Description
Habits, Hyperfixations & Life with ADHD | Formerly Corporate to Calm. Now fully ADHD.
Welcome to ADHD IS… the podcast where we talk real life with ADHD.
Every week (maybe, probably, I don't know) I’m shooting the breeze about what it’s actually like to live, work and create with an ADHD brain.
We explore
- Symptoms, quirks & hyper fixations
- Habits that actually stick (for a while anyway)
- Business, productivity & burnout
- Sobriety, energy, and life hacks
- Navigating overwhelm while building your life
This is for neurodivergents, creatives, entrepreneurs and anyone whose brain works a little differently, ready to embrace it, not fight it.
New episodes drop weekly, relatable, honest and actionable.

Why do ADHD friendships feel so intense and so fragile?
In this episode of The ADHD Is…Podcast, I’m talking about something many neurodivergent women experience but rarely say out loud
👉 Making friends is easy.
👉 Keeping them?
That’s where it gets complicated.
We dive into
🌻ADHD and masking in friendships
🌻Why unmasking can cost you relationships
🌻Rejection Sensitivity (RSD) and childhood exclusion
🌻Feeling like the “third wheel”
🌻Being labelled “too much,” “too loud,” “too honest”
🌻Why people leave during your hardest seasons
🌻Loneliness in your 20s (and beyond)
🌻Boundaries, authenticity & outgrowing friendships
🌻Why ADHD women often mirror back others’ insecurities
If you’ve ever
• Felt left out
• Been excluded from a group
• Lost friends when you stopped people-pleasing
• Struggled with blunt honesty
• Been hurt more by friendships than relationships
This episode will hit home. Friendship with ADHD doesn’t get talked about enough, especially for women navigating masking, emotional intensity, loyalty and authenticity.
You are not “too much.” You are not broken. You are wired differently. 💛
And the right people stay.

ADHD Mornings - Why Structure Changes Everything
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm podcast but it’s more relevant than ever.
Because if you have ADHD, mornings can feel like
🌻Snooze-button shame
🌻Instant overwhelm
🌻Scrolling before thinking
🌻Starting behind before the day even begins
For years, I thought I just “wasn’t a morning person.”
The truth?
I didn’t have a system that worked for my ADHD brain.
In this episode, we talk about
✨ Why mornings are powerful for ADHD entrepreneurs
✨ How small habits create calm (not pressure)
✨ Using accountability to get moving
✨ Connecting to your “why” before the world gets loud
✨ How hormones impact focus, energy & creativity
✨ Working with your cycle & energy not against it
Because structure in the morning isn’t about discipline.
It’s about protecting your energy.
When your morning is intentional
- You reduce decision fatigue.
- You regulate your nervous system.
- You create clarity before chaos.
And that changes your entire day.
The 5 Habit Challenge - Click Below
https://thehabitboss.com/the-tiny-habits-challenge
I introduce the 5 Habit Challenge simple, repeatable habits designed to create calm, focused mornings without perfection or pressure.
Slow. Sustainable. ADHD-friendly.
If your mornings feel chaotic, this is your reset.

Welcome to ADHD IS…
The podcast where we explore what ADHD really looks like in real life, not the filtered version.
In this episode, I talk about
• ADHD and entrepreneurship
• Why habits and systems are survival tools (not restrictions)
• Falling off routines — and starting again
• Supporting women in business
• Hyperfixation (TV shows, music, dopamine loops)
• Using music to regulate your nervous system
• Raising a child with ADHD
• Building a business that aligns with your values
As an ADHD mentor for entrepreneurs, I help neurodivergent business owners create systems that support creativity instead of stifling it. Because the truth is, structure can create freedom when it works with your brain.
We also get honest about comparison, jealousy, copying in business and why no one can ever replicate you even in the age of AI.
This is a stream-of-consciousness, real-talk episode about managing an ADHD brain while building a life and business that feels good.
ADHD is different for everyone.
ADHD is… whatever you experience it as.

In this first episode of the ADHD IS… podcast
(yes formerly the Corporate to Calm podcast) All C to C episodes are available across your preferred platforms.
In this ADHD Podcast I’m sharing my real, unfiltered experience of living with ADHD as a late-diagnosed woman, ADHD mentor, business owner and parent.
We talk about
🌻What ADHD actually is (and what it isn’t)
🌻Limerence which intense infatuation, obsession & dopamine
🌻Hyperfixation, Heated Rivalry is not going anywhere
🌻ADHD, addiction & emotional regulation
🌻Why letting go is one of the most powerful ADHD habits
🌻Music, TV shows & media as survival tools
🌻Why guilt, shame & “normal” need to go
I was diagnosed at 44, I’m medicated and I’m done pretending ADHD is either a curse or a gift. It’s just real life and this podcast is about understanding it, not romanticising it.
This episode is stream-of-consciousness, honest, sometimes messy and let's face it very ADHD.
If you are neurodivergent or creative entrepreneur, an ADHD parent or simply like stuff, there's something for you here.

This episode may have been recorded earlier in the life of the podcast, but the habits inside it are ones I still come back to especially as someone running a business with ADHD.
Here we explore simple, repeatable habits that support visibility, resilience and growth without burnout, particularly helpful if you struggle with consistency, overthinking or decision fatigue.
In this episode, we cover
1️⃣ The “Pick Me” List a habit for visibility
A weekly habit of proactive outreach that removes pressure and overthinking.
Instead of waiting to be discovered, you intentionally build connections by reaching out podcasts, collaborations, events or opportunities in a way that works with an ADHD brain.
2️⃣ Nurturing your own digital real estate
Your newsletter and website are spaces you own no algorithms, no noise.
We talk about why these platforms matter, how to maintain them in small, manageable chunks and how one hour a week can compound into long-term business stability.
3️⃣ Social media habits that don’t drain you
Rather than trying to do everything, this episode encourages choosing platforms that suit you.
Repurposing content, keeping things simple, and trusting that repetition is not failure it’s consistency.
This conversation sits at the intersection of habits, ADHD, business and energy focusing on systems that support you, not systems you have to force yourself into.

This is an earlier episode of the podcast but the message is even more relevant now, especially if you’re building a business with ADHD.
Because let’s be honest
“Time management” advice doesn’t work for an ADHD brain.
In this episode, we reframe productivity through simple, repeatable habits that reduce overwhelm and increase revenue without burnout.
We cover
1️⃣ Revenue-First Thinking (ADHD-Friendly Focus)
Instead of trying to do everything, ask
“Is this actually making me money?”
Identify your 3 key revenue-generating tasks
• Focus on what moves the needle
• Stop giving your best energy to low-impact admin
Less scatter. More clarity.
2️⃣ Delegation Without Guilt
Executive function is a resource not a personality trait.
If someone can do it better, faster, or with less mental load:
Delegate it.
Free your brain for the work only you can do.
3️⃣ Invest in Your Brain & Your Business
ADHD entrepreneurs thrive when we stay stimulated and adaptable.
Stay aware of industry shifts
• Embrace new tools
• Be willing to pivot
• Don’t cling to outdated systems out of fear
Growth requires flexibility not perfection.
🔥 Your ADHD Business Challenge
Today
✔ Identify 3 revenue-generating tasks
✔ Complete them before anything else
✔ Research one new trend in your industry
✔ Ask: “How can I adapt this simply?”
This is about calm business, sustainable habits, and working with your ADHD brain not against it.

Sobriety & Self-Trust in Entrepreneurship | Rebuilding From the Inside Out
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm Podcast and the message is even more powerful now.
It can be so easy to lose yourself in
• Corporate pressure
• Toxic productivity
• Masking
• Performing instead of living
• Chasing dopamine instead of peace
In this conversation, I sit down with Amy Kiernan entrepreneur, founder, and sober trailblazer.
We talk about what happens when you stop outsourcing your worth and start rebuilding self-trust.
We explore
✨ Why sobriety can sharpen clarity for Entrepreneurial brains
✨ The difference between ambition and toxic productivity
✨ How corporate environments can erode self-trust
✨ Surrender vs control (especially when your nervous system loves chaos)
✨ Slowing down as a power move
✨ Building businesses that align with your wellbeing
Amy shares how embracing authenticity, not perfection helped her leave a high-profile corporate career and build a wellness-led business rooted in intention.
And here’s the ADHD piece:
So many high-achieving neurodivergent women overcompensate.
We overwork.
We overthink.
We override our intuition.
The Habit Path isn’t about doing more.
It’s about regulating your nervous system, building sustainable habits and creating structure that supports your brain, not burns it out.
Sobriety. Self-trust. Systems.
All connected.

Habits & Money | Why Budgeting Feels So Emotional
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm Podcast but if you’re an ADHD entrepreneur trying to build calm, it’s more relevant than ever.
Because money isn’t just numbers.
For ADHD brains, it’s often
• Avoidance
• Impulse spending (hello dopamine)
• Shame
• “I’ll deal with it later”
• All-or-nothing thinking
In this powerful conversation, I sit down with financial wellness expert Santis O’Garro, founder of The Budget Mindset Club, to talk about the habits behind financial empowerment.
And the truth?
You can’t build a calm business without building calm around money.
We explore
✨ “To be honest about money, you have to be honest with yourself.”
✨ The emotion behind spending (especially for neurodivergent brains)
✨ Why budgeting can feel lonely and how to make it sustainable
✨ Writing your debt down (and why that’s confronting but freeing)
✨ Santis’s journey clearing €15k+ of debt in under a year
✨ Her 4 Families Method
✨ Living and building with ADHD
Here’s what I love most about this episode
Budgeting isn’t restriction.
It’s regulation.
It’s a habit.
A system.
A way of reducing decision fatigue.
When you build financial systems that work with your ADHD not against it you create
More safety.
More clarity.
More choice.
And that’s the foundation of The Calm Business Method.
If money feels heavy, chaotic, or avoided. This one is for you.

Emotional Regulation & Safe Spaces at Work
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm Podcast but the conversation feels even more important now.
In so many instances work doesn’t just drain your time, it drains your nervous system.
Masking.
Overthinking.
People-pleasing.
Conflict sensitivity.
Emotional dysregulation.
In this episode we explore something we don’t talk about enough in business
Love as a value.
Emotional safety as strategy.
Connection as leadership.
I’m joined by Chartered Psychologist Niamh Hannan, who shares her work around emotional connection in the workplace and why people are entitled to a safe space at work.
And here’s the ADHD layer
When you have a busy brain, emotional safety isn’t a luxury.
It’s a necessity.
We talk about
✨ Creating psychologically safe workplaces
✨ Conflict resolution through emotional connection
✨ Rebuilding trust at work
✨ Why meditation becomes non-negotiable for busy brains
✨ Leading without losing yourself
“If you have a busy brain, you need meditation.”
That line hits differently when you understand ADHD.
Meditation isn’t about perfection.
It’s about regulation.
It’s a habit that creates space between stimulus and reaction.
And that space?
That’s where calm leadership lives.
The Habit Path isn’t just productivity.
It’s nervous system safety.
It’s emotional intelligence.
It’s structure that protects your brain.
If you’re an ADHD entrepreneur, leader or corporate survivor trying to build calm without shutting down your ambition, this one is for you.

ADHD & Alcohol | When “Fun” Is Actually Dysregulation
This is an earlier episode of The Corporate to Calm Podcast and if you’re ADHD, sensitive or building a calm life, this conversation hits differently now.
Because for many neurodivergent women, alcohol isn’t just social.
It’s
• Nervous system relief
• Masking support
• Dopamine on demand
• A way to quiet the noise
• A way to belong
And then… the crash.
The shame.
The overstimulation.
The emotional hangover that lasts longer than the physical one.
In this episode, I sit down with Alcohol-Free Mentor Olivia Farrelly to talk about untangling from alcohol culture and what happens when you choose clarity instead.
Olivia shares the moment everything shifted:
“I couldn’t exist with hungover me anymore. I couldn’t bear being so mean to me.”
That line lands hard when you understand ADHD self-criticism.
We explore
✨ Why alcohol and highly sensitive / ADHD brains don’t mix
✨ The link between dopamine, impulsivity & drinking
✨ Using your words to rewrite your story
✨ Removing alcohol as a habit shift, not a punishment
✨ The growth that happens when you regulate instead of numb
✨ Choosing peace over performance
Here’s the Habit Path truth
Sobriety isn’t restriction.
It’s nervous system regulation.
It’s self-trust.
It’s clarity.
For ADHD entrepreneurs especially, removing alcohol can mean
Better executive function.
Better emotional regulation.
Better boundaries.
Better mornings.
I’m almost four years into my sober journey and I echo this
“Giving up alcohol is one of the greatest achievements of my life.”
If you’re sober curious, grey area drinking or just questioning your habits, this conversation will meet you gently.

Creative & ADHD Entrepreneurs | Make Your Own Rules
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm podcast AND the message feels even stronger now.
Because if you have ADHD and you’re running a business, trying to follow traditional rules will burn you out.
In this conversation, I sit down with hypnotherapist for entrepreneurs Alice Nettleingham to talk about life design, freedom and building a business that actually fits your brain.
“If you’re gonna run your own business, make your own rules.”
And that hits differently when you’re neurodivergent.
We explore
✨ Designing a business around your energy (not expectations)
✨ Cutting complexity to reduce overwhelm
✨ The discipline behind freedom
✨ Letting go of “how it should look”
✨ Simplifying to scale
✨ Living and working intentionally
Here’s the actual and ADHD truth
Complexity creates paralysis.
Overcomplication kills consistency.
Freedom without structure becomes chaos.
The Habit Path isn’t about rigid routines.
It’s about simple systems that protect your creativity.
Structure protects your nervous system.
Structure protects your ideas.
Structure protects your income.
Alice’s journey from digital nomad to intentional entrepreneur is proof that you can design both life and business on purpose.
If you’re an ADHD or Creative entrepreneur craving more freedom but stuck in overwhelm, this episode will remind you
You don’t need more hustle.
You need cleaner habits and better systems.

ADHD, Reinvention & The Power of “Forward”
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm podcast but if you’re an ADHD entrepreneur or creative who’s reinvented yourself more than once, this will resonate deeply.
Because ADHD brains don’t follow linear paths.
We pivot.
We hyperfocus.
We outgrow.
We crave novelty.
We move countries.
We change industries.
In this episode, I sit down with journalist Fiona Alston, whose journey took her from horse racing to the tech sector and eventually to building a new life in Tallinn, Estonia.
Her mantra?
“Forward!"
And “Don’t drag things with you.”
That’s powerful for ADHD women.
Because one of our biggest challenges isn’t starting.
It’s carrying shame, past decisions, and “shoulds” that weigh us down.
We explore
✨ Reinvention without apology
✨ Making bold life pivots
✨ Navigating uncertainty with resilience
✨ Living nomadically and embracing change
✨ Choosing alignment over expectation
Here’s the Habit Path lens
Reinvention isn’t chaos.
It’s redirection.
But without structure, ADHD pivots can become reactive instead of intentional.
The goal isn’t to stop changing.
It’s to build habits and systems that anchor you while you evolve.
You can move forward.
Without dragging burnout.
Without dragging guilt.
Without dragging versions of you that no longer fit.
If you’re in a season of change career shift, relocation, identity evolution this conversation will remind you that forward is enough.

ADHD, Creativity & Building a Business That Actually Fits
This is an earlier episode of the Corporate to Calm podcast and if you're a multi-passionate entrepreneur, this on will hit home.
Because some of us aren’t meant to do one thing.
We’re teachers.
Creators.
Strategists.
Supporters.
Community builders.
In this episode, I sit down with the incredible Helena Croash, businesswoman, educator, jewellery creator, social media strategist and champion of women in business.
And here’s what stands out through the ADHD lens
Multi-passion isn’t confusion.
It’s capacity.
The key? Structure.
We talk about
✨ Supporting other women in business (your circle matters)
✨ Integrity, honesty & community
✨ Adapting quickly to social media evolution
✨ Turning creativity into income
✨ Teaching what you know
✨ Building business around your strengths
“As an entrepreneur, I copped social media really quickly.”
That ability to spot patterns, adapt fast, and move with energy?
Very ADHD-coded.
But without systems, that same brain can burn out.
The Habit Path is about harnessing creativity without drowning in it.
It’s about
Simple systems.
Repeatable habits.
Clear structure.
So your ideas don’t stay ideas.
If you’re multi-passionate, easily bored, creatively wired, and trying to build a sustainable business, this conversation is a reminder
You don’t need to shrink your gifts.
You need structure that protects them.

ADHD, Data & Respecting Your Time
This is an earlier episode (back when the podcast was Corporate to Calm) but the message feels even more powerful now for ADHD entrepreneurs.
Because if you have ADHD, time can feel slippery.
Money can feel emotional.
Focus can feel inconsistent.
And information overload? Constant.
In this episode, I sit down with Ellen Gunning, PR Consultant, Data Prophet, Author, Broadcaster, Serial Entrepreneur and founder of both the Irish Academy of Public Relations and Mettacomms.
With over 30 years in business, Ellen shares a principle that stopped me in my tracks
“I’ve great respect for my own time and money.”
That’s a Habit Path cornerstone.
Because for ADHD brains, respecting your time isn’t natural, it’s a system.
We explore
✨ Building longevity in business
✨ Extracting the right data (not drowning in it)
✨ Crisis communications & clear messaging
✨ The intersection of tech, media & people
✨ Thought leadership that’s strategic not reactive
✨ Why protecting your time protects your energy
Here’s the ADHD angle
Our brains are brilliant at spotting patterns.
At connecting dots.
At thinking strategically.
But without structure, we
Overconsume.
Overcommit.
Overextend.
The Habit Path isn’t about doing more.
It’s about filtering better.
Clarity is a habit.
Boundaries are a habit.
Financial self-respect is a habit.
Ellen embodies what happens when you combine intellect with discipline.
If you’re building a business with ADHD and want to stop leaking time, energy and attention this conversation will sharpen you.

ADHD & Alcohol - When “Sober Curious” Becomes Self-Respect
This is an earlier episode (from my Sobriety Stories series when the podcast was Corporate to Calm) but the conversation feels even more relevant now.
Because for ADHD brains, alcohol can become
• A dopamine shortcut
• A social mask
• A nervous system “off switch”
• A reward after overstimulation
Until it isn’t.
Until it creates more dysregulation than relief.
In this episode, I’m joined by Lynda Emmett, who chose to question her relationship with alcohol and has now been alcohol-free for over four years.
Sobriety isn’t about restriction.
It’s about regulation.
It’s about building habits that protect your peace instead of sabotaging it.
Through the Habit Path lens, removing alcohol can mean
✨ Better executive function
✨ More emotional stability
✨ Clearer mornings
✨ Reduced shame cycles
✨ Stronger self-trust
This conversation is honest, open and free of judgement.
If you’re sober curious, grey-area drinking or simply exploring your habits this is your invitation to reflect without pressure.
You don’t have to hit rock bottom to choose better for your brain.

ADHD, Sleep & The Habit That Changes Everything
This is an earlier episode from Corporate to Calm podcast but the conversation is more relevant than ever.
Because if you have ADHD, sleep isn’t optional.
It’s foundational.
In this episode, I sit down with Síne Dunne, founder of Siest Sleep, to talk about the one habit that underpins all others
Rest
Síne's journey began with her own sleep struggles while working at Google. Síne was surviving on five hours a night and feeling the ripple effects of stress, anxiety and exhaustion.
Instead of pushing through or masking burnout, she built a solution.
Why This Matters for ADHD
For neurodivergent brains, poor sleep amplifies
• Emotional dysregulation
• Impulse control issues
• Executive dysfunction
• Rejection sensitivity
• Anxiety spirals
• Dopamine crashes
Sleep is not laziness.
It’s regulation.
Through the Habits Path lens, sleep is a keystone habit. When it improves, everything improves
✨ Focus
✨ Patience
✨ Productivity
✨ Hormonal balance
✨ Nervous system stability
The Product
Síne created the weighted Siest Sleeper ethically made in Dublin and designed to calm the nervous system through deep pressure stimulation.
For ADHD brains that struggle to “switch off,” this kind of sensory support can be powerful.
No complicated system.
Just regulation through comfort.
The Bigger Mission
Síne is now studying Sleep Medicine & Insomnia at the University of Oxford, deepening her understanding of the science behind rest.
Her number one sleep tip?
Know when to ask for help.
Because sleep struggles are not a personal failure. They’re often a stress signal.
If you’re building habits without fixing your sleep, you’re building on sand.
This episode is a reminder
You cannot optimise a dysregulated nervous system.

ADHD | Values & The Habit of Courage
This is an earlier episode from Corporate to Calm but the message is even more relevant now through the ADHD lens.
Because when you’re neurodivergent, values misalignment doesn’t just feel uncomfortable…
It feels dysregulating.
In this episode, I speak with Sue McLoughlin, founder of Strive to Thrive, about change leadership, transformation and what happens when your corporate role no longer matches your core values.
Many ADHD women stay too long in environments that
• Drain their nervous system
• Clash with their ethics
• Ignore unconscious bias
• Reward masking over authenticity
Sue talks about bridging the gap between business needs and technical change but what struck me most was her decision to walk away from a significant values gap.
That’s not impulsivity.
That’s alignment.
And alignment is a habit.
When your habits don’t align with your values, you experience
⚡ Burnout
⚡ Frustration
⚡ Emotional dysregulation
⚡ Executive fatigue
When they do align, you build
✨ Confidence
✨ Sustainable leadership
✨ People-centric growth
✨ Nervous system safety
Sue’s people-first approach to Change & Transformation empowers organisations to evolve without losing the humans inside them.
And for ADHD professionals navigating change? That matters.
Sue has generously shared a powerful values tool to accompany the episode:

Change isn’t just strategy.

ADHD | Entrepreneurship & The Habit of Starting Before You’re Ready
This is an earlier episode from Corporate to Calm and Amy’s story feels even more relevant now.
Because for so many ADHD women, entrepreneurship doesn’t start with a five-year plan.
It starts at the kitchen table.
In this episode, I speak with Amy Herbert, founder of The Little Wax Company, about how a hobby making wax melts with her daughter turned into a thriving air-care business.
ADHD women often
• Hyperfocus on creative projects
• Pivot careers more than once
• Build businesses from passion, not spreadsheets
• Need autonomy to thrive
Amy stepped away from corporate sales to raise her children and during that season, creativity became the spark.
What began as wax melts at the kitchen table evolved into a brand built with consistency, courage and habit stacking.
Success wasn’t accidental.
It was built through
✨ Discipline (even when motivation fluctuates)
✨ Time boundaries (essential for ADHD brains)
✨ Late-night order packing with true crime podcasts as self-regulation
✨ Support from the right ecosystem
Amy credits the Fingal Local Enterprise Office for helping her bridge the gap between idea and execution a reminder that ADHD entrepreneurs don’t need to do everything alone.
Support is a strategy.
Networking is a habit.
And structure creates freedom.
Why This Matters for ADHD Entrepreneurs
When you create systems around your creativity, you
⚡ Reduce overwhelm
⚡ Protect your energy
⚡ Turn hyperfocus into income
⚡ Build sustainable momentum
Amy’s journey proves that starting small is still starting.
