In today’s episode, Tyra’s talking about something she never thought she’d be able to say — she finally feels at home in her body. This week’s pep talk is all about reconnecting with yourself through movement, play, and curiosity. Tyra shares how trying new hobbies like boxing, pottery, and dancing (yes, twerking included!) helped her move out of her head and into her body — not for aesthetics or productivity, but for presence and joy.Pep Talk Challenge: Reconnect to your body through play.Pick one thing this week that brings you joy through movement. In today’s Pep Talk, Tyra is kicking off Soft Life Summer School! Class is in session! This is a laid-back series all about learning how to show up for yourself with more ease, grace, and self-love this season. Today’s lesson is all about movement. But not the “drag yourself to the gym and hate every minute” kind. We’re talking about movement as an act of self-care, connection, and joy. Tyra shares how she retrained her brain to see exercise as a ritual she craves instead of a chore she endures, plus how small, consistent actions (and a little community support) can turn working out into something you actually look forward to. Whether it’s boxing, run club, dancing in your living room, or walking with a friend, this is your mid-week reminder that your body deserves celebration, not punishment.Try Class Pass: They’re giving an exclusive free trial (with 20 bonus credits!) only available to friends of mine. https://shop.tyrathecreative.com/classpass Pep Talk Challenge: Find one way to move your body this week, new or old. Third spaces — the coffee shops, gyms, libraries, and local spots where we casually connect with others — are disappearing, and it’s making us lonelier than ever. Over 60% of Americans say they feel lonely at least some of the time, and too many of us are stuck in the cycle of just home, work, and maybe church. In this Pep Talk Wednesday, Tyra shares how to break out of that cycle by exploring your city like a tourist and creating third (and even fourth!) spaces that help you feel alive and connected again. You’ll learn how to notice the beauty right where you are, how to find hidden gems you’ll actually enjoy, and how to start living a fuller life today.Pep Talk Challenge: Pick one place or activity in your city you’ve never experienced before and make a day of it. It can be a solo date, but it could also be fun to get the whole family involved. Bonus points if it costs nothing. Bring a journal. Be present. Take a picture for yourself if you want. Hey! Ever found yourself stuck in a situation you didn’t plan for — one that felt like an inconvenience, but turned out to be a divine reset? In today’s episode, Tyra unpacks the quiet power of being still, letting go of control, and surrendering to what life is trying to teach you when everything feels off track. There’s wisdom waiting in the pause. This week’s Affirmation is: “I trust that every detour is a part of God’s divine direction.”3 Biggest Takeaways1. Stillness reveals what distraction hides. Being forced to pause allows us to finally hear what our spirit’s been trying to say beneath the noise.2. Detours are often divine redirections.Just because it wasn’t the original plan doesn’t mean it’s not the right path.3. Trust grows in the unknown. What do you think about the sentiment less is more? In this week’s episode Tyra explores the power of doing less — and how that intentional slowing down can lead to more clarity, creativity, and peace. We’ve been taught that rest is something we have to earn, but what if rest is actually the secret to becoming our fullest selves?Through personal stories, gentle reminders, and a few hard truths, Tyra invites you to rethink your relationship with rest and reimagine what productivity can look like when it's rooted in presence instead of pressure. This week’s affirmation is “I choose peace over pressure, and presence over perfection.”3 Biggest Takeaways from this episode:Rest is not a reward — it’s a right.Taking breaks can boost your creativity and productivity, not block it.If you’re not careful, constantly “doing” can cause you to miss the life you're actually living.ResourcesAlexis’ ‘Feeling My Shelf’ Newsletter: https://www.feelingmyshelfnewsletter.com/ 50 side quests to do this year - https://we.tl/t-gmLxjREKx4 Listen to the For Life’s Rainy Day Playlist Wanna give therapy a try? In today’s episode, Tyra is pulling back the curtain on five life-check questions that you should ask yourself before jumping (back) into the dating world. From your relationship with money to your routines and future goals, this is the episode that’ll help you pause and really evaluate whether you’re ready for love—or just longing for a distraction. In today’s Pep Talk Wednesday, Tyra opens up about what it means to finally step out of survival mode and into a season of softness. For so long, life was about hustling, stretching every dollar, and just making it through the day. But now? There's space. Space to breathe, space to rest, space to just be.This episode is for the woman who’s noticing that her nervous system is finally calm. She’s walking slower, cooking more, laughing deeper — and realizing that this, too, is a form of success. If you’ve ever felt guilty for slowing down or unsure if you’re “doing enough,” this is your reminder: You’re not thriving because life is perfect — you’re thriving because you’re finally safe.Pep Talk Challenge: Write down some things your younger-you couldn’t even imagine having time or capacity for. Indulge in one of those things this week.ResourcesAlexis’ ‘Feeling My Shelf’ Newsletter: https://www.feelingmyshelfnewsletter.com/ 50 side quests to do this year - https://we.tl/t-gmLxjREKx4 Listen to the For Life’s Rainy Day Playlist Wanna give therapy a try? This week’s Pep Talk is all about turning your space into a home — not just a place you crash. Tyra shares how decorating her apartment transformed the way she shows up for herself and how creating a space that reflects who you are can bring more peace, joy, and groundedness into your daily life. She’s breaking down why your space matters more than you might think — and how even the smallest touches can shift your energy. Plus, the weekly challenge will help you get started with one cozy corner. Let’s make room for joy — one vibe-y nook at a time.Challenge of the Week ✨ Pick one corner of your home — a nightstand, a shelf, your desk — and make it yours. Add something that feels like you: a candle, a framed photo, a plant, a quote you love. Don’t overthink it. Just set the intention that this spot is for joy.ResourcesAlexis’ ‘Feeling My Shelf’ Newsletter: https://www.feelingmyshelfnewsletter.com/ 50 side quests to do this year - https://we.tl/t-gmLxjREKx4 Listen to the For Life’s Rainy Day Playlist Wanna give therapy a try? In today’s episode, Tyra shares how she turned her apartment into a cozy little coffee shop — just because. No big milestone, no birthday, just vibes. She dives into how hosting has become her love language, why choosing joy is an intentional act, and the importance of surrounding yourself with people who celebrate you for simply being. If you’ve ever felt like joy had to be earned or reserved for “special occasions,” this episode is your permission slip to celebrate life as it is. Because sometimes the most meaningful parties are the ones with no reason at all. This week’s Affirmation is “ Making room for joy will allow it to find me.”3 Biggest Takeaways:Hosting is an Unofficial Love LanguageEven though it's not one of the “official” five, hosting blends all of them — acts of service, quality time, words of affirmation, and physical touch — into one meaningful experience that shows love through presence, intention, and ambiance.Joy Doesn’t Need a Reason — Just RoomYou don’t have to wait for a birthday or achievement to celebrate. Making space for joy in your everyday life is an act of resistance, peace, and self-love. Light the candles. Set the vibe. You’re allowed. The Right Community Will Match Your EnergyWhen you're surrounded by people who truly see and love you, celebration becomes natural. You won’t have to perform or plan around perfection — they’ll show up for your joy just as you show up for theirs.ResourcesAlexis’ ‘Feeling My Shelf’ Newsletter: https://www.feelingmyshelfnewsletter.com/ 50 side quests to do this year - https://we.tl/t-gmLxjREKx4 Listen to the For Life’s Rainy Day Playlist Wanna give therapy a try? This episode was very needed. This is my first return to podcasts after 3 years and this is the first episode that I've heard which are some things I've been dealing with but coming to terms with always putting God first and letting him lead. I have done so much for myself and others, and I deserve to relax, go at my own pace, and thank myself for getting as far as I've become already. thank you for this, and I am looking forward to listening to your previous episodes! 💐✨️
