The attachment theory is a theory that states that how we were treated by our caregivers as children influences how we relate to our partners when we are adults.
There are four attachment styles - anxious, avoidant, fearful-avoidant, and secure. We strive to become more and more secure in our attachment style as we heal old wounds and learn more about ourselves.
