Why Does Every Jew Pray that He Should Be Moshiach? This is the first of a series on the Maamar "V'nacha Aluv Ruach Hashem," said by the Lubavitcher Rebbe 50 years ago, on the last day of Pesach 5736, April 22, 1976. Presented by Rabbi YY Jacobson on Thursday, 8 Nissan, 5786, March 26, 2026. The class explores why every Jew peays that he should experience the consciousness that will be conferred on Moshiach, and the energy of the exiles of Edom and Yishmal. It also explores why Rabanu Gershom is called "the light of the exile," Meor Hagoleh," and the Kabbalistic explanation of the four exiles of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome, the final exile branching off into Christianity and Islam.View Source Sheets: https://portal.theyeshiva.net/api/source-sheets/9895

How Much Longer Will I Hide? The Splitting of the Sea and the Death of the Ego.This class, exploring the deeper meaning of passing through the sea after leaving Egypt, was presented by Rabbi YY Jacobson on Tuesday, 6 Nissan, 5786, March 24, 2026, Parshas Tzav, at The Barn @ 84 Viola Rd. in Montebello, NY. Why do we say "Dayanu" if G-d would have split the sea but not taken us through it? How would that help anyone? A profound explanation of living in two states of consciousness simultaneously, in the state of infinite oneness, and in the state of a fragmented ego, represented by the sea vs. the dryland. We tell the story of Raba bar bar Chana, who went to BBQ on an island, which turned out to be a whale, and turned over on him. Living in times when G-d is expediting consciousness, many of us are falling apart. It is time to let go! Just let it all go.  As the sea splits in our lives, and we experience ego-death, some of us come to life; some of us perish. The death of the Egyptians by the sea came from the very experience that saved the Jews. When oneness is revealed, some parts of us live; others wither away. View Source Sheets: https://portal.theyeshiva.net/api/source-sheets/9887

What Our Boys Need Most Today; Learning How to Deal with Our SmallnessAt the Melava Malka of Lubavitch Mesivta Chicago, Motzaei Shabbos Terumah, 4 Adar, 5786, February 21, 2026, Rabbi YY Jacobson discussed the four foundations of a truly successful Yeshiva. He explored the power of deep emotional connection, and shared the last words he heard from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, one day before his stroke, during the last time he distributed dollars for charity.  The lecture, following a Shabbos of fathers and sons in the Mesivta, also addressed the deeper, spiritual meaning of Rabah "slaughtering" Reb Zeira at a Purim feast and the lesson to all the students.  The lecture began with a story about a Jew who was drunk all Adar and his justification for it. It continued to tell the story of "Es Eun Bentch," the delicatessen created by Reb Chaim Boruch Halberstam, the father of Rabbi Sholom Ber Halberstam, principal of Chicago Mesivta. It explored the differences between Noach and Abraham and told the story of Reb Chatshe Feigin, allowing all the yeshiva students to hear a Maamar by the Rebbe Reyatz, explaining how all the students are beloved and cherished.
