Chapter 32: There's Plenty of Suffering to Go Around

This week the Clan of Two reviews the newest reinforcements for the Separatist Alliance, the Terror From Below Squad Pack! Based upon the Mon Cala arc from the fourth season of The Clone Wars, this box contains the manipulative and savage Riff Tamson, the traitorous Nossor Ri, and the intimidating Aqua Droids. This set is sure to add more options for Separatist Alliance teams, whether as individual units or the whole squad!Starting off with the set's Primary Unit, Riff Tamson, Grif and Hunter discuss his abilities and stances, highlighting his aggressive and mobile playstyle that will pair well with other Separatist Primary Units like Asajj Ventress or General Grevious. Riff brings 8 Squad Points to build his squad with, but only 2 Force for your overall pool. Not that he needs to worry about low Force, as with his Identity and stats, he's sure to be refreshing plenty of Force for your team!Next up is Nossor Ri, the first 3 Point Cost Secondary Unit available to the Separatists! His Unit and Stance cards are packed full of useful supportive abilities for your strike team, providing extra dice for attacks and Order Deck manipulation, as well as plenty of Recovers and Shoves to help control the battlefield and keep your own Units topped up.Last but certainly not least are the dreaded Aqua Droids. A 5PC Support Unit, these (massive) droids pack quite the punch (literally), with plenty of abilities to get them into any brawl and the health and defenses to keep them there, as well as a unique ability that allows them to reduce the Cover of a unit they target with a ranged attack!Talking over lists, Hunter starts with a list that pairs well with Count Dooku, with plenty of tricks (both offensive and defensive) to make for an excellent scoring team. Meanwhile, Grif leans all in on the violence Riff provides, pairing him with Asajj Ventress to maximize the aggressive power these two Primary Units and their squads bring to the table! Is Riff Tamson and his associates enough to signal a return of Separatists? We sure hope so! Be sure to pick up a box of them when they officially release on August 15th._________________________________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast? Chapter 31: Delta Squad On Our Way

It's nostalgia time for the Clan of Two as they review the recently revealed Delta Squad, Form Up! Squad Pack! Debuting in the 2005 Republic Commando video game, Delta Squad has been largely absent from media (aside from a small cameo in The Clone Wars and a brief role for RC-1262 in The Bad Batch) until now! Now this team of elite commandos get to bring their confusing and frightening tactics to Shatterpoint! Grif and Hunter start with the boss himself, RC-1138 "Boss". An aggressive Primary Unit, Boss has a lot of tools at his disposal to engage the enemy and wound your opponents, with Stances that give you options between a melee-focused side that offers up to 9 damage (before factoring in conditions and expertise) and a range-focused side that provides a lot of utility and support options.Next up is Delta's second-in-command, RC-1140 "Fixer". A 4PC Secondary Unit, Fixer provides a suite of supportive abilities, including the Republic's first Tie-Breaker ability, as well as a Stance Card that is very reminiscent of Captain Rex's.The last unit in the box is "Sev" & "Scorch", a 5PC Support Unit that is ready to chew gum and blow things up. Sev and Scorch are a solid addition to the Republic's Support choices, and have a large array of abilities to ensure they take objectives and then hold onto them.Overall, Delta Squad has the looks of a fantastic and powerful squad that will be a blast to play!_________________________________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast? The team rounds out their series covering the updated Primary Units from the Core Set with Asajj Ventress herself, who may actually be eligible for the title of Assassin now!The team dives right into talking about this characters updated Unit card, highlighting the two (but very impactful) abilites that received changes. Hunter and Grif cover the numerous changes to Asajj's stances, highlighting her improved lethality against her intended targets. The episode ends with some fun lists designed to maximize Ventress's abilities and role, including some sneak peaks at Grif's thoughts on units from the Terrors From Below Squad Pack!Overall, Asajj is looking to be a very mobile assassin that now has the punch to actually kill things!_________________________________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast? The team is back in the studio to bring you the next Updated Primary from the Shatterpoint Core Set: Ahsoka Tano, Jedi No More! This episode follows the same format as the General Skywalker episode: Hunter and Grif break down the changes to Ahsoka's Unit and Stance cards, followed by their thoughts on her preferred role in a strike team. Next, they talk about key units to pair with the updated Primary to create powerful combos, and then transition to strike team building with a defensive Galactic Republic team that makes the most of Ahsoka's defensive abilities. Finally, Hunter and Grif discuss ways to avoid Ahsoka if she makes an appearance on the table opposite you, and things to watch out for while playing against her._________________________________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast? In this episode, the Clan of Two team brings you the hero of the May Balance Update (and the Clone Wars): General Anakin Skywalker! The first in a series of episodes focusing on the newly updated Primary Units in the Core Set, Grif and Hunter go over the changes Anakin received in the latest update, covering all of his ability and stance changes. With those in mind, Hunter talks about Anakin's preferred role in a strike team (spoiler: He wants to hit things. Really hard). They then break down suitable Primary, Secondary, and Support unit combos for the general, including an ideal list that maximizes Anakin's ability to be a monster on the battlefield. The team then finishes the episode with their opinions on how to best counter Anakin in this new age of Republic popularity._________________________________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast? Chapter 26: Rogue One, Pulling Away

The last of the squad packs based on the (fantastic) Rogue One movie, this box covers the rest of the Rogue One crew, with units that are eager to get into the fight alongside their friends Cassian Andor and K-2SO. This squad pack includes Jyn Erso, Stardust as it's Primary Unit, the Imperial defector Bodhi Rook as it's Secondary Unit, and finally Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe as it's dual-model Support Unit. Hunter and Grif dive into each of their Unit and Stance cards, covering all the flavorful abilities the squad has, and then provide their thoughts on how the team will play with the current line-up of Rebel Alliance units. Chapter 25: First Contact!

In this episode, the team finally tackles the latest mission pack, First Contact! Hunter gives his initial impressions from playing during the pre-release event at Adepticon, and then he and Grif go over their experiences with the mission during their recent games, before diving into the specific Struggles and rules of the mission set. They cover ideal deployments, thoughts about when to change the struggle and when not to, and other tips to improve your play on this new and exciting mission!Additionally, the team talks about requests for a Clan of Two podcast Discord server. If that is something that interests you, let us know (and what you would want out of the server) through one of the contact methods below or through a comment on the episode!Editor's Note: Grif here! Hunter mentions during the episode that Republic lists are unable to contest all possible active objectives in the first struggle from deployment using Commander Pond's updated Innate ability. After some testing on my side, it is possible to contest all 3 objectives, but it will heavily depend on the terrain that is used for the board. So don't feel down on Ponds if you were looking forward to using him!_____________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast? Chapter 23: Balance Update First Impressions

The day has finally arrived! The long awaited balance update for Shatterpoint has released, and A Clan of Two is excited to talk about their first impressions of the changes! The (rather long) episode provides a quick look at the changes to each of the 31 Units that were updated in this document, as well as Hunter and Grif's thoughts on how the unit might perform now.The team goes over the update document as it appears (with the exception of Commander Ponds, who is with the rest of the Galactic Republic units, and the Ewoks, which are all grouped at the end), so if you want to skip around and hear their thoughts on your favorite units, they should be easy to find!Cast Note: We mention that Jango can still end activations with his updated Not So Fast ability. This is incorrect in the context that we provided, as the ability resolves before the unit actually activates, so even if a wound was scored, they would still get to activate, albeit now Injured.Additionally, there were some drops on Grif's end during the episode, so apologies in advance for the weird audio. It was decided that since Hunter still was providing commentary it was easier to just leave in rather than try to edit around! If you want to take at look at the updated units yourself as you listen along, the Print And Play document can be found at the following link, under Unit Updates 2025: https://www.atomicmassgames.com/swp-rules/_____________________________________________________________Got questions about the show or for the cast?
