https://Art2Life.com - As an artist, the thought of not knowing what comes next is bothersome. But “not knowing” is often necessary. Sometimes we have to spend time pondering what’s next. We need to give ourselves space and time to sit with the discomfort of uncertainty. We have to get comfortable with the phenomenon of doing and not knowing. I’m painting right now. I’m doing one thing at a time, uncertain what I will do next. I’m simply being present with what I’m making. In this episode of the Art2Life Podcast, I explore finding clarity by sitting in a place of not knowing. https://Art2Life.com - Silvia Poloto emigrated to the United States in the 90s. It was here that she stumbled on a knack for art—and it changed the trajectory of her life. When Silvia was finishing her Master’s Degree, she started cutting out pieces from magazines and making collages. She started working with metal. Looking to learn more, she signed up for a class called “Metal Arts,” only to realize it was a jewelry-making class. She spent her time in class creating small sculptures with the material. Her instructor was fascinated. She shared her art with him and he was impressed, convinced she had an art degree instead of one in engineering. That’s when she realized she might have a future in art. She taught herself metalworking, painting and photography. With every subsequent work of art, her style evolves. She allows her inner self to direct the next piece. ================================ LISTEN IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN… [1:35] Learn more about Silvia Poloto [8:36] Silvia’s studio in a shipyard [12:28] The evolution of Silvia’s work [16:35] Sirens, Saints, and Sinners [20:58] Learn about our Art2Life retreats [22:09] How art teaches you who you are [27:21] How Silvia comes up with new ideas [39:08] Seeing yourself through a different lens [44:20] Embracing uncertainty in your life and work [55:34] What’s next for Silvia Poloto? ================================ RESOURCES MENTIONED Pamela Walsh Gallery: https://www.pamelawalshgallery.com/ ================================= CONNECT WITH SILVIA POLOTO Silvia’s website: https://poloto.com/ Explore Sivia’s art on Instagram: https://instagram.com/silviapoloto/ ============================= CONNECT WITH NICHOLAS WILTON AND ART2LIFE: Get the Free COLOR TIPS PDF: https://workshop.art2life.com/color-tips-pdf-podcasts/ Follow the Sunday Art2Life Vlog: https://art2life.lpages.co/sign-up-for-the-a2l-vlog/ Follow Nicholas Wilton's Art on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nicholaswilton/ Follow Art2Life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/art2life_world/?hl=en Subscribe on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/Art2Life #Art2Life #FineArt #AbstractArt #ModernArt #Contemporary
https://Art2Life.com - The power dynamics at play in an organization can often make it difficult—if not impossible—to form connections with coworkers and superiors. It’s easy to let prejudices and insecurity get in the way. But an environment of collaboration and trust is key to successful organizations. The truth is that as macho or hardened as someone seems, we’re all fragile. The human experience is challenging. Compassion and empathy are exceedingly important—yet exceedingly rare. Adam Rosendahl combines music and art in a group setting that leads to groundbreaking and transformative results: connection between strangers. Everyone has a desperate longing to feel seen and heard. In our conversation, Adam shares how Late Nite Art combines music, art, and collaboration to bring people together and help them feel seen. ================================ LISTEN IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN… [2:00] Learn more about Adam’s business, Late Nite Art [11:34] How Adam fell in love with collaborative art [14:11] Moving people into flow and self-discovery [23:35] Adam’s unique artistic process [26:38] 2024 Art2Life retreats in Morocco and Mexico [27:47] Powerful questions that prompt connection [32:51] How art unlocks communication [42:08] The direction of Late Nite Art [52:01] The biggest lesson Adam’s learned ================================ RESOURCES MENTIONED Hear Adam’s origin story in episode #84: https://www.art2life.com/2023/05/31/late-nite-art-adam-rosendahl-ep-84/ ================================= CONNECT WITH ADAM ROSENDAHL Late Nite Art™: https://www.lateniteart.com/ Adam’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theadamrosendahl/ Adam’s website: https://www.adamrosendahl.com/ ============================= CONNECT WITH NICHOLAS WILTON AND ART2LIFE: Get the Free COLOR TIPS PDF: https://workshop.art2life.com/color-tips-pdf-podcasts/ Follow the Sunday Art2Life Vlog: https://art2life.lpages.co/sign-up-for-the-a2l-vlog/ Follow Nicholas Wilton's Art on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nicholaswilton/ Follow Art2Life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/art2life_world/?hl=en Subscribe on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/Art2Life #Art2Life #FineArt #AbstractArt #ModernArt #Contemporary
https://Art2Life.com - I was walking into my studio the other day and met a woman who happened to be walking by. She’d recently taken my free workshop—while on a sailboat. It turns out that she’s an amazing photographer, artist, creator, and adventurer. When Covid hit, she—along with her husband and twin boys—embarked on a grand adventure: Sailing the world. They bought a catamaran and started their journey in New Zealand. Taking action and diving in wholeheartedly led to some of the best experiences of their lives. In our candid conversation, Kristin shares what she’s learned on the journey about herself and her art, the power of being present, and her advice to those looking to embark on their own adventure. ================================ LISTEN IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN… [4:00] Introducing Kristin Little and her art [8:38] The decision to buy a boat and sail the world [20:26] Navigating life on a boat [27:25] This year’s Art2Life retreats [28:35] Sailing is about being present [37:28] Feeling where other people are [40:30] Kristin’s experience traveling with her kids [45:50] What’s next for Kristin and her family [50:59] Kristin’s advice for someone ready to adventure ================================ RESOURCES MENTIONED Rangiroa: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rangiroa ================================= CONNECT WITH KRISTIN LITTLE Friend on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kristin.s.little Follow on Instagram: http://instagram.com/klittlephoto Kristin’s website: http://www.kristinlittle.com/ ============================= CONNECT WITH NICHOLAS WILTON AND ART2LIFE: Get the Free COLOR TIPS PDF: https://workshop.art2life.com/color-tips-pdf-podcasts/ Follow the Sunday Art2Life Vlog: https://art2life.lpages.co/sign-up-for-the-a2l-vlog/ Follow Nicholas Wilton's Art on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nicholaswilton/ Follow Art2Life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/art2life_world/?hl=en Subscribe on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/Art2Life

Loved this today. Makes such sense and reminds me that 'the whole is greater than the sum of its parts' (attributed to Aristotle) when it comes to making art.
This is such a great episode! there are so many brilliant ideas in here especially about taking pleasure seriously. I love what Insa says about a sheet of paper being a box into which she packs lots of lovely art processes. wonderful. Thanks Nick
