-Missed Opportunity- I love sharing conversations. Hosting requires show prep. My podcasting platforms feature thousands of guests. What you don’t have access to are the missed opportunities. The show prep was completed. The conversation didn’t happen. I keep all my notes! Paths will cross again. Let me explain Missed Opportunity. It’s my questions and statements without their answers. I’m leaving open enough space at the end of each question hoping they’ll download the talk and insert their answers.Missed Opportunity is a lost piece of history. Like a message in a bottle tossed out to sea. I hope to locate a destination… This week we’re putting focus on my missed opportunity with podcast host Raquel Willis. Missed Opportunity. A lost piece of history. You know the questions. Let’s locate the reactions. The door is always open. If you are or know Raquel Willis please reach out to me at arroec@gmail.com that’s arroec@gmail.com Be brilliant! “Federico has made it alone, imagining much and working more, arriving from Ravenna, where he was born, to become part of King Charles III’s task force.… Those who want to break the mold have to take risks, swim against the tide, walk untrodden paths.”—Giorgio Armani, from the foreword to The Geek of Chic. At the start of the 21st century, shopping online was still a futuristic fantasy. There was no Facebook, there were no iPhones. And yet, in the spring of 2000, Federico Marchetti invented one of the world’s first platforms for online sales—and started a company that would revolutionize the luxury fashion sector. In THE GEEK OF CHIC: An American Dream, Italian Style (Post Hill Press; September 9, 2025; ISBN: 9798895650608; $18.99; 288 pages; Original Trade Paperback), international fashion business and tech icon Federico Marchetti, (with a foreword by Giorgio Armani), shares his engaging, honest and passionate memoir that reveals how he morphed from a geeky kid in the sleepy seaside town of Ravenna, Italy to a pioneer in online retail, offering practical advice for entrepreneurs and inspiration for visionaries and big dreamers. The Geek of Chic explains the present and future of Marchetti’s life, including working on His Majesty King Charles III’s service as Chair of The Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Fashion Task Force, which includes brands such as Chloé, Armani, Burberry, Cucinelli, Stella McCartney, and Prada. In a sector known for individualism, Marchetti is uniting global luxury groups around a common goal of shifting towards a circular industry that is climate-conscious and nature-positive. The King of England now considers Marchetti his consigliere on matters of regenerative fashion and digital innovation, collaborating on several initiatives and projects. Unfolding against a backdrop of famed vistas—Milan, Lake Como, Venice, England’s Royal Palace, New York City, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Dubai—and featuring encounters with notables from Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos to Giorgio Armani and Anna Wintour, The Geek of Chic’s message is relevant to a new generation of entrepreneurs who wish to combine innovation, business acumen, and AI with humanism, creativity and empathy: how to achieve the American dream in an Italian way. The Writings of Frederick Douglass on Abraham Lincoln, acclaimed scholars Lucas E. Morel and Jonathan W. White assemble Frederick Douglass’s meaningful and poignant statements about Abraham Lincoln, including a dozen newly discovered documents that haven’t been seen for 160 years. Measuring the Man brings together, for the first time, every substantive comment Frederick Douglass made about Abraham Lincoln. Spanning more than three decades, this revelatory collection traces Douglass’s complex, evolving assessment of the man who led the nation through the Civil War and emancipation. Readers will encounter the distrust and vitriol Douglass directed at Lincoln throughout much of the Civil War, including his anger and frustration with the president as he moved slowly, but methodically, toward emancipation. Douglass’s writings also reveal how three personal interactions between these two great men led to powerful feelings of friendship and mutual admiration. After Lincoln’s assassination—as Jim Crow laws and political violence gutted the hard-won rights of Black Americans—Douglass expressed greater appreciation for Lincoln’s statesmanship during the Civil War and praised him as a model for postwar America. There is no one better than Frederick Douglass to offer a critical assessment of the Great Emancipator and savior of the Union. His reflections not only convey Lincoln’s contributions to the nation but also teach today’s generation timely lessons on how to fulfill the promise of the American republic. Measuring the Man sheds new light on the most critical period of American history and will transform the way we think about these two extraordinary leaders.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

I’m always asking questions. The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as… Are we wasting too much time dreaming about having a better job and life? Plus…what three questions should we be asking ourselves every morning we wake up? I’m Arroe… I am a daily writer. A silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate. I call it The Daily Mess. A chronological walk through an everyday world. Yes, it’s my morning writing. As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later. When a subject arrives, I dig in. It’s still keeping a journal! In 1972, Anson Williams landed the role of Potsie Weber in a segment of the comedy-anthology series Love, American Style titled "Love and the Happy Days", which also introduced Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard), Richie's mother Marion (Marion Ross), and other characters that were spun off into the television series Happy Days. (Only Williams, Howard, and Ross reprised their roles for the spin-off).The new series' first season, during which Williams received second billing after Howard, was centered mainly on Richie and Potsie. Eventually, as break-out character Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler) and Richie's mother, father, and sister became more popular, Potsie was joined by Ralph Malph (Don Most, who was merely a side character in season one), and Potsie and Ralph became inseparable.Unlike Howard and Most, Williams was one of the few to remain through the entire run of the series, although his appearances became less frequent in later seasons. In some episodes, Richie, Potsie, and Ralph formed a band combo that performed at Arnold's Drive-In and other places. As Potsie, Williams actually sang lead vocals for the group. Williams' first wife, Lorrie Mahaffey, portrayed Potsie's girlfriend, Jennifer, in later seasons. After Happy Days, Williams began a much more prolific career as a television director, starting with short programs for adolescent-age children, including afterschool specials "No Greater Gift" (1985) and "The Drug Knot" (1986), and TV-movie Lone Star Kid (1986). He has gone on to direct many episodes for a variety of television series, including Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, seaQuest DSV, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Charmed He also directed several episodes of the TV series 7th Heaven.Despite his success as a director and producer, Williams has occasionally returned to his work on Happy Days in retrospective ways. He played himself in a 1996 Happy Days-themed Boy Meets World episode (which also featured former castmates Tom Bosley and Pat Morita). While directing a 2003 episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch titled "Sabrina in Wonderland", he appeared as Potsie in a fantasy sequence. He also joined his fellow Happy Days cast members for reunion specials in 1992 and 2005.Williams is also a businessman. In 1987, fellow Happy Days cast member Al Molinaro and he opened a chain of diners called Big Al's; the business went defunct. He founded Starmaker Products, a cosmetics company, and was a featured speaker at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's National Trademark Expo in April 2008, at which he talked about the importance of registered trademarks for small businesses (and signed autographs for Happy Days fans). Williams is the author of Singing to a Bulldog: From Happy Days to Hollywood Director, and the Unlikely Mentor Who Got Me ThereABOUT THE PERFECT PORTION COOKBOOKAnson Williams is living proof that "Sixty is the New Sexy," and now he shares his own philosophy on fitness in "The Perfect Portion Cookbook," which was recently selected and scheduled by QVC to be launched on Super Bowl Sunday. Anson Williams, best known for his role of on "Happy Days," had the 100-calorie idea, based on his own need to stay fit and still be able to eat the foods he loved. He, along with and JoAnna Connell, contacted Bob Warden (New York Times best selling cookbook author and TV cooking personality), who partnered with Mona Dolgov (experienced nutritionist, cookbook author and marketer for the food and appliance industry) and the result was "The Perfect Portion Cookbook." "It's the first 100 Calorie Count System of its kind," says Anson. "America's Favorite Comfort Foods all in Simple 100 Calorie Portions. It's the easiest calorie count in the world. How cool is that?" Unlike any other programs out there, you can eat what you love and never over eat! The successful entrepreneurial team of Williams and Connell along with Warden and Dolgov, two of the most revered and respected individuals in the cooking world, have created an exciting lifestyle platform that will fight a horrendous problem - obesity. A catastrophic condition in the USA, "The Perfect Portion Cookbook" is a major step toward solving the problem. In a world that has been so "millennial" focused in recent years and where "boomers" are being judged as old or not happening, Anson sets an example of how vital they can be by using the Perfect Portion Control system himself, which has resulted in a slimmer and more energetic outlook. With 150 of America’s favorite comfort foods, "The Perfect Portion Cookbook" has everything from French Toast to Lasagna and Apple Turnovers, all with easy, perfect portion control, using a simple 100 Calorie Counting System. The first of its kind, each of the classic comfort food recipes, allow food lovers to eat “guilt free,” because each recipe has been crafted in multiples of 100 calories, to select the perfect portion that is right for the individual. HOW ARE MARINE ROBOTS SHAPING OUR FUTURE? inventor James Bellingham draws on decades of expeditions from the Arctic to the Antarctic to reveal how autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are changing how humans explore and work in the ocean. These robots endure crushing pressures, freezing waters, and total darkness—collecting data vital for climate science, offshore energy, aquaculture, archaeology, and more. And the story doesn’t end on Earth. Many of the same technologies being perfected in our seas will one day explore ocean worlds beyond our planet—including Jupiter’s moon Europa and Saturn’s moon Enceladus—places where liquid water lies beneath thick ice and where conditions may be right for extraterrestrial life. Finding life in these alien oceans would be one of the most profound discoveries in human history, changing how we see ourselves in the universe. From enduring fierce storms off Antarctica to developing robots that “think” and navigate on their own, Bellingham shares the inside story of working at the intersection of:Scientific discovery—expanding our knowledge of oceans on Earth and beyondCutting-edge technology—designing self-reliant machines for extreme environmentsSocietal choice—balancing the benefits of ocean technology with environmental, ethical, and economic considerationsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.
