Jenny Oaks Baker: The Wisdom in God's Plan For Our Lives

Jenny Oaks Baker began playing the violin before elementary school and she has not stopped since. Her violin has taken her all around the world and given her opportunities she’d never dreamed of. But there have also been opportunities she has sought that have never come to fruition and other opportunities she didn’t even know to seek that have made her life much richer than it would have been otherwise. On this week’s episode, Jenny shares her witness that sometimes the Lord’s plans are much better than the plans we have for ourselves.  2:59- The Role of Parents 10:10- Music Education 11:41- Trusting the Lord 16:40- Choices as a Young Mom 27:36- Hard Work and Dreams 30:30- Performances Behind the Scenes 37:32- Identity and Talents 41:55- What Does It Mean To Be All In the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Tyler Johnson: Belief—A Wager Worth Making

As a former Young Single Adult ward bishop and institute teacher, Tyler Johnson has worked with many young adults who have questions and concerns regarding their faith and/or their belief in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Savannah Wooden was in high school when, after years of struggling with seizures, she made the difficult decision to have brain surgery that, if successful, would cure her seizures. The surgery was, by that measure, very successful, but in the years since, Savannah has struggled with the byproducts of the surgery. Even then, she can see that the power of the priesthood invited healing into her life that otherwise may not have been possible. 2:13- The First Seizure 4:47- A Possible Surgical Cure 6:11- A Calculated Risk 7:44- Unrecognizable Surroundings 11:34- A Priesthood Blessing 14:03- Aftermath of the Surgery 16:43- Faith Journey 24:35- Memorization After Memory Loss 27:36- “Minor Challenges I Can Handle” 34:00- What Does It Mean To Be All In the Gospel of Jesus Christ? “Sometimes God doesn’t remove your problems, He makes a way through them.” —Savannah Wooden See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Kyle S. McKay: A Witness of a Living Christ and an Ongoing Restoration

If the walls of the Kirtland Temple could speak, they would tell you what they saw that day—April 3, 1836—when the Living Christ appeared to the Prophet Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. Still, the temple stands as a witness of the reality of the Resurrection that we celebrate at Easter. Perhaps it is only fitting that the Kirtland Temple reopened under the Church’s ownership this week. On this week’s episode, Elder Kyle S. McKay shares how history and an understanding of our heritage strengthens our own faith. 2:05- A Cowboy at Heart 4:24- Elder Marlin K. This episode was great. I love country music and I was so glad to hear that there are people in the industry from my faith. I knew only about She'daisy, who have faded out and moved on with families. I wish my kids could attend Brother Martin's Seminary class. The youth (and everyone else) of this world need more positive lyrics in their music.

Listening to these claims after the post pandemic facts of have emerged making so much of them just propaganda and skewed if not profit driven good enough for profit science is frustrating and sad. I wish the church hadn't been so coercive and belittling to those who received the inspiration and doctor advised counsel to not accept these shots. Too many untimely deaths and adverse reactions causing severe and often permanent damage to previously healthy people. This was a lab created super virus paid for by our own government. Unbelievably sad.
