Description
Ever wonder why barber shops have that striped pole out front? What does it mean? Is it a warning? Perhaps a hypnotic device to lull you into spending too much on a haircut? We don’t know. But we will pretend to know, on ANSWER FOR IT! -- the podcast where trivia meets comedy, facts meet improv, and where fumbling the answer for laughs is both an art and a science.
Featuring an all-star “who the hell is that?” cast, ANSWER FOR IT! comes from James and Elyse Willems (Funhaus), AJ LoCascio (X-Men ‘97), and Zach Anner (Speechless)-- four friends ready to tackle silly, unusual, and obscure trivia questions. Like, when in history were Kit-Kat wrappers blue? How do astronauts handle their dirty laundry? And what the heck is a ‘tattie boodie?’ Prepare to listen and leave feeling at least 12% smarter.

Calling all lollipop ladies! Sample a taste of the Magnificent Mangalista, which in no way smells like Uranus. In this episode, Zach presents a compelling argument that Kindergarten Cop is better than Terminator 2 because his dream said so. Plus, AJ gets the most questions right (first time for everything), James catches Elyse on a Cate Blanchett technicality, and we ask an important question: Who is the rightful heir to the Piggy of the Podcast crown?

Elyse trades trivia for monkey puzzles in this week’s slang-heavy episode. Then, in two clutch moments, James’ encyclopedic knowledge of Dennis Rodman and Bond villain brain damage gives him the upper hand. Meanwhile, AJ (the Hans Moleman of the podcast) manages to Trojan Cat the show with a riveting new Dad Story (™). Forever the businessman, Zach (the other Hans Moleman of the podcast) makes a million dollar offer that – hopefully – Chili’s* can’t refuse.
*Chili’s Too also acceptable.

In this week’s episode:
It’s quote-off, vis-a-vis “Charles Manson or Gandhi?”
Menver: gay club or tufted baby hair?
Diana Ross makes a bombastic exit after Super Bowl XXX.
Apparently protecting elderly nephews from outdoor machinery is NOT one of Hawkeye’s exceptional skills.
James picks a fight with pandas, and more.

Pucker-up listeners, because men's rights activist and self-proclaimed “good person” James Willems has some pretty juicy ideas about what two consenting males should be able to do on the steps of the nation's capital.
Meanwhile, self-defamed manchild Zach ponders his right to exist after Sabrina used her pop carpentry skills to build him a complex.
And hand-me-down punnyman AJ finds that jungle cruising outside the podcast for answers is not all it’s cracked up to be.
Last but not least, Elyse reminds us that while It may take two brothers to be a single dentist, it only takes one Canadian Bull worth her salt to host, edit and intro the only trivia podcast that can make a prison escape seem like a good idea.

If Zach spills a milkshake in an elevator and his wife cleans it up while he watches on, did it ever really spill at all?
We tackle trivia of a moral variety on this week’s episode, with questions such as*:
Is it illegal to steal an airplane?
Was Babe Ruth actually magic?
How cold does Coney Island need to get for two A-list actors to eat sloppy sandwiches in the backseat of a Toyota?
… And so much more!
It’s time to pull-up a chair, go for a walk, drive your car, or stand in place staring straight ahead, as you listen to Elyse, AJ, James, and Zach “Messy Shaft” Anner prove once again that you don’t have to be smart to have a podcast.
*Editor’s note: These aren’t the ACTUAL QUESTIONS from this episode but they DO come up.

While we do proudly hold the title of the world’s premier comedy trivia podcast (or at least that’s what our moms say) we're also hard at work, toiling away behind-the-scenes as the custodians of a groundbreaking, state of the art, Piston Cup archive. Not even the founding fathers of yesterday could've fathomed our turbocharged shrine to Ka-chow: a Library of Congress of high-octane lore, preserving the sacred history of animated 'Cars.' With a discerning eye, we’ve set out to document every Piston Cup winner of the last 76 years. Did you know that Junior “Midnight” Moon, winner of the 1958 Piston Cup, was the best friend of Doc Hudson, the car who trained Lightning McQueen? Sadly, he died in 2019. He was a 1940 Ford Standard Coupe.

Just as downloads were increasing, the Answer for It crew have decided to mix things up! This week's episode comes from the mind of Zach as he steps into the role of TRIVIA MASTER (an honorary title that carries no authority).
Does he use this as an opportunity to teach James, Elyse, and AJ about major milestones in the progress of accessibility in America? Or keep it silly with no less than TWO Holiday-themed questions?
Hunker down like you're in a San Antonio fort in 1836, because this one goes off the rails faster than you can name all ten Canadian provinces.

In this new episode of Answer for It:
The future calls via iPhone.
James, trivia sniper, proves that he knows more about The Matrix than Zach.
We ask ourselves how we should REALLY feel about The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior.
Everyone has their own interpretation of what services the fabled ‘Groom of the Stool’ once performed for his well-fed royal liege.
We ask what it would take for Superman to swallow his pride and borrow money from Batman.
Zach sees all, including his own hallux.
... And much, much more!

When we started this podcast ten episodes ago, we were but four childish trivia nerds who would giggle at mere mention of names like ‘Mosher Butts’ without even considering his indelible contribution to the board game industry! But now, AJ can ask mature, insightful questions like "does Scrabble spell potato?” On episode one, if we had received a bad review, we would’ve spent the whole hour passive aggressively needling the anonymous listener just to prove they didn't hurt our feelings. As adults, we don't need validation from strangers, just James's mom, who isn't just loving the podcast, but learning things she never would've known without it like the sound of her own son's voice. And at the beginning of this journey, Buffalo Zach would've scoffed at Elyse flipping to the sticky pages of the Guinness book to find a record that never would've been set if Alfred Hitchcock hadn't scared people away from taking showers. Now, 10 weeks in, he can calmly voice his protestations, and move on to more adult musings, like, if on those lonely nights, wandering through worlds in Nintendo land without Princess Peach, Mario and Yoshi might've had maritals. Not in a lascivious manner, of course, but in a way that challenges us all to re-examine what we know about love itself. Ten episodes in, we're wiser. We've learned not just about the world but ourselves. We appreciate cinnamon and understand that chocolate isn't ALWAYS cold, and I feel like that's a good thing.

The longer you wait to listen to this episode of Answer for It, the harder it gets! At the top of the show, we honor the memory of brave gelatinous blob Squibbly Bits who died saving his belongings (not kids) from a raging house fire. Then, the group treads stormy waters as James hits the high seas to plunder the depths of his questionable Instagram algorithm, but not before making Operation Mincemeat out of Elyse for falling asleep at the cinema. Zach’s pug-owner card is revoked by a pack of wild Olives. And, as newly crowned rodent sovereign, Rat King AJ declares that one must “never go on a cruise where someone changes your sheets for you.”

In the eighth episode of one dead Internet lobster’s most humane podcast, our over-medicated Pokémon and trivia poet, Elyse Wille...
I'm sorry everyone. Zach here, breaking the fourth wall. Normally, I like to keep these episode descriptions fun, brief, to the point and concise because I follow AJ's example. But today I'm a little upset. I know you're probably all in magical Scotland thinking, "hey Zach, I'm no Dr. Thunder, but why don't you just take a couple Milotic to chill out?” Well, that would be a disaster!
In the beginning of this week's episode, you'll hear James say that he took a health soda out of my fridge that didn't belong to him. Editing gives the impression that I gave him permission to take it, when in fact, it belonged to my roommate, best friend and wife, Karlee. Well, newsflash, audience! That's just Hollywood podcast trickery. What you don't hear is the preceding four hours (which I would've left in) of me being strong-armed by a man with very strong arms -- James Willems -- into relinquishing the fizzy beverage. But make no mistake; James stole that soda then walked around this apartment in beautiful, downtown REDACTED like he was the King of Pop. Even Michael Jackson couldn't refute it because (as we all know) he‘s too busy making those Marvel films. So here I am, using this description to demand an apology. And, if he can't think of one, maybe he should take a cue from his namesake, Jimi Hendrix, and say sorry for once. Otherwise, Elyse is going to have to do the description for next week's episode, and nobody wants to read that because her taste in words is as bad as it is in husbands.

In the seventh episode of america's longest running trivia podcast, Jersey Shore reject Elyse "Leesy D" Willems wrangles the cabs and the queries for three noncanonical Young Indiana Jones-es; James Willems, Zach Anner, and AJ LoCascio, as they reminisce on 300 nonconsecutive shows of nonsensical non-sequiturs. Who could forget such unforgettable moments as that one Christmas Tom Hanks that capped a boy? Or the time when we all realized dolphins faked the moon landing just to make AJ's dad seem like a conspiracy theorist? Even after 300 episodes and fives of questions answered, it's still hard to tell whether we've built a legacy as lasting as the Olympics, or as flimsy as the nest of a bloated Disneyland pigeon. Either way, here's to another 300 episodes to make it an even 14!

In the sixth episode of the AJ Is Very Tired podcast (formerly Answer For It), sleepy orphan AJ is very tired. That is, until local potato bogie James and flustered flay crake Zach invite him on a fizzy river boat ride to capture the "Creature of the Creek," none other mouth-agape soda skeptic Elyse. She’s full of riddles, secrets, and JFK assassination plots that’ll have you red in the face, clutching your pearls, and wondering if there shouldn’t be a law against apes having guns. Isn’t that magical?

We come to this place for trivia. We come to Answer for It episode five to laugh, to cry, to hear James assuredly espouse “the philosophy of lifeguard,” and then minutes later ask what body parts "cans" are. Because we all need to know that. All of us.
That indescribable feeling we get when AJ, doing a spot-on impression of the creepy old man from Family Guy, riffs on the idea of Abraham Lincoln’s corpse racing the luge.
Dazzling mental images of a big purple dinosaur peeing at a urinal. Space suits you can smell.
Somehow, hemorrhoids feel funny in a place like this. And stories of old underwear taken on vacation feel perfect and pointless. Because here, they are.

In the fourth episode of every Gary's favorite trivia podcast, beloved teacher and Miss Frazzled, Elyse tries to keep the wheels on the bus from coming off, off, OFF while truant C-minus students AJ, James, and Zach spend the hour proving they should've paid attention in class by musing on such unknowable mysteries as "what is a yard?” "why is a pound?” and “ does two unrelated people having similar names but different ages constitute trivia?” They learn the hard way that nobody gets a free lunch (except Zach) and get schooled by the baby versions of themselves. Because the only thing more powerful than knowledge is a leaf blower to the face.

In the third episode of Epcot’s best trivia podcast, mob boss and Canadian Ellen DeGeneres Elyse Willems drags secret weaklings James, AJ, and Zach to the swamp of her dreams to start gettin’ some answers. Will James‘s bicep be fast enough to save them from suffering the same fate as the carefree women who drink gin or milk? Will it take the emergence of unsung heroes Spider-Man 3 and Dr. Needleman to rescue them from the masked men waiting in the Denny’s they all call home? And will they finally learn the only superpower they needed all along was something that two out of three of them already had: a syphilis-free brain?

In the second episode of this first trivia podcast to ever get a PG-13 rating, Hard-Wonking candy woman Elyse steers the nightmare boat between pure imagination and pure nonsense to give unqualified Oompa-Loompas James, AJ, and Zach a golden ticket for a tour of German King Henry VI’s far more deadly, uh, chocolate factory. AJ learns which if not all of his most cherished hobbies are the least attractive to women according to “science,” a.k.a. some random magazine. Plus, James answers a riddle with another riddle: would YOU travel through time for a Klondike bar? And the group ponders two of the most urgent and relevant questions of our time: when IS it appropriate to shame a disabled person for their wheelchair? And, given that, what can we learn from the way heteronormative relationships are presented in 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie?
