As the world pauses to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., AfroPop Radio examines the juxtaposition of the fight for freedom and equality through some rarely heard speeches delivered by Dr. King. Here, he considers the African plight. He contrasts the Black American Struggle with those fighting for independence across the diaspora particularly after he attends the independence celebration of Ghana. He also expresses and suggests an action that Britain and the US should take as a protest against apartheid South Africa. Dr. King was definitely conscious about shat was happening on the Continent.Alsarah and the Nubatones - Ya Watan (Sudan)Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birth of a New Nation, April 7 1957Davido, Tiwa Savage, Sarkodie, Lola Rae - Africa Rising (Nigeria, Ghana,)Burna Boy - Another Story (Nigeria)Miriam Makeba - Soweto Blues (South Africa)Dr. Martin Luther King Jr - Speaks on South Africa (City Temple Hall, London, UK, on Dec. 7, 1964) Thandiswa Mazwai - Jikijela (South Africa)Femi Kuti - Politics Na Big business (Nigeria)Yemi Alade ft.
