Explanation about why we're taking a short hiatus. Back soon, m'dolls!
RERUN - There's been a LOT of working and momming going on, so we dug a fun one out from our archives. Enjoy this rerun of Episode 23!!!
The one where you learn Gina's elvish secret.
And she turns red. You can't see it, but pure red, people! But mostly, this episode is less about shaming Gina and more about developing friendships when you're a bit longer in the tooth. Our special guest star and new friend Alice Agnello of the fabulous "Kids Are Grown, Now What?" podcast joins us to discuss what to do when you look around and discover, making new friendships isn't always easy. As Jill points out, there are apps for that, but still...
While the name of this episode is in honor of the iconic show about female friendships Golden Girls, the drink is in honor of another iconic show about female friendships - Sex and the City. Join us for cosmos, m'dolls!
If you would like to have a cosmopolitan, you can find the recipe at AlwaysNeverRight.com

There is so much crazy news out there that, as Gillian says, if you had a bingo card with riots, murder hornets, global pandemics, continental-wide wildfires, locust swarms, and earthquakes, uh, congrats, you win? So, this week, we bring you good news stories! Good things about humanity, good health news, and great tales of good hooch!
Our drink for this episode? A sunshiny-happiness Tequila Sunrise Mimosa! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

So, Gina likes to comb through Reddit for fun stuff. Her version of fun, anyhow. This week, she shares the fun with Jill, and our listeners. She chose several stories from “Am I the Karen” and “Am I the ...” (well, you read the episode title) subreddits, and we answer those questions!
So sit back and enjoy a Salty Dog with us, while we get a bit salty ourselves! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

You ever been out shopping, made polite conversation (“Hi, how are you?” “Fine, you?”), and had the floodgates open? Not uncommon, especially for some folks. Including T. Seriously, he’s the king of overshare receipt. Gina thinks it’s the eyebrow, but Jill insists that, now that she’s personally witnessed it, he’s truly not inviting it. So he’s guesting tonight to share his experiences.
Tonight’s drink? Kentucky Mule, with some slight, syrupy variations! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

We’re living in an odd time right now. For those working from home, we have a pro at that - Jill - to offer up some great advice on how to keep your home life and work life straight and sane. Plus, we Gina continuing to wear overalls despite all advice to the contrary.

So friend of the podcast Rexy is recently divorced, and friends of the podcast Rebecca and Tim Mullins have a podcast called “Sexual Blueprint,” and Jill and Gina saw an amazing opportunity here! And lordy, we weren’t wrong! We’re all somewhat scarred now, but dude, what an adventure! We highly advise drinking before rather than during this one.
Tonight’s drink (cue soft-core saxophone) - Sexual Chocolate. Ooooooooooh yeeeaaaahhhhh! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

So really, OOPS! Gina does the episodes and uploads and has no idea WTF happened here. Files somehow got corrupted between editing and upload. She’s gonna work to fix it, though, by golly!
Go fix yourself the drink of your choice while this gets sorted. Take care, m’dolls!
So, there are words and phrases out there that can make a person want to literally chew through a steel cable. Like, actually do something drastic rather than just spout hyperbole. Language isn’t hard, people! I mean, it’s not rocket surgery!
Tonight’s amazing drink, one of Jill’s new alll-time-favorites ... the luscious (like Blanche herself) Devereaux! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

We’ve all made them, and we (well, mostly) all regret them. Tonight, we talk fashion mistakes. Sometimes it’s being misled into bad hair, sometimes it’s not making a purchase and regretting it later, sometimes it’s when your spouse sews the flies shut on your overalls. But what can you do about it? OWN IT!
Tonight’s nom-tastic, definitely not a mistake drink juice? A grapefruit elderflower cocktail. Try it. You’ll thank us! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

You ever listen to a really great podcast and wonder, “oooh, how did they DO that?” If so, sorry to disappoint you, but we’re only going to talk about how we do ours. But we think it’s fun!
We think it’s especially fun to brainstorm podcast ideas while drinking a really awesome drink, a Blackberry bourbon sour! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

We’ve seen, and been in, a lot of weddings. We have stories to tell. Judgey stories mostly, but those are the most fun, aren’t they? So sit back and listen while we talk about whale songs, Vegas, literal bats in literal belfries, how to prank your loved ones on the most important day of your life, and ... Aunt Betty (cue creepy music).
Our drink this week? The Old Fashioned!. You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

Since we went off the rails - in an admittedly very fun way - last week, we’re revisiting this week the topic of letting others live rent-free in your head. You realize you are the villain in someone else’s story, right? It’s inevitable. But how do you deal with it? Are you able to make peace with that? Let’s discuss!
Our drink this week? The Suffering Bastard. You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

Sexy Rexy joins us again this week to talk about not giving people rent-free space in your head. Although admittedly, Gina ends up being more of a object lesson than an example. And what’s a cocktrix? Gotta listen to find out (it’s not dirty - okay, it involves cocktails, because of course it does).
Our drink this week? Lemon drop martinis. NOM! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

It’s a Valentine’s Day special!!! This week, Jill and Gina are joined by their friends Rebecca and Tim Mullins of the Sexual Blueprint podcast. Things go off the rails quickly and hilariously, as you’d expect when mixing four rowdy adults with a taboo topic and copious amounts of rum. Come and listen to the mischief, but don’t tell your Mom, she likely wouldn’t approve.
Our drink this week? Well duh, Sex on the Beach of course! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

So, it’s 2020. We don’t want the whole year to be about hindsight. Only 1/3 of it. So with that 1/3 in mind, what are you going to keep doing that you’ve been doing all along? And stop doing? And start doing for that matter?
One thing we’ll do? Keep drinking, bwahaha! This week, we have a Dragon’s Breath. Because we’ve discovered smoked cocktails, and yum! You can find the recipe at www.alwaysneverright.com.

The one where we take a short sabbatical.
Cause it’s the holidays, ya know. And things get busy. But we’ll be back February-ish with new episodes! As we can, we’ll record some shorts for ya, so you don’t forget us altogether, though! Love you all, m’dolls, and happy holidays!
No official drink this week! Grab the liquid happy of your choice and listen in! We hope you enjoy!

The one where we do something completely different.
You've heard us talk about Mullins Media a/k/a Tim - You know the creator of, Hillbilly Horror House, And Beyond, and now co-host of Sexual Blueprint officially hosted by Mrs. Mullins a/k/a Rebecca a/k/a she who can seriously make Tim blush. Well, we've done some voicework on some of Mullins Media's scripted podcasts, and Tim Mullins has kindly scripted and put together an episode of fun just for us and our listeners! Cause he and Rebecca are all kinda nice like that. :-)
Which is good, because the week really got away from Gina, and her schedule blew up our recording schedule, so serious, thank you, Tim!!!!

The one where we bust urban legends AND channel Barney Stinson, because we’re multi-taskers. In other words, we do our best to debunk some common misconceptions. Because it’s our societal duty to be judgey spoilsports!
Oh not really - MYTH BUSTED. It’s actually our societal duty to drink and have fun, so obviously that’s our approach to this whole topic. With a few subject digressions along the way, of course.
Tonight's drink? The LEGEND! Because of course! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one where Gina tries REALLY hard not to be an object lesson.
The holidays can be tough. We’ve talked before about how to survive from the social aspect. Now we talk about how to survive them from the “don’t overdo it” aspect. Because you can’t pour from an empty glass. And God forbid our glasses be empty, dammit!
Tonight's drink? Harmony, because that’s our goal this holiday season, isn’t it? Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one where we discuss our maladies, surgeries, and various and sundry old people things. Oh, and how to be a successful patient.
So yeah, part of being Gen X means we’re not getting any younger. And with age comes ... all kinds of medical stuff. The older you get, the more important it is to actually be a GOOD patient (i.e., Jill) rather than a bad and/or questionable one (i.e., Gina). While Jill is a good example, Gina is an object lesson. But so long as you learn it’s all good!
Tonight's drink? Appropriately enough, the Painkiller. Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The One Where We Do NOT Forgo the Cocktails.
The holidays are coming up, and you know what that means, right? It means loose pants, seasonal recipes, child cage matches, puppy kickers, and Aunt Betty IS gonna be a dick.
So yeah, despite what one advice article said, we will NOT be forgoing the cocktails, thankyouverymuch. We have some (hopefully) good advice for ya, though!
Tonight's drink? Jill created this week’s - Family Time!! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one where we talk about how financial reality really DOES bite for Gen X.
Really. From a financial perspective, we're between a rock (a dotcom bust, housing market crash, and a recession) and a hard place (aka, potentially another recession). So we're going to talk about that. Are you gonna get answers? No, haha, you know us by now! You'll just get Gina's unprofessional opinion about that potential next recession and some camaraderie in the finanial wastelands. But at least misery loves company? I guess? Maybe I need to re-listen to last week's episode about being blue...
Tonight's drink? The Millionaire Margarita, cause we love us some good irony! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one with Gillian and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
We all get a little down sometimes. That's human nature. Tonight, we talk a bit about what we do to try to get back up, and dose it with our usual inappropriate humor, self-awareness, and suprisingly little judginess.
Tonight's drink? Gina created a new one - the Dilly Dilly!! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one with all the ghouls!
Tonight we veer away from the standard frivolity and instead get into some creepy AF frivolity! Cause it's Halloween next week, so we gotta spooky it up! And by amazing coindence, it's episode 31 and Halloween's on the 31st and ... yeah, tenuous link.
Anyway, we not only tell ghost stories, but we get the ghost stories of our special guest stars, JERRY AND TRACY PAULLEY from Hillbilly Horror Stories!!!! (Picture Kermit arm flailing.)
Tonight's drink? The HELLFIRE, MWAHAHAHAHA! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one where we record with even more distance because Gina's on the road again.
Yup. Another work trip for Gina. Jill doesn't show up half way through this one, though. But that's okay. It gives us a chance to talk about how we've made the best of work travel, things we do that maybe will help you make the most of it. Because adulting is hard. And while work travel sounds all cool and sexy when you're younger, once middle age hits, it's just ... there. But your own bed isn't. Still ... there are things that can make it fun! Hang in there, we'll discuss 'em!
Tonight's drink? The sazerac! Why? Because it was in Gina's hotel bar and Jill had the ingredients at home. Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one with ALL the drinking.
We may have outdone ourselves. But we had a very cocktail-related Vegas adventure! We talk about the drinks we drank, the dranks we drank, the foot we ate, the food we threw away, and most importantly, the fun people we hung out with!
This week's drink is an Old Fashioned - Made with Blanton's, baby! Because we learned you can tell a lot about a bar by the bourbon is keeps on hand, and if it has Blanton's, you're golden. Pro tip - Lots of places in Vegas have Blanton's!

The one where we compare tattoos and piercings and RAWR!
We acknowledge things don't make you badasses, your actions do. But we like to think we have a healthy dose of both. So we talk about both as they relate to our badass selves, okay? Unleash your inner badass and have a cocktail with us!
This week, it's Moscow mules! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe and have a drink with us!

The one were we discuss who we cool choose to be our Ride or Die companions - besides the obvious.
Whether it’s Mr. Rogers or the Notorious RBG, some folks just HAVE to be a member of your posse, even if they never actually will be. But in a totally fun and hypothetical world, who would be in YOUR inner circle?
We could not in any way, shape, or form get our chosen drink to fit the theme, but that’s okay. It’s still yums and that’s what matters! Check out our website at alwaysneverright.com to get the recipe for the lovely Tiger Tanaka and have a drink with us!

The one where we all learn who’s on our zombie apocalypse team and how disaster can satisfy our deepest needs.
You also get to hear about Gina's tornado and when Jill met Patrick Swayze (he's awesome in real life, too).
Jill absolutely liveS for disaster movies. Even bad ones (not too bad though - that's more Gina's jam) can be bliss. Especially when they are of the “natural” disaster type, when the disaster is a natural disaster that is caused by man. A rogue electric storm causes a super charged tornado. Some sort of ozone hole causes ice to freeze people instantly. It's fun! And if Lou Diamond Phillips or a Baldwin is in it, count us in.
We in honor of ocean-based disaster films, or drink is the Shark Bite! If you would like to have a cocktail with us, you can find the recipe at AlwaysNeverRight.com

The one where you get to finally meet EVERYONE— almost. Jon the Brit isn't present, but that's okay. He woulda done a LOT of eyerolling, and probably ruined his vision.
Words fail me in describing this episode. Largely because it was so all over the place. We had a theme, but we derailed early and often. But it does all kinda tie back to the theme of weird stuff we've wondered? Kinda? Eh, let's go with it. We somehow shift from centaurs to Gonzo's chicken obsession to traumatizing Nina with mai tais and Disney Films, to Rexy traumatizing ALL of us with a wet Gene Hackman... You get the idea.
We revisit the Cherry Crush, because Jill wanted to see if would knock Gina on her ass again. It didn't, but it was far yummier when Jill made it!

The one where Jill runs from open doors.
So, it's obviously more nuanced than that. Someone was holding that door, but he was WAY up ahead, and ... well, listen, she tells it better.
In this episode, we discuss some of the expectations society has of girls and women. When actually, if all we really need is to be "strong and sparkly," then that's our perogative, right? Right!
What else is strong and sparkly? A French 75. It's also incrediby delicious!
If you would like to have a French 75 with us, you can find the recipe at AlwaysNeverRight.com

The one where you find out about the time value of money.
Maybe you're naturally cheap like Gina. If so, we need to talk. Sometimes cheap isn't always worth it. I mean, would you rather spend $60 a week for someone to mow your lawn or would you rather spur an asthma attack? Well, sometimes we have to prioritize lots of things along those lines. Bath butlers ... those may still be a step too far. But that's up to you, dolls.

The one where we realize we knew nothing 20+ years ago. Except for the things we did know.
Seriously, look at where you were at 21, and where you are now. Is it all you thought it'd be? Is it nothing you thought it'd be? Are you like Jill, and have always been sage? Are you like Gina, and cling so hard to optimism you go from sugary to saccharine?
Have a drink with us and time travel!
No recipe tonight, dear friends, becaus we got pre-made cocktails like we did back in the day, except this time, we don't feel bad throwing out stuff if it turns out to be junk. We got better taste over time, after all.

The one where we bring back some old friends and talk about movies.
And of course, as we do, talking about movies includes finding out Tom Hanks is every bit as sweet as you think he is, and Bill Murray makes an excellent wing man.
What did we drink to celebrate Episode 20? Well, since we're on the other end of 40, the drink is called "40 is the new 20." It's delish!

The one where you find out what we have noticed about some of our favorite things that are actually pretty troubling in retrospect.
What do you do when you look back at things you used to like and realize .... "EW????" Get some drinks and some friends and dissect it, that's what.
We start with Bond, Jerk Bond, and it just gets worse from there. On the upside, discussing the latent misogyny gives us a great excuse to try martinis! Jill goes for a truly Bonderific Vesper, while dirty girl Gina goes heavy on the olives.

The one where we tell you about the things that surprised …and continue to surprise us, about Adulting.
Seriously. We were not prepared. This is hard.
What makes hard things easier? Tequila, baby! So this week, we're downing margaritas while we ponder what we've gotten right, what we've gotten wrong, and what's just plain ol' slapstick gold.

The one where you hear more about how much we like to eat. And it’s a lot. I smell a recurring theme.
Find out where we've gotten some of the absolute best noms! With a few digressions along the way, of course.
So this week's cocktail should therefore be food-based, right? How about booze-soaked cherries? We're drinking Gillian's own creation, a Cherry Crush!

The one where you learn about all the jobs we’ve loved before. That got us in and out our door. We’re glad they came along, we dedicate this song (or episode), to all the jobs we’ve loved before.
And in some cases, those jobs got us out THEIR doors. But that's okay, because it just means there's something better out there. Truly! Sometimes your preconceived notions of "selling out" are NOT just that. Sometimes you're somewhere you were never meant to stay. Sometimes you were meant to have the experience or meet the people and then to move along. (Yes, eternal optimist Gina is writing this episode description.)
But what makes any job easier? Angel's Envy, our fave! This time in the form of a Kentucky Envy, and boy, does it live up to its name!

The one where we find out looking into Gina's brain is like looking gazing into the abyss.
So we find out what kind of books Jill and Gina have read and shared. Okay, that Jill has shared and Gina has, as of yet, failed to read because she's awful.
You might come out with some cool book recommendations from this episode. Or a list of books to avoid, cause you gotta be you and not everyone is into Scandanavian redemptive thrillers or Sci Fi female empowerment. You do you!
So what better drink for a topic like this than the Manuscript (which contains healthy doses of Angel's Envy)?

The one where you learn a little bit more about the way we think. And we're so very, very sorry about that.
We muse about what we would do in a fun little ice breaker game of "Would you rather," and learn that cussing is vitally important and chickens are the insects of the bird family. We also wonder why won't Sears won't exchange moms that don't work right. All while sipping this summer's hot yet cooling cocktail, the Aperol Spritz.

The one where you hear just how successfully we implement our parenting skills. Hint: not so well sometimes.
But that's kids, isn't it? And us. Okay it's us. We get into a variety of horrendously mortifying situations and broken bones. That sounds dark. It's really not. I promise. Anyway, we discuss our momming misses while knocking back A GIN DRINK JILL LIKES!!!! The Mama Rosa.

The one where you learn how Gina got drunk and got knocked up. Mai Tais were involved, and are this week's cocktail! Jill didn't even do that on purpose, it was just a happy accident (much like Gina herself).
It's also the one where we give excellent advice. Well, Jill gives you excellent advice (she's "Always," after all). Gina gives you advice she got from others that has worked out (cause, let's be real, she's "Never").

Because sometimes the best self care is getting away. Far away. Seriously, family vacations are amazing, but friendcations CANNOT be underestimated!
One of the trips we hope to take is to New Orleans. So we're having a drink created there - the Hurricane.

The one where you get to meet some of our circle, and find out a little more about just how deep our dork goes.
And the one where it finally dawns on Gina that no one likes gin. But too bad, it WILL be back! But for tonight, just enjoy a gin fizz. Despite what Jill says, it's possible.
And while not a gin fanatic, Gina does have some geeky fandoms. As does Jill. AND as do our special guests for this 10th episode spectacular, Rexy and Nina! And a cameo appearance by Nina's main man Benny. It's a geek-out party, y'all!

Gillian begged for a break from gin, so we are briefly switching to rum, because we both had some on hand. We WILL come back for more gin later, at least a couple more times, mostly because we're both still stuck with a bunch of gin (anyone need some Tanqueray?) and kind of want to find a gin cocktail that Jill don’t think is gross. We also have talked about our affinity for Mojitos before, and so we decided this would be an easy one to try.

The one where you find out why we think self-care is very important for everyone, but maybe especially women.
Long story short - Alone time is invaluable to parents. And Retta and Aziz Ansari were totally onto something when it came to self care.
If you'd like to share a cocktail with us while we chat, we're having an Aviation cocktail, and we learn Gillian still really, really hates gin, while Gina (gin's in her name, after all) feels guiltier and guiltier.
