In this bonus episode, we're not talking about a missing person. Instead, Ethan and Kona are sitting down to discuss how she got arrested in front of their house on June 11, 2025. What started off as an evening at home with family turned into her getting thrown into the back of a cop car, two court dates, and a formal complaint against a Loudoun County Sheriff's Deputy. You'll hear the whole story, including how the Sheriff's Office may be using a county statute in order to intimidate members of the community who have interactions with their deputies. This is a conversation that isn't in our normal format or subject matter, but we'll be back next week with a regularly scheduled episode.Subscribe to Day by Day: True Crime StoriesBuy the ebook! - And Then They Were Gone: True Stories of Those Who Went Missing and Never Came HomeSubmit a caseFind us everywhereGet episodes early and ad-free on PatreonMerch storeOur Sponsors:* Check out Acorns Early: https://acornsearly.com/ATTWG* Check out BetterHelp: https://betterhelp.com/ATTWG* Check out Bioma Health and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://gobioma.com/ATTWG* Check out Earth Breeze: https://earthbreeze.com/attwg* Check out Happy Mammoth and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://happymammoth.com* Check out Mood and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://mood.com* Check out PharmaNutra and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://pharmanutra-us.com* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.comAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
On August 7, 1988, Chicago sportswriter turned aspiring novelist Keith Reinhard locked up his antique shop and set out for the same mountain he’d spent the summer writing about. Keith told friends he’d be back by nightfall… but he never returned. What’s even more chilling, was that he wasn’t the first person to disappear from the small mining town of Silver Plume, Colorado. Just under a year earlier, a bookstore owner named Tom Young had similarly locked up his store and set off, only to seemingly vanish into thin air.Two vanishings, one old mining town. What dark secret connects them?If you have any information about the disappearance of Keith Reinhard, please contact the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Department at 303-679-2376.Subscribe to Day by Day: True Crime StoriesBuy the ebook!

“Go no farther. There’s nothing in this cave worth dying for.” Those were the words printed on the sign at the entrance of an underwater cave in Vortex Springs, Florida. Despite this plaintive warning and the drawing of the Grim Reaper that accompanied it, many divers of differing skill levels failed to heed these words in search of adventure. On August 18, 2010, 30-year-old Ben McDaniel was seen entering the water in his scuba gear. He was never seen on land again. What was at first assumed to be a tragic, yet straightforward diving accident came into question as days went by without Ben’s body being found. Did Ben get deeper into the cave than anyone could have imagined? Or did someone remove him from the water before searchers could find him? Some have questioned if Ben was ever in the water at all that night, or if something completely different happened on the ground. The only thing we know for sure is that after a decade, despite an extensive search, no one knows for sure what happened to Ben McDaniel.Anyone with information on the disappearance of Ben McDaniel is urged to call the Holmes County Sheriff's Office 850-547-3681.Subscribe to Day by Day: True Crime StoriesBuy the ebook!

The bus driver spotted her around 7:00 AM, but by the time he circled back to pick her up, she was gone. This event would be terrifying on its own, but eleven months earlier, Annett’s mother, Korrina Malinoski had also disappeared from the very same property, a sprawling 6,000-acre plantation tucked away in the swamps of Berkeley County.A note was later discovered that indicated Korrina had come back for Annete. But is that what really happened? Did Korrina take her daughter away to start a new life far away from the South Carolina Lowcountry? Or did something far darker happen to them both?Anyone with information is urged to contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit at 843-719-4465 .Subscribe to Day by Day: True Crime StoriesBuy the ebook! - And Then They Were Gone: True Stories of Those Who Went Missing and Never Came HomeSubmit a caseFind us everywhereGet episodes early and ad-free on PatreonMerch storeOur Sponsors:* Check out Acorns Early: https://acornsearly.com/ATTWG* Check out BetterHelp: https://betterhelp.com/ATTWG* Check out Bioma Health and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://gobioma.com/ATTWG* Check out Earth Breeze: https://earthbreeze.com/attwg* Check out Happy Mammoth and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://happymammoth.com* Check out Mood and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://mood.com* Check out PharmaNutra and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://pharmanutra-us.com* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code ATTWG for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.comAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

this case sounds similar to Arkansas's Rebecca Gould case, and in a way the Holly Bobo case. a lack of imagination in the true crime community is so annoying. like, there were neighbors; were any of them bad people? how secure was that abandoned house, with no utilities, kept? could anyone have been inside the house that did not belong there? why not burn her belongings while "destroying" evidence"?

I live about 30 miles from circle mt and this part of the country has nothing but farm fields and open land. you can see for hundreds of miles it seems like. It doesn't make sense where she went or how she disappeared because of this reason. Regardless it's a sad heartbreaking story!

have the others in the homeschooling group ever spoken about the case or the incident with the four year old?

gross to hear the host normalizing child neglect in the name of "the '80's", while claiming not wanting to make light of it. I was raised by neglectful parents in that era but they did not leave me alone at age four. it was not as widespread a practice then and was not considered okay. parents do not generally neglect their kids "for survival" either, but because they have an agenda that caring for children interferes with. the comparison with the mom charged during the job interview is unwarr

James sounds like someone having difficulty adjusting to psychiatric medication. the shaky voice, the 'lack of feelings and emotions', the perception that something is wrong with his brain, the uncharacteristic behaviors. also there may be very good reasons for the mom being "uninvolved", and perhaps for the father and others to protect her privacy.
