THE SOLO Confidence is so key. Yes, we’ve all heard it before, but some things are cliché for a reason. K + L each offer three tried-and-true tips for being more confident, all born from their personal experiences. But remember — confidence is always going to be something personal to you. It doesn’t have to look the same as someone else, and it doesn’t even have to look like sunshine and rainbows. Confidence is something you work on getting closer to, and you never quite get there fully, but it’s so worth working towards all the same.   We also talk about: Working towards confidence Facing hard things Finding quiet to hear our own voices Channeled writing Appreciating your body Engaging in self-care Looking back on your progress   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: Check out the lineup for upcoming workshops in our New Paradigm Digital Series: almost30podcast.com/new-paradigm Check out our latest workbooks and downloadables: shopalmost30.com   Sponsors: Powerbabe Mastermind | Powerbabe Mastermind applications are open now and close May 25th! THE SOLO K + L have been wanting to connect with the community two-on-one for a while and are so excited to finally share the first of many conversations in their new series, “Community Call”! We’ve been wanting to hear from YOU - Almost 30 nation - and how you’ve been impacted by the show, taken the messages shared by guests or other members of the community, and have made serious, positive changes in your life. Joining them this week is Emily Feikls, who first discovered the podcast when she was 18 and struggling with finding like-minded friends in her rural town. At the time, Emily felt like an outsider, like she didn’t belong to any community — but she felt an instant connection to #ALMOST30NATION as soon as she found it. She then took small steps to take control of her life and live in her truth - including attending last year’s retreat and starting her very own podcast and community. Emily is an inspiration, modeling for all of us how you can alchemize pain + grief into a beautiful life that you love.   We also talk about: How an 18-year old gets into Almost 30 Feeling like an outsider in your geographical community Finding your voice Leaving your comfort zone Feeling support within an online community   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Love: Acuity is an incredible way to streamline your schedule. THE INTERVIEW Dr. Laurie Santos teaches a course at Yale called Psychology on the Good Life that was inspired by her experience with her college students and their depression. She took a microscope to happiness, breaking down the why and how so that she could create science-based, tactical strategies for staying happy. Dr. Santos makes it so easy to understand the value of what people usually see as “fluff.” We talk about how to honor those who are struggling (while still maintaining our own sovereignty and happiness), the importance of a wealth of time versus money, and how meditation is  a happiness cheat code.   We also talk about: Adopting new social norms Why we crave social connection The hard part of happiness The causal effects of happiness The correlation between income and happiness level The importance of attitude, mindset, and behavior Time over money What we put in our body and how that affects our happiness Meditation as a happiness panacea   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: Instagram: instagram.com/santoslaurie Twitter: twitter.com/lauriesantos The Happiness Lab Podcast: happinesslab.fm Enroll for FREE in Dr. Santos’ course: The Science of Well-Being Check out the lineup for upcoming workshops in our New Paradigm Digital Series: almost30podcast.com/new-paradigm Looking for some Inner Peace in this uncertain time? THE SOLO Trust is so, so important in any healthy relationship — that’s obvious, right? It shouldn’t be any different when it comes to ourselves. Trusting yourself and the way you live your life is transformational. We all reach a moment where it’s time to break up with this expectation — whether from our parents or someone else — of how our life was supposed to go and to trust ourselves to live life the way we want. Lindsey shares her experience making the transition from not trusting herself to a more consistent and confident level of trust and the three practices she follows to help build that self trust every day.   We also talk about: The experiences that damaged Lindsey’s self trust What trusting yourself (or not) looks like The ways you can strengthen your trust What happens when you trust yourself   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: This week we’re teaming up with millennial money expert Nicole Lapin to host a workshop called “Money Management in Times of Crisis.” Join us and build wealth health! https://www.universe.com/managingmoneywithnicolelapin Check out the lineup for upcoming workshops in our New Paradigm Digital Series: http://almost30podcast.com/new-paradigm Looking for some Inner Peace in this uncertain time? THE INTERVIEW Ramit Sethi’s book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, is an absolute game-changer in the finance world. He is charismatic, grounded, and relatable — not to mention one of the most progressive voices in the financial literacy and wellness space. He does not sugar coat things, and when it comes to finances and getting really good at managing them, you have to be real about it. He infamously pushes back against the tired advice of “cutting out lattes” in order to save money. Instead, Ramit focuses on indulging in the things you actually care about and noticing when you spend money on things you don’t really care about.   We also talk about: How to get over making excuses when it comes to finances The connection between human behavior and finance Getting your finances together in your 20’s Creating money rules around “yes” instead of “no” Stop worrying about things you shouldn’t How your spending changes as you grow Saving can make you feel free Making real money through investing Writing a prenup Why buying a house isn’t always better than renting   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: Learn more: iwillteachyoutoberich.com Earnable: iwillteachyoutoberich.com/earn Read I Will Teach You To Be Rich Instagram: @ramit Twitter: @ramit We are so excited for our New Paradigm Digital Series! THE SOLO Instagram loves to kindly remind us of photos we’ve taken in the past, which can be great! But it can also invite us to criticize and compare ourselves. When this happened to Krista, what she noticed so clearly was the ways in which her body has changed over the past few years — namely, weight gain. A few months ago, Krista was in New York City reflecting on the habits and mentalities around her body and how she has shifted away from the behaviors that kept her at the lowest weight she’s ever been. She has been learning how to live with her new body and wanted to share how she deals with body image issues, how her relationship with her body has changed over time, and some tips and resources regarding health and diet.   We also talk about: How being okay with your body is an act of defiance Mindset is the problem, not body The energy we waste worrying about our bodies Motivating yourself to do what you know is healthy Answering your questions about body acceptance Not letting the patriarchy win   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: We are so excited for our New Paradigm Digital Series! THE INTERVIEW Debra Silverman is on to give us a much-needed astrological update on what’s currently happening in the world. She shares what was written in the stars when the virus came and things started to shift, when it looks like we’re going to get out of it, what every sign needs to be doing during this time, what transitions in astrology we need to be aware of over the coming year, and what the new normal will look like on the other side of this. (Don’t worry too much. There’s opportunity there.) We close the episode out with a beautiful prayer, a mic-drop moment that we hope will help you open up to the power of prayer and meditation as you move forward through this crisis.   We also talk about: What the stars are telling us is coming Moving into the Age of Aquarius How the different signs need to react to this Maintaining relationships during this time Being in service of others Leaning into your personal gifts   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: Free Gift: https://debrasilvermanastrology.com/freepodcastgift Debra's site: http://debrasilvermanastrology.com/ The Star Community: https://thestarcommunity.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/debrasilvermanastrology/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/debrasilverman_astrology YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/silvermanastrology   Sponsors: Beetelite | LiveHuman.com/almost30 and get 20% off your first purchase Perfect Keto | Go to www.perfectketo.com/almost30 to use code ALMOST30 to Buy 1 Get 1 40% off + Free Shipping. When she realized that changing her diet improved her mood, her eczema, her weight, and her happiness, she had to share that life-changing info with others. THE INTERVIEW Jen Gotch joined us just over a year ago for a really important conversation about mental health, figuring yourself out, and self-care. Jen is a huge expander for a lot of us in Almost 30 Nation — Krista and Lindsey included! — so we had to have her back for round two to discuss her powerful new book. The Upside of Being Down is an honest account of Jen’s mental health struggles and how that long journey, with all its ups and downs, led to her greatest successes in work and life. She is so inspiring and unapologetic about her life + gives a fresh take on what it’s like being a constant internal battle. We dive deep into what it’s like to push yourself in your career without sacrificing self-care, opening yourself up to receiving praise, and the value of learning to quit things just to prove to yourself that you can.   We also talk about: Coming back to compassion Not changing yourself for others Opening up + being able to receive Self-care, self-love, + self-help Being able to separate yourself from negative thoughts Coping with emotional eating Changing your relationship with alcohol   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: Shop ban.do: bando.com Instagram: @jengotch The Upside of Being Down: How Mental Health Struggles Led to My Greatest Successes in Work and Life by Jen Gotch   Sponsors: Podcast Pro | Visit www.yourpodcastpro.com for courses that will take you step-by-step through the process of starting your own podcast. Almost30 has changed my life. These girls are an amazing inspiration to me. I have listened from day one and I still look forward to every Tueday and Thursday for the new episodes. I take away something valuable every single guest. Their guests have inspired me to put myself back together, love the woman I am and start pursuing my dreams. Thank you for helping me find myself again. Truly.

I love these girls and their talk with their guests! My only qualm is that the interviews are much much much more about the guests and their careers than what the title claims the episode is going to be about... which is a major minus from me and something lots of podcasts seem to do, but this podcast is still worth listening to because they are hilarious!
