U.S. Representative Ilan Omar (D-MN) is back in the news again after responding to several jabs Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took at her during the annual AIPAC conference last week. Her remarks have sparked a fierce debate regarding American foreign policy, antisemitism in the halls of congress, and the Israeli government's treatment of Palestinians. So the question remains: Is Omar being maligned as antisemitic to deflect from a larger discussion about the U.S.-Israel relationship, or does the Somalia-born congresswoman actually harbor anti-Jewish views?

Israel admitted to launching a series of strikes on targets located just north the Syrian city of Aleppo on Thursday - with the Syrian army claiming its air defenses shot down several missiles and "repelled an Israeli air aggression"  that targeted a number of sites in the Sheikh Najjar industrial zone.
