Appalachian Pi

Vara was one hell of a guest to land.  She's a native New Yorker who moved to Asheville and lived here for several years. As and educator, and accomplished storyteller on the circuit we had so much to discuss.  We actually got to record this episode on the deck of her home in the shadow of Mt. Pisgah.  I'm positive you'll enjoy our conversation.

No he's not "that" Mr. Lincoln but he portrays him on the reenactment scene and for historical presentations throughout the upper/middle Appalachian region.  We had a wonderful conversation and I found it extremely informative.  Hope you do as well.

As I drive through several WNC counties I pause for a few minutes to discuss and online radio show that unfortunately never came to fruition.  Several of my previous guests volunteered their help and content to make this project even feasible to attempt.  I hope you enjoy this bonus episode.

For those who don't know her, allow me to introduce you to Pepper Fandango.  This Appalachian talent has her hands in so many creative endeavors I can't list them all.  Enjoy the conversation we had with the knowledge that she is an accomplished musician, audio engineer, and burlesque performer based out of West Virginia.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Berry since he was a child.  As a native Appalachian he grabbed his dream of acting and took off in the pursuit of theatrical fame.  Come join us in a conversation about how we met, his adventures in drama, and general discussion about growing up Appalachian.

Sweet Sara gained some local notoriety after participating in a brief local news outlet's piece about a prostitution sting.  Sara agreed to provide me with a more detailed look into her life and the life sex workers endure.  I hope you enjoy a peek into this facet of Appalachia.

Ms. Blaine (no relation) takes a bit of time out of her busy schedule to speak with me.  She is a musician and producer/promoter in Music City USA, i.e. Nashville.  We discuss how she ended up in Nashville and some of the stories she's collected in her adventures.

On this episode I get to have a conversation with French Professor Taylor.  We have known each other for several years and were even roommates for a while in college.  We spend some time discussing his upbringing in Appalachia, reminiscing on our days in theatre together, as well as his coming to realize and accept his sexuality.
