We’re back with Season 2: Episode Three as we examine the 1997 debut album from the ever controversial Smashmouth, "Fush Yu Mang" AND we revel in the carnage that is Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka from ECW's One Night Stand 2005. These things were selected by The Fargo Strutter, Magnum TH. Band: Smashmouth Album: Fush Yu Mang Label: Interscope Listen on Youtube.   Match: Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka Promotion: ECW (WWE version) Pay Per View: One Night Stand 2005 Watch it here.   Next episode of American Trash, we'll be reviewing Album: Three Feet High and Rising Artist: De La Soul Match: Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat (Clash of Champions)
We’re back with Season 2: Episode Deuce as we discuss the sordid life of G.G. Allin, sordid stories from Manhattan, and the gorgeous and dulcet tones of Supertramp's classic 1979 album -- Breakfast in America. This album was selected by Ben. Band: Supertramp Album: Breakfast in America Label: A&M Records
We’re doing things a little differently as we launch season two of the podcast. In addition to our inane chattering about whatever is going on in the world, in an attempt to stay focused, each episode one of your stalwart on-air personalities will select an album for the whole group to listen to and discuss. The very first entry was selected by Chill Gordon Solie. Band: Surfbort Album: Friendship Music Label: Cult Records
We journeyed to Las Vegas so we could see Propagandhi, RVIVR, and Bad Cop/Bad Cop tear up the Hard Rock Hotel. And then we explored other corners of the city including Top Golf, Vesta Coffee, and everywhere else.
We're back to talk about new music, the addictively corrosive nature of professional sports in America (and elsewhere), how punk rock figures into it all, and some of the early details about the American Trash plan to invade Las Vegas for the big Propagandhi/Bad Cop Bad Cop/RVIVR show in November and how you, Shock Goggle!, might could win the fourth ticket to join us.
Ben goes to Albuquerque to hang out with Shock Goggle #1, Patrick Merten (AKA Three Goals) to talk punk rock, hip hop, and growing up all over the world, far away from touring bands.
Ben is joined by author (and former Home Depot commercial star!) Scott O'Connor to discuss his books, the publishing process, acting, Project MKULTRA, the Kennedy assassinations, and of course, professional wrestling. Books by Scott O'Connor: Among WolvesUntouchableHalf-World A Perfect Universe Online at www.scott-oconnor.com
We're here! But it's not with much. Chill Gordon Solie recaps the World Cup, we talk about what we're listening to and watching, and then there's a Gwen Stefani story as part of our new Celebrity Bump feature (that, let's be real, may only be a one time thing).
Magnum TH and Ben gather together to discuss rec league sports etiquette, our fascination with professional wrestling, and then go deep into the world of navigating the dumpster fire of the world in the 21st Century. Links to things mentioned in the podcast: Magnum's piece from his old website Hangtime Anika Pyle - "The Void"
Chill Gordon and Ben talk to photographer and musician PJ Sykes of the band Hoax Hunters.
Welcome to the first episode of season two...this is American Trash. It's been a busy hiatus, and there's a lot to get to. Chill Gordon Solie talks about his experience at last weekend's Misfits show in New Jersey (1:25), Magnum TH gives his take on the billion dollar deal between the WWE and Fox (28:50), the two hockey fans talk Stanley Cup predictions (58:00) and we've got recommendations for your entertainment including the podcast In the Dark (1:01:45).  Intro and outro music: "Open Net" by Triple Deke Find us online at amphetazine.com, Facebook, and Twitter. Be sure to leave reviews wherever you pick up your podcasts! We'll be back shortly with our next episode including an interview with musician/photographer PJ Sykes.
Chill Gordon Solie and Ben talk about seeing Jawbreaker at Brooklyn Steel. Other people getting discussed include: Smashmouth, Metallica, the Misfits, Robert Johnson, Nirvana, In Flames, and others! Also, Ben totally conflates the title of the Jawbreaker documentary ("Don't Break Down") with the name of the new Willy Vlautin book ("Don't Skip Out on Me"). No need to tell him he's a moron, he already knows. Let's relive our youth and relitigate the scene! Live from Manhattan, it's American Trash!
Book reviewer and all around good dude Benoit Lelievre joins Ben to discuss his favorite books of 2017 and what's got him excited for 2018. Authors we talk about (in alphabetical order): J. Radical departure from the normal topics as we discuss an article Magnum shared earlier in the week on Facebook. The Fermi Paradox If the Universe is so big that it contains numbers of stars that we can only slightly comprehend, there has to be more intelligent life somewhere. Right? Well if there is, how come we haven't met them? We tackle the subject, discuss God, and try to wrap our minds around the vastness of space. We're way out of our scientific league, but we're definitely enthusiastic to discuss it anyway. Things Mentioned in this Podcast: Night Siege (the book Bill mentions that details many UFO sightings including the one he saw). Triple Deke (Magnum's band and the music playing at the start of the show). Embrace Your Essence / Sarah Barlow (the Reiki healer Ben mentioned) The Shack on Broadway (the best place to get breakfast in Fargo).
Ben and Chill Gordon Solie talk with Todd Taylor of Razorcake. We discuss growing up punk, old punks, new music, and what it means to fight for what you believe in, and Todd's Best of 2017 list. *note* Audio is a little jacked up in this episode, but Todd's insights are so awesome you'll get over it. We'll have him on as a guest again next year. Right, Todd? From Razorcake's website: Razorcake provides consistent coverage of do-it-yourself punk culture that you won’t find anywhere else. We believe in positive, progressive, community-friendly DIY punk. We do our part. DIY punk culture is often misrepresented, misunderstood, and the target of corporate exploitation. Razorcake supports a legit community of punk music and culture as the only bona fide 501(c)(3) non-profit music magazine in America.
Sandy Powlik joins Ben to talk about her music, where ideas come from, the extraordinary story of Lola Parks, and explains what Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip mean to Canadians. Lola Parks on: Spotify Bandcamp Facebook Twitter Intro music: Lola Parks | Trouble with Me

Loser. King. Music - Behemoth | The Satanist Books - Nathan Hill | The Nix TV - Godless
Chill Gordon Solie and LeRoy Rochester invoke the Freebird Rule to do some dumpster diving in search of American Trash.  On today's episode we talk about the Rockefellers. The name is synonymous with wealth and it's quite possible to measure John D. Rockefeller's influence all the way through Keeping up with the Kardashians. But what are the origins of John D. Rockefeller's story and how did we find it in the dumpster? Listen to find out!
We're back! And we're here to talk about what favorite concerts, best live acts, what ruins a show, why are things so expensive, and were things really much better in the olden times. Also, whatever happened to Haley's Comet and is elementary school librarian, Mrs. Stoll, on it?  Bands discussed include: Iron Maiden Metallica Municipal Waste Bad Cop/Bad Cop Fugazi Joanna Newsom Pink Floyd Ratt Def Leppard
