After fear, the next demons that named themselves and came out were pride, jealousy and self-pity. So self-pity can be a demon! I said to myself. - Derek Prince Prince, Derek. They Shall Expel Demons: What You Need to Know about Demons--Your Invisible Enemies (p. 47). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
It would be natural to assume that, after my wonderful deliverance from depression, I began immediately to share these exciting truths with my congregation. Unfortunately, this was not so. There were two main reasons. The first, quite simply, was pride. Prince, Derek. They Shall Expel Demons: What You Need to Know about Demons--Your Invisible Enemies (p. 38). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
The New Testament writers give a clear picture of the nature and activity of demons, but the key to understanding these areas is an accurate explanation of the terminology they used. Prince, Derek. They Shall Expel Demons: What You Need to Know about Demons--Your Invisible Enemies (p. 14). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
I was reading the opening verses of Isaiah 61, which describe the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit in bearing testimony to the message of the Gospel—verses Jesus applied to Himself in the synagogue in Nazareth (see Luke 4:16–21). As I came to the words in verse 3, “the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (KJV, emphasis added)—also called “a spirit of despair” (NIV) and “a spirit of fainting” (NASB)—I could read no further. It was as though the phrase the spirit of heaviness was underlined by some invisible hand. Prince, Derek. They Shall Expel Demons: What You Need to Know about Demons--Your Invisible Enemies (p. 32). ...God in His sovereignty began to give me direct personal experience in recognizing and dealing with demons. --Derek Prince Prince, Derek. They Shall Expel Demons: What You Need to Know about Demons--Your Invisible Enemies (p. 27). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
This chapter written by Derek Prince demonstrates expelling demons began with Jesus ministry, continued with his Apostles and continues to this very day until "it is finished."
This short chapter completes the book Power Through Constructive Thinking by Emmet Fox.  This chapter urges negotiaters to work with the other person you are talking business with as having God on his side of the table as you have God on your side of the table.  Business is a righteous transaction.
God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in Him - 1 John 4:16
I enjoy the short chapters.  I get the feeling that books are written and filled with filler.  How much of what is written is important, is vital or even useful.  That which is those things is the book.  This one suggests an attitude about blessings and cursings.  It is an important part of the principles of life, in my opinion.  Let's see what experience teaches me.
Praying with the Word of power.  What is it about?  Read two pages and you may see and understand.
This is a short, spiritual piece of writing.  It is very positive and hopeful.   Believe and make it yours by putting it into your consciousness through reading and memory which changes to a working part of your mind automatically.  The awareness of these truths become a part of your consciousness and it changes who you are and goodness becomes what  you reap in life.
Well, yes.  This chapter is short.  They seem to be the most effective of chapters.  At any rate, scientific prayer is putting good things into your mind.  Make this a part of your consciousness and you will see how your thinking will change but more importantly you will see the results of prayer in your life.  Your life will become richer and lovely.  Listen to beautiful music.  This helps me a lot.
This short Chapter talks briefly but usefully about how you are responsible for the events in your life and how you can begin to clean up your consciousness (your thinking).  It is your thinking which is a key to a better life.  If you think true, positive thoughts you will get a return.  Your life will improve.  If you think negative thoughts which in my head occur automatically, then you will get negative returns.  You know the drill: fear, resentment, misery, self absorption (that sort of category).  The return on this kind of mentality is not only negative feelings but negative results.  The loan won't go through.  You may lose your job.  We are our own worst enemies.  This short chapter explains how you can change your life for the better..
More about Fox's ideas on re-birth.
An understanding of reincarnation solves most of life's riddles and serves as a sign post for the answers you need.  --Emmet Fox
Living your life.  Again and again.  Living in the present circumstances of learning experiences.
I would like listeners to know, that while Emmet Fox may be on the right track here, he also may not be describing the transition process from "Life After Death."  Never the less I was entertained by some of this thoughts on the nature of living in different layers of life experiences after death.  I can not say his view is purely speculative because I did not see a lot of footnotes in the reading which would support his ideas with facts.  That being said, I do not dispute his observations knowing that I can not have an intelligent discussion, since my discussions would be speculative.  I leave i to you, the listener to create your own notions with an open mind concerning the nature of life after death.
This segment talks in detail about the type of life that might be lived after "death" on this earth.
Emmet Fox discusses some thoughts about the nature of life after death.  The ideas are unique.  Living after dying has intrigued many people because it is so mysterious.  There are some ideas about this cycle of life which are interesting.  If you are a traditional Christian you may have ideas  which are fixed in your mind about the subject.  This traditional view is at odds with many of those of Emmet Fox though there are hints in his writing which indicate some common ideas between his view and the views of traditional Christianity. A side note: There are some expressions in Mr. Foxes writing which are poorly written and cause me confusion when reading.  I make mistakes when I read though I think I have improved greatly in that area.  To remove the confusion from some of Mr. Foxes "statements" would require me to rewrite the sentence.  This I am unwilling to do.
The subject of death is one I don't want to think much about.  My fear based consciousness kicks in and that is the result.  But God is good; he is love.  The presence of fear belongs someplace else.  Changing consciousness to true and positive thoughts is the state of mind I desire.  I do not accept fear.  I reject it.  God has not given us a spirit of fear.  His ideas about death are new to me.  They are different than the traditional Christian idea of the nature of death.  At any rate, my objective is to read his thoughts with an open mind.  A closed mind allows no thoughts in other than those that agree with what I already "know."  An open mind is necessary for change.  Keeping my mind open to good thoughts renews my mind and makes my life better.
