It is out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Our hearts are what connect us to God and that is where the prophetic flows from. For this reason, we need to be a generation that has their hearts right before God. God is a relational God; He wants to dwell with His people. This means that our hearts need constant attention and cultivation to keep them open before God and bringing forth the message that He wants us to deliver to the world we live in. In this episode of Abiding Matters, Charissa talks with Sarah Morgan, the founder of School of Prophets. Sarah, and her husband Gary, began the school to train people to not only hear God’s voice but also His heart. Sarah shares about her own journey with God and what she has learnt about ministry. She shares about the importance of stewarding the gifts of the Holy Spirit and some of the challenges we face in our journey with Jesus. If you are interested in the prophetic, then this episode with encourage and equip you to dream with God.
A prophetic word allows us to tap into a spiritual reality for our lives, our families, and our world. When we steward the prophetic words that the Holy Spirit gives us, we are engaging with the Apostle Paul’s revelation of calling into being that which does not exist (Romans 4:16-17). This is a gift from God, where we partner with seeing His kingdom established on earth through the prophetic words He has given to us. On this episode, Sarah Cheesman, The Happy Profit, shares about the importance of stewarding the prophetic gift with joy and tenacious faith. She explains how she comes into agreement with the heart of God and decrees these areas into being. Sarah shares a powerful word at the end of this episode to unlock your ability to dream with God and see your dreams come to pass.

Spiritual Warfare is not just a defensive action, it is an offensive strategy. Knowing how to engage effectively in spiritual warfare will see our prayers prevail instead of fail. The Apostle Paul taught in Ephesians 6 that prayer is the tactical strategy of any battle. Prayer leads to salvation, it enables us to obtain full joy, it brings us into freedom and brings victory in the fiercest of fights. We know that Jesus’s life was marked by prayer and it gave Him the power and strength endure the cross. In this episode of Abiding Matters we focus on five keys that will change the way you see prayer. As you apply these keys to your prayer life you will begin to shift atmospheres and deliver solutions to the world around you. How do you move forward after disaster strikes? God in His kindness gives us hope as we look to Him as Creator. He is the God who creates out of nothing. He took the formless chaos and transformed it into a beautiful new world that humanity could inhabit. When our world feels out of control, God is still in control and He has equipped us with the power to recreate our destiny with Him. We were created to create. When we partner with God we turn our disasters into a new destiny. Just like David did when he overcame Goliath and set Israel free. It was a disaster that he turned into his destiny by knowing who he was and who God was. This podcast will help equip you with an anointing to create something new, cultivate what God has placed in side of you, and celebrate your victory.
God speaks to us in a myriad of ways. From the still small voice, to dreams and visions, there are many ways that we can encounter the Holy Spirit. God speaks to different people in different ways. In His profound wisdom He gives us all ‘parts’ so that when we come together we get the bigger picture – His bigger picture. God desires that we meet Him in intimacy and in holiness. One of the keys to releasing our prophetic voice is making purity a priority. Our heart is a filter for the prophetic message we carry and to honor Father God we need to keep a healthy heart. This comes as we make His presence more important than our performance of any ministry or gift. If we try to prophesy out of our own soul or knowledge without the Father’s heart we miss the point of the gift.
Hearing God should be a normal part of our life as Christians, yet many believers struggle to recognise what the Spirit is saying to them. This podcast, is the first in a series about the prophetic. It will free you to listen to God’s voice and draw you into a deeper understanding of how God desires to relates to you. It will help you to perceive what God is saying and it will unlock the prophetic within you. The prophetic is a gift that God has given to His children, along with the other spiritual gifts that Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians 14. Prophesy is not only a way that Father God communicates with us, rather it is a way that He communes with His beloved children. As we learn to dwell in unity with the Godhead, we awaken to the potential we have to partner with the Holy Spirit. There is a wonderful responsibility that we carry to release our prophetic voice to the world around us. This is an episode that will help you gain a greater understanding of the power of the prophetic within you. Free Devotional “Words of the Wise” is available at www.abidingmatters.com.au
A game changer moment usually happens at a challenging but opportune time. We see many such moments throughout scripture, in particular this time of March and April are important. God wants us to incline our ear to hear him at this time and hear his heart for us. We have entered into a special time, an opportune time, as we are now in the Hebrew month of Nisan. This month is considered to be a time that is marked by miracles. It is a time where God shows up to change the game for His people. Consider that it was during this time that the first Passover occurred. In Exodus 12 we see the Lord instructing Moses to prepare the people for the first Passover and their deliverance from Egypt. This was a game changing moment for Israel, everything was about to be altered. They were saved from death and set free to go and dwell with God in their promised land. That first Passover was the scene setter for what would then occur at the same time many years later. Jesus was “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). He was The Game Changer. When we come to this time of the year, we need to be paying particular attention to what God is doing because game changing events happen!
When does God fight for us? It can be hard to know which battles we are called to fight and which ones we need to let God fight. Learning to listen to God’s wisdom ensures spiritual maturity. A fruit of this process is the gift of discernment, which allows us to make the right choice at the right time, just like Abigail in 1 Samuel 25. Abigail was a woman who was known as delightful, discerning, and brave. A wise heroine who knew when to fight and when to trust that God would intervene. Her maturity, understanding of the law, and of God’s heart saved her household and the future King of Israel. Come with me as we learn key principles from Abigail in discerning the heart of God in our battles. Jesus himself chose to live in the Fear of the Lord Isaiah 11:1-5 teaches us. So what does this mean? It means that Jesus laid down his own understanding of what He saw and heard, in his human form, in reverence for the leading of the Spirit of God. If this is what Jesus did, shouldn’t we do likewise? Often we rely on our own understanding to make life decisions, which can lead us down a path of good choices rather than Godly choices. This podcast will look deeper at biblical wisdom and what it means to live with the ‘Fear of the Lord’. It will help you to value God’s voice of wisdom so that you will be able prosper in every area of life. When a storm hits, water can no longer reflect the beauty around it, only the veracity of the turmoil upon it. So often this is what happens in life. When circumstances are clear, we reflect the calmness of those pristine moments. When the storms hit, our peace is shattered and we struggle to reflect anything more than the chaos that is upon us. In this episode we will discover how to not only find the voice of God in the storm but learn how to reflect it in such a way that we master the storm like Jesus did in Mark 4:35-41. Miracle milestones tell us three things, how far we have come, where we are right now, and how far we have to go. What are the miracle milestones that have marked your journey with God? These are powerful moments of encounter where an exchange takes place, God reminds us of his promises and marks us with his presence. This episode looks at how to value the voice of God in encounters with him and the power that comes from our testimony to defeat the enemy from them.
