Nathan Carlos Rupley discusses his experience with reptile and invertebrate keeping alongside his passion for nature in the real world; talking about his feelings behind connecting with nature and rewildling, and how that connects with the reptile keeping hobby. He shares details of his upbringing in Africa, then moving on to adapting to life in the United States, primarily discussing his viewpoints on rewildling rather than becoming reliant on the consumer oriented world. Nathan also continues to discuss various aspects of recognizing plants, using plants for medicine, and the toxicity of some plants that we could potentially use in reptile keeping or in our daily lives. I enjoy this podcast and love it for long drives, but this episode is worth skipping. Its just a kid who thinks they know everything and should dictate how the hobby works while not supporting is claims with real facts or evidence. I agree with him on some levels but he's too extreme and doesn't support his argument.
Hey came over from the Tom's big spiders podcast so I'm new maybe 3 episodes in. wow this was hard to listen too. I felt like I was getting a high school's opinion on how to keep reptiles when he doesn't even keep them yet. I felt like the topic should have been on the sensationalism of animal cruelty and violence. because really that's the issue but it turned into a debate about live feeding when it's like why is that we should be worried about first.
