(EP. 39) Beyond The Mask
What's up, family!
Today, we are discussing the concept of going beyond the mask.
A mask is defined as a covering for all or part of the face, worn as a disguise, or to amuse or frighten others.
We all wear them, don't we?
Behind every mask lies a lot of stories - tales of pain, struggles, failures and triumphs. Sometimes, we were this mask intentionally, and other times, innocently. Yet, somehow we all don masks to conceal our true selves from the world. But what lies beneath? What secrets do we keep hidden, even from ourselves? What is behind our masks? What truths do you conceal, and what lies are waiting to be revealed?
It's quite the challenge because sometimes we try to label who we are. And the most terrifying part is that society often celebrates mask wearers and not the vulnerable. Akintunde and Ade lead us through several conversations exploring the beauty in unveiling our masks and celebrating our vulnerability.

All failures in life can be traced back to dishonour; dishonour to God, men, or principles. Honour is the discerning, celebrating, and rewarding of uniqueness, usefulness, and excellence. Dishonour is the trivialization of value and relevance. To take for granted is to regard lightly. A question is a seed for an answer. The seed of honour is the seed of access. Dishonour sows the seed of closed doors. Honour is also the willingness to place value. Honour is a choice, not a gift. Come with us to learn the principles of honour.
Being kind to yourself and others is the best gift you can give yourself during this season. Be compassionate, because everyone you encounter is fighting a struggle you don't understand. Whether you are moving on with concentrated purpose, feeling overwhelmed with so much of the unknown, resting soundly in your trust, dealing with anxiety, or all of the above, I have an encouraging word for you today that will elevate your heart.

What do we do when God says something that goes against a deeply held cultural value? Teenagers have always had to think about this question, and it is still a hard one for them today. Do you want a nicer house, car, or other belongings than your neighbours? Pride can manifest itself in a variety of unpleasant ways, including conceit, self-righteousness, boasting, selfish ambition, showing off, vanity, and impatience. These can be replaced with humility. Learn how to overcome pride in all of its forms using time-tested insights!
Earth Day is an excellent opportunity to inspire teens to make a positive difference for our planet. We're told to use reusable water bottles instead of single-use plastic bottles, to participate in community beach clean-ups, to buy green and sustainable household goods, and to use reusable bags. But what if, as a teenager, you have no control over any of this? Worse, if you still live at home, your parents may not share your enthusiasm for green living. Fortunately, you still have options for convincing them to change their ways. You might think that as a teen, you can't help much, but you'd be wrong.
Most adults struggle with effective time management. Teenagers are no exception. Many demands splinter their timeāacademic, social, sports, volunteer hours, and family responsibilities. So, how do we teach teens to set priorities and manage their time effectively when it comes to time management? In this podcast, we'll talk about time management and practical time management techniques that teens can use to succeed in our fast-paced, technology-driven society.
