Parkour communities in the US have grown significantly over the past few years and are increasingly becoming parts of the urban canvas. As parkour continues to grow, we are going to have to define where our roles are within the communities that we live in. Are we just going to be a small business that serves a small sliver of the population and is relatively unknown outside of that? Blake will examine the ways that we can better integrate parkour communities into the fabric of the urban canvas. Blake Evitt was a Division 1 college cross country and track athlete when he first tried a parkour class in France. In 2010 he was awarded a prestigious Thomas J Watson Fellowship to continue his exploration on the sport and its evolution taking him around the world. His amazing experiences influenced him to launch Parkour Generations Americas. Today Blake continues to help manage the Somerville / Boston parkour community, develop ADAPT Qualifications instructors, and is a director for the United States Parkour Association. How do our organizations change in the presence of others? Social influences play a large role in how we move, think, and interact with our environments. In his "Peer Pressure - A Social Context Through Movement" workshop, Alan will help participants explore the delicate constructs that manifest between social chemistry and movement. We will observe, play, and reflect on our interactions utilizing tools garnered from parkour, Laban Method, contact improv, and more. After stumbling across parkour on the internet in 2006, Alan Tran recognized fitness, and movement were the containers for him to help others explore themselves. He has worked to secure the North Carolina parkour community through a multitude of public gatherings, workshops, and service. While attending NC State University, he established the school-sanctioned parkour club. Alan founded Enso Movement to foster the growth and education of parkour, its values, and community. He continues to collaborate with athletes, artists, and designers on many projects including Summit Parkour Gathering, Art of Retreat, United States Parkour Association, and more. Whether teaching classes or studying movement, Alan firmly aspires to help everyone explore the depths of parkour and its values to reveal their truths. Real inclusion isn't about ticking off a checklist. It is about connected and caring relationships, and it can only happen when we are willing to listen to disabled people and work with them to ensure our spaces and services are meeting everyone's needs. In "Neurodiversity & Inclusivity" Paula Flinn will challenge the dominant narrative surrounding autism and other disabilities, as we explore and consider the Neurodiversity Paradigm and the Social Model of Disability. She will look at how understanding and embracing these concepts is vital in ensuring our classes and communities are safe and inclusive for neurodivergent children and adults. Paula Flinn is a movement loving, neurodivergent woman and mother, who is curious about everything! She works as a Breathwork practitioner and Parkour coach, and is fascinated by the ways in which we can integrate and weave together healing with movement. In "Progress Your Fitness by Playing with Intent - A Framework for Play," Charles will explore a framework to guide play within fitness classes to cultivate particular outcomes in this SPARK. The framework consists of six distinct intentions, sorted into two broad categories. Through referencing this framework when programming, play can go beyond a light-hearted activity to one that also fosters self-efficacy, skill mastery, community, self-confidence, and more. Charles St.John has been coaching parkour with APEX Movement for over 7 years. He holds an ACE Personal Training Certification and has studied under notable coaches such as Ido Portal, Fighting Monkey, Emmet Louis, and more. He also coaches specialized mobility and joint health classes through his personal brand, Movabilities. Additionally, he has classroom teaching experience from the JET Programme and extensive fitness industry knowledge through his current job working for Zen Planner, a gym management software company. In our modern era people come to view people and nature as separate. We have complex built environments that are oriented around safety and convenience. While these have inherently made our lives easier and allowed great technological advancements it has come at the cost of our health. Kyle Koch will explore this through concepts and ideas borrowed from functional neurology, nature connection practices, medical studies, philosophy and psychology in his SPARK, "Nature Health and Movement." Kyle Koch has been facilitating transformative experiences in nature for almost a decade: inspiring youth and adults to connect to their gifts through exploration, curiosity, and play. Kyle is always expanding his practice through the study and application of Strength Training, Martial Arts, Meditation, Breath Work, and Functional Neurology Concepts. Kyle began training at Parkour Visions in 2012. After two years in the Parkour gym, he met Rafe Kelley, and was inspired to take his passion for movement back into the trees. When he is not teaching or facilitating, you can find Kyle exploring opportunities to deepen his connection with himself, others, and the Earth. I find interest in what Dan Edwardes says about over training and Dan says one has a tendency to over train in Parkour. Im not qualified in parkour by any means of the imagination but I involve myself where overtraining is almost necessary to gain the training I wish to achieve. But at the same time being aware my immune system can get depleted. Even before I knew about Parkour but when I had just changed my fitness routine a, year into indoor bouldering at the age of 63 and then I found out about gymnastics. I would attend stretching classes and do moves where I believed I was pushing my body beyond its limits. There was a downside that was quite uncomfortable. This discomfort was especially worse at night while I tried to sleep and would have to be on permanent pain killers. However on the plus side, my body eventually learned how to move around the pain and I stopped taking pain killers. I am often aware of injuries that plague my everyday life. However, I find alternatives, I have
