Happy mammY

Would you be interested in talking about the best/worst feeling in the world? I just think it would be interesting and I think it may lead to learning many new words.

hi Lindsay and Michelle. I'm Israel from Brazil. I'm a huge fan of your podcast and of you guys! I've been listening to it for about a year or so. and it's not only helped me with my listening comprehension skills, but also with my confidence when it comes to speaking English. I've got a question. I always hear the expression "fair enough", and I know what it means (to acknowledge what someone else is saying), but I'm not so sure about when or how to use it. Could you do an episode showing different situations when we could use this expression? xoxo

Israel De Oliveira It is a phrase built from "Fair"; meaning good/just (as in justice), and "Enough" meaning sufficient. Meaning that what was said is a " Good and sufficient" statement

Exactly! Just like we say "that sounds good" and not "that sounds well". Just like sound/smell/look/seem, the verb to be is also a linking verb. And according to the grammar in use by Cambridge, we must use adjectives after linking verbs.

I've recently came to Canada to study, and I always think that the best way to speak fluently in English is to have a native girl friend, while it is not easy for me since I'm not confident enough to speak in Eng. what do you think?!?!
