Above The Line

The comedian Jason Manford has a joke about how dangerous football rivalries can be . To paraphrase, he says that above a certain level of intelligence it’s all just banter, but below that line somebody is getting hurt. For anyone from Glasgow it’s impossible not to see the relevance of that in the Old Firm rivalry, which has seen more than its fair share of violence over the years. On top of that, the ubiquity, anonymity, and instant nature of social media has only served to fuel the tribalism found amongst fans of Rangers and Celtic. It is almost impossible to find reasoned debate between fans either side of the rivalry. Well not anymore. Above The Line podcast is two guys talking about Scottish Football, from the perspective of the Old Firm clubs. Colin is a Rangers man and Callum is a Celtic man. They hate each other. The clubs that is, Colin and Callum get along quite well. The idea is simple, bring some reasoned debate back to the table and try to keep everyone above the line. We hope you enjoy!
