Many countries around the globe, including Canada have begun setting up programs where patients can come in and get a prescription for clean, unadulterated heroin. The idea behind this would be that these addicts no longer have to purchase Heroin on the streets which may be tainted with deadly fentanyl or ever worse substances, and thus lower the overdose rates. Along with this, getting these addicts into a clinical setting will increase the likely hood that they will attain full on rehabilitation and recovery guidance. Enjoy the new episode.

In this episode: This week we speak with Tom Ingoglia, business director at the NAD Treatment Center in San Diego, California. NAD or Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a coenzyme found in all living cells and serves numerous roles in the brain and body. In relation to addiction, NAD treatment or therapy has been shown to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings by up to 80% and we are even talking long term, years down the road. NAD levels in the body drop naturally over time as we age, and this may even have a lot to do with the aging process and age related disease like Alzheimer's. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is NOT yet approved by the FDA, but research into NAD shows real promise, although the future of NAD and NAD research is on shaky ground and may be outlawed in the United States in the not too distant future.
