Vara was one hell of a guest to land. She's a native New Yorker who moved to Asheville and lived here for several years. As and educator, and accomplished storyteller on the circuit we had so much to discuss. We actually got to record this episode on the deck of her home in the shadow of Mt. Pisgah. I'm positive you'll enjoy our conversation.
No he's not "that" Mr. Lincoln but he portrays him on the reenactment scene and for historical presentations throughout the upper/middle Appalachian region. We had a wonderful conversation and I found it extremely informative. Hope you do as well.
As I drive through several WNC counties I pause for a few minutes to discuss and online radio show that unfortunately never came to fruition. Several of my previous guests volunteered their help and content to make this project even feasible to attempt. I hope you enjoy this bonus episode.
For those who don't know her, allow me to introduce you to Pepper Fandango. This Appalachian talent has her hands in so many creative endeavors I can't list them all. Enjoy the conversation we had with the knowledge that she is an accomplished musician, audio engineer, and burlesque performer based out of West Virginia.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Berry since he was a child. As a native Appalachian he grabbed his dream of acting and took off in the pursuit of theatrical fame. Come join us in a conversation about how we met, his adventures in drama, and general discussion about growing up Appalachian.
Sweet Sara gained some local notoriety after participating in a brief local news outlet's piece about a prostitution sting. Sara agreed to provide me with a more detailed look into her life and the life sex workers endure. I hope you enjoy a peek into this facet of Appalachia.
Ms. Blaine (no relation) takes a bit of time out of her busy schedule to speak with me. She is a musician and producer/promoter in Music City USA, i.e. Nashville. We discuss how she ended up in Nashville and some of the stories she's collected in her adventures.
On this episode I get to have a conversation with French Professor Taylor. We have known each other for several years and were even roommates for a while in college. We spend some time discussing his upbringing in Appalachia, reminiscing on our days in theatre together, as well as his coming to realize and accept his sexuality.
take a listen to my conversation with Mr. Blood. I'm not blowing smoke here at all. Follow him and enjoy his perspective.
Come enjoy a conversation with my friends. Gypsy Rhythm is a trio based out of Charleston WV. They're great folks and I'm sure you'll enjoy their music!
Join me in a discussion with Lee. He's an activist, comedian, and tv host. Check him out on RTAmerica.
Come meet attorney Bowman. We speak about drugs and the culture surrounding them in WNC.
Meet my friend Rodney. He's a theatre producer, actor, photographer, and all around fun guy to speak with. Enjoy the conversation we had on stage at the Magnetic Theatre in Asheville.
I believe this was our third episode where we were joined by another hillbilly from back home. Enjoy this blast from the past.
We got a chance to speak with a few Appalachian and non-Appalachian gamers in this one. Unfortunately I am no gamer so it was kinda awkward.
This episode has it all... theatre, higher education, Appalachia, adoption, and dare I say such taboos as... guess you'll have to listen to find out. I lived just down the hall from Danny for a couple of years and am proud to call him a friend.
A friend and old roomie took a chance by babbling with me. You may or may not learn the origin of the nickname in the conversation.
One of the original aspholes joined me for a conversation
Check out his podcasts and network.
I had the opportunity to speak with an outstanding gentleman. I hope you all enjoy the conversation and take some of his words to heart. seriously, I mean this.
Say howdy to a native of the same area of TN as I am. It's only natural that we have a conversation. As a matter of fact, she has sat in as a cohost on a few episodes.
