When it comes to gaming, I really don’t know much. Like, my experience is pretty limited to Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros and maybe a few other older games. Apart from that, I got the smallest taste of Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man 2 and completely fell in love. Step into a galaxy far, far away as we discuss the character of Finn from the Star Wars sequel films. We discuss what drew us to Finn, his representation as a person of colour, and the impact of his journey as a former stormtrooper. “Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now it's here. Or should I say, I am”  Okay okay, I know Thanos said that but I mean…it feels a little right.  Kang is…a menace to say the least but who is he really? What are his motivations? His powers? What is his purpose in Marvel?    In this episode, Michael joins me to break down who Kang is - taking a look at him in the comics and seeing how those characteristics and traits may translate into the MCU. Because, as I mention in the episode…he’s coming in HOT. Kang is about to play a pivotal role in the MCU, especially leading up to Kang Dynasty. So I love musicals and I LOVE The Princess Diaries, so I had this thought one day - what if that movie was turned into a musical? Now, this idea truly flourished while talking with Marissa when I was beginning to plan her episode. Luckily, she was on board with the potential of a Princess Diaries musical. And so this episode was born!  Before getting into it all, I had to take a moment to dig into Marissa's love for musicals and also, what makes a musical good. Further, what makes an excellent musical adaption of a movie? Because this is tough, it's not an easy feat! Now lately there's been some people going around talking about how Miles isn't Spider-Man...and frankly?? that is ridiculous. Welcome to the first episode of 2023! Phase Five begins this year and what a great way to start off the new season by discussing what’s to come! My friend Jay joins me for this episode to chat all about what's to come in this new phase. We touch on a few elements of Phase Four since it just ended and how it may impact the Multiverse Saga moving forward. Now Phase Five is going to be exciting, I mean we're going to get a true taste of Kang the Conqueror! We got a lot of great new characters during Phase Four who will be returning and it's going to be amazing to watch them grow throughout the MCU. As well, we have some characters who are really coming into their role as a hero and it's going to be amazing to watch them flourish (*cough* Captain America *cough*).
