Right off last week's episode, Angela Cote and Robert Bruski start to talk beyond what virtual reality is and rather get into how it can be used for things outside of entertainment (medicine, education, training, etc.). And, more importantly, they start to touch on the unique experience that people have to become business owners by opening their own Ctrl V location.

Success isn't easy. No one is coming to help you. It is up to you. And so, the path to get to success isn't the responsbility or accountability of anyone else except you. You have to own it and own the whole thing in it's entirety. Ain't no rest for the wicked.

This includes building a budget to see where they can spend, where they need to cut back, and how they can allocate capital to growth. Often times there is a narrative of the franchisee not listening to the franchisor. But sometimes we forget about the franchisor not listening to the franchisee. This is a mutual relationship and they need to listen to eachother. Although the franchisor is "in charge" for lack of a better phrase and has the experience, franchisees often times have great input (and often times not so great), but thoughts need to be shared collaboratively in order for the pair to thrive together. Check out our rant about it in this episode.

The most important team member in a franchise system is often the one stuck in the middle between a franchisor and franchisee. Angela Cote and Robert Bruski were on track to talk about motivating franchisees and instead digressed off into motivation theory. What does it mean? How to build it? What environments does it thrive in? Motivating people isn't as simple as just giving them incentives. It requires the right understanding of it means and what environment it thrives in.

One of the biggest struggles franchisees have is marketing. This is obvious. If they were any good at marketing they would likely be starting a marketing business or working for a marketing company. But how do both parties deal with this shortcoming? Angela Coté and Robert Bruski have a bit of a rant about it.

Sometimes you get a franchisees that starts out rough and immediately changes their mindset to a place of scarcity. It's not uncommon but it really shouldn't happen if both parties have done their due diligence. So what do you do? Check out Angela Coté and Robert Bruski in this episode chatting about that scenario specifically.
