Sometimes you have a conversation with a student that is GOLD and you just know you have to share it. One of my biggest strategies for helping my students get a 7+ band score is working on brainstorming. This week, as I was giving feedback on an essay to a student, we got into a discussion about how helpful brainstorming is to getting a 7 and I just had to share. “I brainstorm but then when I’m writing, I start to have different ideas coming from different parts of my mind and then I start to mix things up.  When I start to mix things up, I lose control and when I lose control, I write, write, write and then I run out of time and I haven’t said what I want to say and I don’t have time to check my essay and I start to freak out. “ This is how one of my students explained the experience of sitting down to write the IELTS essay.  Can you relate?  This week, we discuss how to avoid this feeling of being all mixed up when it comes to the IELTS essay. It’s easy to get a 6.5 in IELTS writing, in my opinion...But it’s MUCH harder to get a 7.  In order to help my students get a 7, I work on a lot of little extra tips.  Little nuances to add. Better ways to introduce and sequence their arguments.  One thing I do is add development and depth of thought through using these two grammar tricks. One of the most important things to understand about the IELTS speaking (and writing ) test, is that you are essentially being asking to give your opinion...but in an academic way.  Does this mean you can lie on the IELTS exam when giving your opinion? Short answer >> yes.  But, I believe there is a better way.   Listen to this week’s episode to get my best tips on this topic. Hi Kristin, You mentioned the current language level evaluation as the first step of IELTS exam preparation. Do you have any specific suggestion for this aim? I mean there are lots of online language exams but I can't say if they're all fine. tnx

To improve your writing you should improve your grammar, vocabulary and all other parts of language. And most important - you need to pay me... Haha just one more useless "teacher". Just waste my time
