On this week's episode of All the Words Podcast, Nikki G. and Andon T. welcome Mike aka Bebe a program assistant, bartender, drag queen and damn good entertainer. Mike brings the energy, positivity and definitely elevates the mood in this two-part episode. Mike has been in theatre for over 30 years, and has performed in drag as Bebe for 14 years. He is the owner of Tisaway, his beloved thoroughbred horse, and works serving the LGBTQ community. His parents have been involved in foster care for almost 40 years, adopting Mike when he was five weeks old and have helped over 750 kids. Mike has also played Blanche Devereaux in Buffalo's Alleyway Theatre's presentation of The Golden Girls: The Lost Episodes. He is a baritone, dancer, track and field star from back in the day, All-County in which he scored a perfect score in sight reading, competed in the Junior Olympics and still holds records at his old alma mater. He is active in Buffalo's theatre scene and will soon be performing in a Bewitched parody. Mike recommends always listening to music when you're getting ready to leave the house, and to be true to yourself.

On this week's episode of All the Words Podcast, Andon T. and Nikki G. discuss a myriad of things, as per usual. Nikki had a day last week where she cried, she bleed, she danced and she puked. She also became a plant mom...again. This time it was unexpected. We tease some upcoming guests including someone who helped propel Joe Biden to presidential victory, and a racecar driver. Vroom vroom, baby. Our main topic of conversation was why smart people believe in conspiracy theories, which consisted of speaking about two articles in Psychology Today. The influence of social media is fueling conspiracy theories and gaining in popularity mainstream, which is a problem. The problem started in the 19th century when we as a society switched over from print to pictures in how we obtain the news. The conspiracy theories we discussed included Hillary Clinton's Pizza Gate, and 5G contributing to the spread of COVID. We discussed the movies Hard Rain with Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman and Zoolander. Nikki recommends Emily in Paris for a lighthearted show. 

Allie, a traveling nurse, rugby player, adventurer, and mountain climber based out of Arizona, joined Andon T. and Nikki G. on this week's episode of All the Words Podcast.We learn answers surrounding why lime green isn't Allie's favorite color anymore. We also learn about Allie's time in Brooklyn as a nurse during COVID; types of climbers and the best place to mountain climb. Ally's cat, Billi, also made an appearance during the pod. Nikki G. and Andon T. talk with Raynard Lozano, co-owner of Curbside Kitchen, a Filipino-American fusion food truck in the San Francisco Bay area. It has been six years since the last time we have hung out with Raynard in person and during that time him and his brother, Russ, have made their dreams come true, and involved the entire family in the process. Raynard recommends the Curbside Burger, which he eats at least twice a week, and Mom's Lumpia, Filipino-style egg rolls, which Mrs. Lozano makes for the food truck. They are currently set up at Armistice Brewing Company Wednesday through Sunday. It was interesting to learn how the food truck came to be, what work went into it and still goes into it, and that it is a family affair. On this week's episode, Nikki G. and Andon T. have special guest Kelly, who is working on her PhD. in organizational psychology in Southern California. She was raised in South Africa, moved to Buffalo, NY at 17 years old, and decided to continue her education in a climate much like South Africa - Southern California. Kelly also discusses her obsession with dogs, celebrity sightings,  and what she misses most about Buffalo.

Which brings discussion on what other movies Nikki should add to her list to watch during COVID. We talk Mars, Eddie Van Halen, Nikki's trip to the New England states, and being #basicAF. On this week's episode of All the Words Podcast with Nikki G. and Andon T., you'll get the inside scoop from a U.S. Capitol Police Officer, Ryan. Ryan shuffled out of Buffalo to Washington, D.C. We discussed what the process is like to get to be a US Capitol Police Officer, what it was like while Ruth Bader Ginsberg lay in state in the Capitol Building. We talk nomination hearings, vibes of Washington, and that making acquaintances in DC is easy, but making friends is hard. Ryan also talks about the gentrification issues and lack of affordable housing. We learn that most of the work within Congress happens in steakhouses and bars, not inside the actual Capitol Building. Deals are made in the streets, not in the halls. You can get the inside scoop when touring D.C. by asking a Capitol Police Officer or member of the secret service. They will also talk to you. Ryan also discusses how you can help impact bills being passed through interest in special committees. We also talk The Golden Girls, European Soccer, Tim Horton's, and guess which Senator Ryan once ran into, all on this week's episode. His research engages the rich cultural tradition of African-Americans, including an MA thesis centering on Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and his developing dissertation on  the works of James Baldwin, their relevance, and significance to contemporary society. In the first part, we discuss James Baldwin, athlete activism, the Black Lives Matter movement, the history of black people and the police, politics, and social issues. James' recommendations: I Am Not Your Negro, Harriet, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander.
