This audio is about efforts to oversimplify A Course in Miracles, cut it down to size, and lower its level of difficulty and intellectual content. The Course's theoretical bases involve intellectual exercises because they are set in an earthly frame - the world of illusion and madness. That is how Jesus reaches through a seemingly impossible brick wall of "proof" that the world is real. I wish for you safe travels on your journey to the home you never left. ☮️💟
This is another spontaneous audio - unpolished and with room for lots more on the subject.Ken Wapnick was right about the Course!More importantly, we want and need him to be right!Ken taught what Jesus taught in his Course. It's a unique path in form but not content. There is no other path in the world like the Course. To take away the uncompromising nature of it, is to take away its meaning and beauty. There is heaven or hell; everything or nothing; Truth or illusion; God or the ego - and of these, you choose but one. Don't try to shove Heaven (Level One) into hell (level two) - not because it's sinful or evil - but only because it won't make you happy. The effort will preserve the nightmare of what we made of ourselves; it will preserve pain, fear, and guilt as well as grievances and judgment. It will mean that something real can be threatened. Other paths lead to God, we just don't have to call them A Course in Miracles. That is my only effort. I wouldn't call another path "the Course path" the same way I wouldn't call an apple an egg. Thank you for listening.Peace.
The Lingering IllusionChapters cited: The Guiltless World; The War Against Yourself; The Final VisionI love how Jesus calls the belief that something outside of us can bring peace and happiness to us "the lingering illusion." It trivializes it in the best way! The ego wants us to take everything so seriously and view it as insurmountable - but it's merely a lingering illusion! He also makes the point in WB lesson 185: "..be you not dismayed by lingering illusions, for their form is not what matters now. Let not some dreams be more acceptable, reserving shame and secrecy for others. They are one." Heavy sigh! Seeing differences here is exhausting!Unless the Holy Spirit gives the dream its function, "it was made for hate, and will continue in death's service." "And those who serve the lord of death have come to worship in a separated world, each with his tiny spear and rusted sword, to keep his ancient promises to die." All we need to do is decide we do not know the purpose of the world! So simple!"How lovely is the world whose purpose is forgiveness of God's Son! How free from fear, how filled with blessing and with happiness!"
Lesson 193All things are lessons God would have me learn.Every moment is another opportunity to forgive. Our deepest need determines how quickly we take Jesus' hand and look with him. Our deepest need determines where we see ourselves and where we see Jesus. When we drag Jesus into the dream to help us, we are invested in illusions. We are making real what has no life and no reality. When we try to bring truth to illusions, we are trying to make illusions real and keep them by justifying our belief in them. Our only function is forgiveness and we will forgive and this will disappear.
A partial reading of The Gifts of God; The Dream of Fear with commentary.
We came here to hate a little while. That is what we need to look at with Jesus. There's nothing to look at outside of ourselves. As long as we believe there is something to see outside of us, we will remain here practicing forgiveness with effects and not cause. There is no world! If we believe we have something, anything, including an experience of the memory of God, that others don't have or some have - then we are insane. We are fast asleep. If we believe there is someone to help - then we are insane. Nothing we think we see is really there. Withdrawing our projections is the only way to look with Jesus.
