivity for the large number of people diagnosed with brain tumours every year. It sounds a grim subject but not every tumour diagnosis ends in tragedy (sadly still too many do) and I wanted to offer some positivity to anyone’s newly diagnosed and maybe inspire them to stay positive. I want to share my story and how I found ways to fight my way through this huge challenge with humour and optimism. I try to be explain the hospital & surgery experienceI. Sharing information on resources available to 'Brain Tumour Warriors', support groups and charities that can help you.

Based on my blog I share my story of surviving (so far at least) having two different types of brain tumours. I use humour and positivity to keep going and I hope this might help or inspire others through their life after a brain tumour diagnosis.
My first meeting with my Neurosurgeons suddenly made this whole experience feel very real!  Hospitals are familiar ground for me thanks to my 36 years married to a Radiographer so I wasn't worried about my time that was planned to be spent on a ward. In the first episode, I talk about the power of words to change your life and how the direction of our lives changed completely with the words "I'm sorry Mr Hannah but you have two brain tumours". In this series I will talk about the coping mechanisms that have got me through some dark moments and the fact that you can still find humour in even the most difficult circumstances. I hope this podcast will help those diagnosed after me to understand what is to come and take some of the mystery and fear out of the process.
