During AK Richardson 's debate with James White on Romans 9 on Thursday evening, he gave me a shout out! He mentioned the debate He and I had on perseverance of the saints, and the section where we debated Romans 8 on the topic. This debate took place several years ago on the IrresistibleTruth  channel and we each chose three passages of Scripture which we felt best taught our position. Please enjoy this throwback episode and I apologize there has been no new content for a few weeks. New content coming soon...Link to Romans 9 Debate https://www.youtube.com/live/VOrVpiRAWVY?si=U8uPrH7x8I53x2sm
Here is the audio of a debate I was involved in on May 10, 2021 on the topic of Faith and Regeneration. It was a 3 on 3 debate, where I was on the team taking the position that regeneration precedes faith. 3 Arminians (Dane Van Eys, David Pallmann, Dan Chapa) take on 3 Calvinists (Tyler Fowler, Ty Brillhart, David Louis) in this 2 HOUR EPISODE to debate the thesis "Does Faith Precede Regeneration?"Order of Events:1ST HOUR1) Dane Van Eys - 15 Min Positive Opening Statement2) Tyler Fowler - 15 Min Negative Opening Statement3) David Pallmann - 15 Min Positive Rebuttal4) Ty Brillhart - 15 Min Negative Rebuttal----------10 MIN BREAK----------2ND HOUR1) 40 Min Cross Examination (4x 10 min segments)2) Dan Chapa - 10 Min Positive Closing Statement3) David Louis - 10 Min Negative Closing StatementModerators:Joshua "Jimmy" Davidson & Cole Perkins
In this episode, we continue studying the topic of Limited Atonement by reading through the excellent introduction by J.I. Packer to the Banner of Truth Edition of John Owen's "Death of Death in the Death of Christ". This intro deserves to be read regularly by those who want to understand the issues at stake between Calvinism and Arminianism. Link to Intro here : https://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/sdg/packer_deathintro.html
In this video, I cover the excellent presentation of Dr. David Allen and Dan Chapa, laying out the issues surrounding the Sufficieny of Christ's Atonement in the Limited Atonement debate. This discussion took place on  @Soteriology101  We look at the 4 terms that Dr. Allen says are crucial to understanding the issues at stake. We also look at Dan Chapa's McDonald's fries analogy, which I change to the Chick Fil-A fried analogy :)Original Video https://www.youtube.com/live/1a574NEYJnw?si=0Hyp90tNlE9h4XLV Shai Linne -Mission Accomplished https://youtu.be/hZ_jFO2VzRQ?si=oSkqO9DtkVrDaUm7
In this episode, we read through a chapter in Curt Daniel's book "The History & Theology of Calvinism" where he details the Reformed view of Limited Atonement. We cover what he sees and the consensus in their writings and go over many quotes. This is in preparation as I am planning several response videos to Dr. David Allen and Dan Chapa on their response to the recent Limited Atonement debate.
This is special audio of when I joined TurretinFan live to review the Limited atonement Debate between Nortier & White vs. Farris & Chapa. We cover Dr. Farris's Cross exam of Dr. White. In this video, We read through a section of Phillip Schaff's "History of the Christian Church" entitled External History of the Pelagian Controversy. We discover that the controversy between Pelagius and Augustine is much more complicated and detailed than many modern accounts you will hear. We see how having this more in depth knowledge of the history will equip you to respond to non-calvinists and their claims about Pelagianism and Augustine.
In this video, we continue our review of an interaction between  @StrivingforEternity  and  @Soteriology101  on the topic of Provisionism and Calvinism. Some very important topics were discussed and Sye Ten Bruggencate makes and appearance at the end which you can't miss!
This is a two part review of a discussion between Andrew Rappaport of  @StrivingforEternity  and Leighton Flowers of  @Soteriology101  where they discuss Calvinism and Provisionism. This is a very interesting and cordial discussion where many important questions are asked of Leighton and his responses are interacted with.
In this episode, we continue our series on the Biblical Theology of Penal Substitutionary Atonement. We walk through the book of Numbers and see how God's anger is kindled against Israel in the wilderness, and how Moses, Aaron and others are called to intercede and make atonement for the people.
We continue our study of the Biblical Theology of penal substitutionary atonement by going through the book of Leviticus and seeing what it teaches us.
In this episode, we continue our Biblical Theology of Penal Substitutionary Atonement, walking through the book of Exodus. We look at the Passover, the giving of the Law, the intercession of Moses and other sections which bear on the Biblical presentation of this important doctrine.
In this video, I was invited to come on  @IrresistibleTruth  with Derek Murrell live and answer the 20 questions posed by  @BraxtonHunter  and Trinity Radio.
In this episode, we begin a series where we look at the doctrine of Penal Substitutionary Atonement from a Biblical Theology foundation. Here we walk through the book of Genesis, and explore themes like sacrifice, the curse, the shedding of blood, the patriarchal blessing & curse and Covenant.
In this video, we review a video posted by  @Soteriology101  where Dr. Leighton Flowers has a conversion with  @TwitchyTheologian  about Acts 28 and Genesis 4. We explore how Dr. Flowers presuppositions about original sin and human responsibility in his refuting of Calvinism, if applied to matters of the core Gospel message end up eroding the very foundations of the Gospel.
In this episode, we look at the excellent article written by Bruce Ware entitled "The Compatibility of Determinism and Human Freedom" in the book "Whoever He Wills". It is an excellent study of Biblical texts that teach us that there must be 2 answers to why things happen in history, and not just 1. You were determined from the foundation of the world to watch this video, but you also freely chose to watch it! Enjoy
In this episode, we conclude our review of the video put out by Provisionist Perspective entitled - Response to Calvinism vs BIBLICAL Context Which Makes More Sense. We discuss open theism and some of the problems with online theological discourse.
In this episode, I respond to comments made on a recent video posted by  @TheProvisionistPerspective  where they respond to Chris Date's response to Braxton Hunter asking him to respond to non-calvinist proof texts! :) My concern here isn't necessarily to defend calvinism per se, but to caution that the desire to come against "determinism" in Calvinism can push one to the other extreme and end up denying key elements of the gospel. Enjoy.Link to full video at provisionist perspective here-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3cewbaACBQ&t=9155s
In this episode, we continue our series on Advent by going over the four readings in the ACNA lectionary. We discuss prophetic expectations, Paul's exhortations about anxiety & our thought life, and the ministry of John the Baptist.
