Mike Maughan was serving in a YSA bishopric when he heard Blake Roney, now the president of the Provo City Center Temple say, "We are not the gatekeepers, we are the welcoming committee." That single statement changed the way Mike has lived in the years since and it changed the culture of the YSA ward in which he was serving. On this week's episode, Mike discusses the transformative nature of that experience. 2:26- Freed From the Burden of Judgment 7:53- Take Them By the Hand 18:52- Application 26:01- Changing the Tune, Not the Lyrics 31:38- Never Burn a Bridge and Always Be Kind 35:37- The Power of Experience 44:08- Committing Completely 51:52- What Does It Mean To Be All In the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Throughout history and across religious traditions, countless individuals have been honored for their holiness and devotion. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we have this word in the name of our church—it is what we purport to be. But do we fully understand what that entails? The world undoubtedly moves at a faster pace today than it did during any previous period of Church history but historian Rachel Cope is a believer that, in all generations, God often aids our conversion by inviting us (and sometimes forcing us) to slow down. This episode was great. I love country music and I was so glad to hear that there are people in the industry from my faith. I knew only about She'daisy, who have faded out and moved on with families. I wish my kids could attend Brother Martin's Seminary class. The youth (and everyone else) of this world need more positive lyrics in their music.

Listening to these claims after the post pandemic facts of have emerged making so much of them just propaganda and skewed if not profit driven good enough for profit science is frustrating and sad. I wish the church hadn't been so coercive and belittling to those who received the inspiration and doctor advised counsel to not accept these shots. Too many untimely deaths and adverse reactions causing severe and often permanent damage to previously healthy people. This was a lab created super virus paid for by our own government. Unbelievably sad.
