What is a self-limiting belief? It’s a hidden script, playing in your subconscious mind that runs your life without you even realizing it. Self-limiting beliefs are those things about yourself that you believe to be true, which are setting limits on your abilities. They are whispering to you that something isn’t true, that it isn’t achievable.  You may not even know what your self-limiting beliefs are. But you know something is nibbling away at you as you struggle to make something happen. In the case of negotiation, you may be trying hard to reach a result that just isn’t happening. A self-limiting belief is the likely culprit. Join Cindy Watson as she tackles common self-limiting beliefs; how they’re formed; why self-limiting beliefs are so destructive to your negotiation success; and how to overcome them. Just imagine how much more significant your personal potential would be if every belief you had completely supported and nurtured you? And on the flip side, think about how you are sabotaging your progress and success if they don’t. That’s why it’s essential to overcome your self-limiting beliefs and realize your true potential in negotiation. Have you ever had to negotiate with someone who just won’t play fair? In an ideal world, negotiations are always fair. But in real life, things often don’t play out the way we want them to. There is always the possibility one party won’t play by the rules. Because of that, it’s important to be able to identify the tricks unfair negotiators will use to try to ‘win’.   In this episode, we uncover some of those tricks, as well as ways to counter them and tips to employ. We touch on everything from dealing with bullies, ultimatums and sexists to tactics like delays, rolling concessions and cultural exploitation. While you may enter into a negotiation with someone who doesn’t play fair and think that you “just can’t win,” you have many tools at your disposal to tip the scales in your favor.   It’s important to note though that the most successful negotiators don’t play dirty. Rather, they are attempting to reach an agreement where everyone is mutually satisfied and happy. If you both are coming from this perspective, you are more likely to achieve more successful outcomes and implementation.   For more valuable tips on how to negotiate more effectively, be sure to check out our webpage at www.womeonpurpose.ca   If you want a transcript of this episode, click here:  https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/negotiating-when-someone-doesnt-play-fair/   CONNECT WITH CINDY: Website: www.womenonpurpose.ca Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/womenonpurposecommunity/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenonpurposecoaching/ LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/thecindywatson Show: https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/media/podcast-2/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/womenonpurpose1 YouTube: http://bit.ly/WomenonPurposeYT Email:  cindy@womenonpurpose.ca Schedule an appointment with Cindy- https://calendly.com/cwatson-3/60min
Sheila Mac’s mission is to teach women how to find a glimmer of light in even the darkest situation. Sheila discusses her new book, Bootstraps & Bra Straps, a beacon for all the women who have spent their lives showing up for everyone else and now need someone to show up for them. She shares her B.O.O.T.S blueprint to reinventing yourself: B = Being [who were you and who you need to be now] O = Orientation [where are you at realistically and how can you choose goals based on that reality] O = Order of Operations [in what order do you need to do things] T = Thinking [choose your mindset to make everything as beautiful as you can] S = Stepping Up [step into little actions and changes that will affect every area of your life] We discuss the importance of showing up as who you really are and the importance of keeping your feminine. We also share some tips for living your best life, including: Sit down and think of a situation from your past. Consider who you were and who you decided to become and the shift that was needed to make that happen. Explore the truth about where things are for you and the outcome you want for this year. Look for your success, not what everyone defines as success for you. Remember to meet your needs so you can show up better and stronger. Matthew Coast is the creator of The Forever Woman, a best selling program that helps women ensure they are loved, seen, and cherished in relationships. His articles, videos, and programs reach over two million women, all over the world, every single month. In this interview, Matthew talks about how to raise your value with men in romantic relationships. While some women may bristle at the idea of having to establish our value, Matthew really promotes loving yourself. He promotes the core principles to get what you want as:   Believing that you deserve it Putting yourself in a valuable position Communicating in a high value way This isn’t about needing to establish your value based on external validation. What separates you from everyone else? How do you reframe those old beliefs and habits that may be holding you back from having the relationship you desire. The more emotion we have tied to something the more we become tied to those beliefs. So it’s important to emotionalize more empowering beliefs and finding evidence to support those more powerful thoughts. Discover tools to create an abundance of connection in your life so you have options and will not become too attached to any one option or outcome. Matthew busts some myths on the subject and discusses the difference between establishing your value at work versus in a romantic relationship, including the sum-cost principle and how that plays out in relationships.   Learn more about Matthew at: https://www.facebook.com/MatthewCoastRA/  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcL9spxJvF7ET57igXURwOw  For free resources about how to negotiate your best life go to our webpage at www.womenonpurpose.ca – blogposts, including blogpost on how to negotiate your relationship with your intimate partner Also make sure to join our Women on purpose community at https://www.facebook.com/groups/Womenonpurposecommunity/ CONNECT WITH CINDY: Website: www.womenonpurpose.ca Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/womenonpurposecommunity/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenonpurposecoaching/ LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/thecindywatson Show: https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/media/podcast-2/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/womenonpurpose1 YouTube: http://bit.ly/WomenonPurposeYT Email:  cindy@womenonpurpose.ca Schedule an appointment with Cindy- https://calendly.com/cwatson-3/60min
As a young woman, Elaine was crushed between 3 cars and suffered massive internal injuries and endured multiple surgeries.     Elaine bravely self proclaims that she is a functional junkie and shares her journey in hopes it may help others gain insight.     We discuss how the fact that pain killer addiction is treated like a dirty little secret perpetuates the problem (if not creates the problem).     People in chronic pain experience shame.     Tips for people suffering from pain killer addiction:     You have to do it for you (not for others in your life).     Overcome the feeling that you don't deserve better.     Dig deep to call on courage to seek help.     Take that first step.     Tips for family of people who suffer from addiction:     The more you push to help, the more likely they'll push away.     When they seem to rebel against you, it's often their way of trying to protect you (because we are hard-wired to protect those we love).     Addicts often suffer from lack of self-confidence.     Just keep loving them.     You can't control others, but you can control your own reaction.     When they feel judged by you, you are telling them they are less than. So it feels like you're giving love on the one hand and rescinding it with the other.   Elaine’s New Program: https://www.troolsocial.com/prepare-prosper-now-in-the-new-economy/   Website: https://www.troolsocial.com Instagram: http://instagram.com/troolsocial   CONNECT WITH CINDY: Website: www.womenonpurpose.ca Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/womenonpurposecommunity/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenonpurposecoaching/ LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/thecindywatson Show: https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/media/podcast-2/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/womenonpurpose1 YouTube: http://bit.ly/WomenonPurposeYT Email:  cindy@womenonpurpose.ca Schedule an appointment with Cindy- https://calendly.com/cwatson-3/60min
How often do you apologize in a typical day? Women tend to apologize often – and definitely more often than men. Apologizing typically doesn’t serve you. It can become a disempowering habit that undermines your credibility, confidence and self-esteem. As children, we’re taught that apologizing is polite and expected. Maybe it’s time to recognize that pre-emptive apologizing no longer serves you and acknowledge that it’s time to let it go. What if you turned that habit on its head? What if you decided that you were entitled to want things without guilt or fear of judgement? That you’re entitled to have a voice, be heard, and take up space without asking to be excused for it? What if, today, you decided that you’re entitled to negotiate your life on your terms?   In this episode, Cindy points out the many ways we apologize without thought and the negative impact of this excessive apologizing. She challenges you to go on a personal apology fast, stop saying sorry and re-training yourself to find more empowering ways to communicate.    CONNECT WITH CINDY: Website: www.womenonpurpose.ca Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/womenonpurposecommunity/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenonpurposecoaching/ LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/thecindywatson Show: https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/media/podcast-2/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/womenonpurpose1 YouTube: http://bit.ly/WomenonPurposeYT Email:  cindy@womenonpurpose.ca   Schedule an appointment with Cindy- https://calendly.com/cwatson-3/60min
In this episode, Cindy and Marta discuss: How a photography session can help you get your confidence back.  The power of a boudoir photography session. Moving past living with a psychological emergency break. How to gain confidence in your own body. Buying and wearing lingerie for you.   Key Takeaways: Step outside your comfort zone. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. When you look in the mirror, appreciate what is good about yourself.  We need to learn to love what we have. Upgrading our bodies, our houses, our cars, whatever it is, will not make us happier.  The image you see in the mirror is not what other people see.    "We are so blind to what is beautiful and right with us." —  Marta Perales  Connect with Marta Perales:Twitter: Facebook: Magnificent FemmeInstagram: @magnificentfemmeWebsite: MagnificentFemme.com Go to Marta’s website to find out more about her 40 over 40 campaign and her upcoming courses!    Get your free Woman on Purpose Blueprint E-Book- How to find your true purpose and become a woman who lives fully, on purpose, every day CONNECT WITH CINDY: Website: www.womenonpurpose.ca Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/womenonpurposecommunity/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenonpurposecoaching/ LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/thecindywatson Show: https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/media/podcast-2/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/womenonpurpose1 YouTube: http://bit.ly/WomenonPurposeYT Email:  cindy@womenonpurpose.ca   Schedule an appointment with Cindy- https://calendly.com/cwatson-3/60min

Stepping into your feminine power with confidence and embracing your value.  Living with a mindset of service.   Key Takeaways: Happiness comes from alignment to your core purpose, not to your path. Women loving and supporting women is going to have profound effects on the world.  Allow the confidence/competence loop work in your favor. In this episode, Cindy and Trina discuss: How consulting gives you freedom that other fields may not. Seeing your strengths in your past hurdles. The strengths in having a Power 2 Hours. Increasing your efficiency.    Key Takeaways: If you have any skills, talent, or experience, you have something to offer. Give yourself a boundary. Pick your window that is your “Power 2 Hours” and you will get everything else you need done anyway.  Be protective of your two hour window (or 2 separate hours if that works better with your schedule). Set timers and be strict with that. Always keep growing as an entrepreneur.     "If we're not using our time efficiently, we're draining our energy. In this episode, Cindy and Tricia discuss: How to differentiate between physical and emotional hunger.  The hidden cases of emotional eating and how to heal and deal with obsessive food thoughts.  Ways to manage stress before it drives you to the kitchen. The PEP test and ways we use food.   Key Takeaways: Emotional eating is a spectrum, but essentially everyone is an emotional eater in some fashion.  We are in the driver’s seat. We don’t have to people please; we can make new choices. Overeaters are overdoers. There is a connection between how we are living and how we are eating. Start your day centered and grounded. If you do that, you will make better, self-care decisions throughout the day.  It is not about the food and it is not about the weight. The compulsion comes from a deeper place.    "Overweight is a symptom of overeating. Overeating is a symptom of what is eating me. In this episode, Cindy and Karen discuss: The evolution in the treatment of mental health and the increase in mental health issues with the new generations. Dr. Cassiday’s studies in positive psychology and how it is coloring how she is handling wellness during this unusual time we are living in. Characteristics of a resilient person and what it means to be a resilient person. What good humor is and developing it within ourselves.  Ways to boost our own and others mental health with just the little things.    Key Takeaways: Uncertainty is highly unlikely to trigger worry. How you handle uncertainty is the real enemy, not the situation itself.  Start digging out the present moment problem. You will feel empowered, not overwhelmed.  There are moments of beauty every single day, even when we are in a hard situation. Tracking daily gratitude every day, just three things each day, and you can help to strengthen your mental health and even decrease depression. Track and share the funny things in your day - celebrate the moments of absurdity and joy and laughter.     "Hope is what happens when you believe that there’s a better future, and that you’re the one to get there, even if you don’t know how to do it right now. That you have the ability to learn on the job, so to speak." —  Dr. Karen Cassiday  Connect with Dr. Karen Cassiday:Twitter: @DrKarenCassidayFacebook Group: Moms Without Worry Community Website: MomsWithoutWorry.comLinkedIn: Dr. Karen Lynn Cassiday  TedxTalk: Imperfect Fear: Why Parenting Doesn’t Need a Handbook Get your free Woman on Purpose Blueprint E-Book- How to find your true purpose and become a woman who lives fully, on purpose, every day   CONNECT WITH CINDY: Website: www.womenonpurpose.ca Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/womenonpurposecommunity/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenonpurposecoaching/  LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/thecindywatson  Show: https://www.womenonpurpose.ca/media/podcast-2/  Twitter:  https://twitter.com/womenonpurpose1  YouTube: http://bit.ly/WomenonPurposeYT  Email:  cindy@womenonpurpose.ca   Schedule an appointment with Cindy- https://calendly.com/cwatson-3/60min
